I have been playing this game less than a week and have alot of queries as to the intelligence of the developers.

Firstly, You play a game and there is NO place to report if you think there hacking so the player can be checked, theres just a report plays badly which is NOT cheating,

Do wargaming believe their game is cheat free? it would be the first game in history that would be without cheaters, i highly doubt it though especially when you can search them on youtube.

Secondly some of the rules make NO SENSE, for example, I fire torps no one is around but some idiot on my team then not watching where he's going crosses my torp path and gets hit, is it my fault he wasnt watching where he was going? NO.. then why do i lose half my ships health as a penalty for their stupidity. they should be penalised.

On another point,  I joined a game that said ping -35 and it was pausing and playing pausing and playing non stop, so couldnt play it smoothly so i left the game as the ping was also bouncing to 500, that's wargamings server issue, why do i get a 6 game penalty because i left the game when i couldn't play the fricken game?? not very well thought out for a development team.

On a less minor issue but still a irratating point, People come to this game for the battleship play and to play battleships atm sucks hard, firstly you take forever to load your guns and to reload its not like you can hide a house on an open ocean, it's kinda noticable. ( obviously). So you get fast charging destroyers who either shoot you while their invisible or non stop shooting with no break for them to reload, and your ship is slower than a grandma at the traffic lights. Why would anyone want to play battleships when wargaming has battleships like this, no way to defend yourself from charging destroyers while your guns take 30 + seconds to reload.

I did voice these issues to the development team on their website but for some reason replying there to tell me to come here when they could've answered me there is beyond me why it needs to be done here. So as i have put it here wargaming as one of your team said to do so now you can answer these points and explain to me how these issues are obviously overlooked or not very well thought out. Seems to me the only way to play is with destroyers as most people just spam the shit out of the torpedos and zig zag so you can't hit them and it's got nothing to do with getting good. Do you think the destroyer gameplay is why people come to this game? i say NO, it's the unplayable battleships.

Seriously makes me not wanna continue to play this game and i can see why people slam this game and how it plays.

Regarding those friendly eating torps, the mechanics itself cant differentiate whether is the guy intentionally/accidentally driving towards your torpedo  path or you decide to launch it against him. well the current team damaging penalty is abit much i admit.

You CAN counter DD in a Battleship.......

if u see a cruiser/destroyer? u aim the DD first

Hitting DDs in a BB require abit more time

thank you for your reply gummilicous, this game seems like alot of fun it's just some aspects like all games i guess that are very irratating and thought i would just bring it up so maybe the development team can re evaluate whether these issues need changing especially the rules to some degree. :)

If you detect a cheat then upload the recording and advise a mod/dev or send it to support.   In game reporting is for reporting some player behaviour.

Its sounds condescending but you are ultimately responsible for your own ordinance and it should be used carefully when you are firing in the direction of friendly players.  You have to be mindful they may no be zoomed out or their attention is elsewhere or on an enemy.

The system is designed to deter AFK and players who leave the match early.   This is unfortunately a shortcoming of the system,

People come here to play ALL the classes of shops.   What more do you want out of a BB?  They have the highest health pool, the highest damage, the longest range, the thickest armour and in some cases the best AA/Secondary suites in the game.  Every game has its niche and theirs is not to be manoeuvrable and fast firing.   They are there big big strikes and to tank damage and push with support,  Looking at the ones you have played gives an insight to your frustrations.  The are all slow and fire slow and really do nothing too well apart from the Nassau which is an excellent close quarters BB.   Once you progress you will find that their upgrades as well as captain skills equipe you better to counter threats such as DD's

Easy tip when in low tiers BB's.

Stick with other ships

If you see a DD assume it has shot at you and turn into it to reduce the chance of being hit.

Save your shots for medium ranges at cruisers which broadside you for max damage.

Do not immediately activate repair when on fire.  You will only be focused by ships intent to light you up once you have no ability to repair.

In my own experience this game has a very generous learning curve but a quite steep mastery curve. So as to say learning how to shoot and how to sail and how to hit other ships with torps, etc. is easily learnt. But to deal max damage, effectively maneuver to avoid damage, learning to use your ship to its max strength, situational awareness, learning to "read" the battle and position yourself accordingly takes some time.

Also, during the initial days, lack of full understanding of the game mechanics can make you think that some players are cheating. Later you might realize that some of these "cheats" are actual game mechanics which you must learn to make full use of your ship type. Ofc, I'm not saying that people don't cheat in some way or the other, but get a full understanding of the game mechanics first before calling cheats.

Also, the current non-performance/afk'ing/team damage penalty mechanics of the game is a bit too harsh for the average player. Community contributors are raising questions about it and hopefully a tuned down but more effective version can be expected in future. But that doesn't mean you can get away with hitting your teammates with torps/main guns. You have to be aware of your surroundings before launching torps to ensure no friendly is in line of sight of your torps or can potentially come into the path of your torps before they run out. You should be aware of the torp range for your ship and must understand that they will only do damage if they hit anything within this range. Quite often we see players in lower tiers launching torps at enemies 10+ km away when your torp range is only 6 km (just and example). Remember friendlies do not expect torps to come at there ships from the wrong side of the battle, so its your responsibility to make sure you do not torp at allies. Hold your torps if there is an ally in the line of fire and relocate to another co-ordinate/let the team member move out of LOS before shooting torps.

About the BB thing, there guns are capable of dealing huge amounts of damage in one single salvo if using the right ammo type and if aimed correctly. So a faster reload will make them unnecessarily powerful and you will end up seeing even more BB's per game than you  see now. :cap_book: So to keep things balanced BB's have been given a 30 sec-ish reload. And its historically accurate too! And you need to develop your situational awareness skills when you are playing BB's or for that matter ships of any class. Use this high reload time to look at your team's positioning, the enemy positions, the last known DD positions etc to figure out your future course. Knowing where the DD's are so that you can angle towards them to avoid torps, using your sixth sense, constantly changing your course and speed can make enemy DD's throw there aim off.

Lower tier gameplay can be pretty frustrating with crappy dispersion, poor speed & maneuverability, etc coupled with the learning curve. Just bear with it till you reach mid tier. The real fun will begin afterwards. :cap_rambo:

EDIT - Forgot to mention if you want to git gud, check out some of the game guides/game plays/tips by community contributors on youtube.

Thanks to all those contributors to this post.. i appreciate the intel and i'm full aware  of the torps and how they work in regards to range and such.

The reason i mentioned about a player is he was a mile away west of my location and moved east in front of me he was a full kms away so i had a clear line of sight to the target, none the less i appreciate all the info and i realise some people in this game are clueless, i had one such fool yesterday on the team ram my ship and another friendlies ship in 2 repeated games back to back and when you try and reverse or move forward he was ramming people into the islands as a result both myself and the other team mate in the 2nd game got killed by enemies and the end result for me at least i scored a 4 game penalty and half my ships health in that game and considering he was no doubt trolling for me to have that thrown on me that i couldn't do anything about is harsh as it makes me out to be the bad person for copping penalties..

As a new player the game mechanics are hard to learn and know what ships are capable of and maybe i went off half cocked but i do feel some of these issues in regards to some of the rules could be re evaulated though.

Thanks for the remarks i'll take them on board.
