screen freeze

screen has been freezing and not letting back in when trying to log, right now while im typing this im waiting for a game to start. three of my team are dead and one of theirs also. some people have been saying its my computer. except the other day i played all fine and than other days like today. I was wondering if had to do with being in NZ(further away). oohh five three and my team will be going afk...............

Sorry I don't quite follow.

Are you stuck on the loading screen? Or did your game freeze mid-match? Or were you kicked back to the login screen?

Normally its the loading screen but recently both loading and mid match freeze. tried playing today, can play co-op easy enough but random etc not so much. this doesnt happen all the time some days so much better than others

I’m in NZ too and didn’t have any issues in the last few days. I’m on Spark fibre in Christchurch, which is generally pretty fast and stable.

 

What I experience sometimes is that in the middle of a game it drops out to the login screen, where you put in username and password. Generally, I can log in again and continue the battle. But sometimes it takes longer.

 

Can you confirm that with “loading screen” you mean the screen that comes up after you click “Battle”? (Because I would call the loading screen what you see after you double-click you WoWS icon in Windows.)

 

You could try to contact WG support about this. They may be able to suggest some fixes or changes to settings.

 

You could also try the normal things like rebooting your computer, updating your Windows and drivers, rebooting your Internet modem/router, doing a repair or re-install of the game.

Yes I am referring the "Battle" with the list of team members as the loading screen. I have checked computer etc and re-installed game as you suggested , this problem does not happen all the time but enough, especially when I have stacked up on the signals and camo . Some days are a lot worse than others. Im in Dunedin (gigatown) on slingshot, is just frustrating when I log back in to find I have been pinked for poor play etc...

Maybe try a texture compression mod, as maybe your computer or hard drive is slow at loading the graphics (mountains, ships etc) 

I got my local internet cafe to use one & we update it or copy it across to the new patch each time the game updates, & they run it at 50% compression.... So now instead of waiting up to 3 mins to enter a game, it loads up nearly the same time as everyone else.... 

Could be worth investigating

If you contact WG, they may have more suggestions. Not sure what else I could suggest.

I had one evening where I was logged out several times, generally in the middle of the battle. Sometimes I was able to log back in, but not always. It got so bad, I stopped playing. The next day I had the notification from WG that I had been put on warning for “inactivity.” What a joke. I also lost a fair few flags and camos.

That could be a hard drive issue. It is possible that you were downloading or instaling some big files in the background.

I sometimes have this problem, and it is almost caused by some other game trying to install some update or patch. When i stop the download, WoWs immediately finishes loading.
