Hello guys ,

Do you always aim waterline or superstructure deck for citadel ? I got many citadels by aiming superstructure instead of waterline . Even if I am not gettin citadels I still managed to get 11-15k per salvo ?

Any inputs will be greatly appreciated , I play yamato btw

Thanks

Shoot Any caliber HE, Low caliber AP at Superstructure.

and Shoot Mid to High cal AP (>200mm) to Citadel or Armor.

if u got citadel from shooting superstructure, its just your dispersion that a shell luckily fell intp citadel penetration.

HE = Superstructure

AP = Waterline

Want to set a ship on a fire? shoot the superstructure

Want to citadel a ship? aim for the waterline

And yes, hitting citadel with HE is possible, i have done it my Nurnberg while shooting at a CV

nah, its just them who doesnt trust their own aim, so they aims for superstructure from afar so they atleast get a hit.

It really depends on both your ship and the target.

But rule of thumb is:

If you are confident you can penetrate his armour, then aim waterline.

If you aren't, then aim superstructure.

alright thanks but could you explain why I get like 5-6k avg damage if I aim for the waterline for targets that are 20+km away ? I manage to get 11-15k most of times if I aim deck armour Idk

Doesnt that should give better shell angle i.e. penetrating deck armour and hitting citadels ?

I citadeled Montanas using edinburgh from 14km that doesnt mean I penetrate deck armor, Plunging fire seems RNG based that a shell goes through smoke stack or whatever but however you calculate you cant penetrate a deck armor with AP and citadel after that, unless enemy is a minotaur.

At 20km it was probably plunging fire. The shell falls at such an angle it goes right through the top deck armour.

Though imo at that kind of ranges it is probably better to just aim for centre-of-mass since there is so much RNG involved that it doesn't really matter which exact point you are aiming.
