0.7.2 Bug? Feature? or just my bad luck?

So, I would post this in the comments for 0.7.2, but the thread is locked.....

 

Anyway, Detonation. It is true that when you are on full HP, you can't get detonated. That's great, I approve. It's been happening to me a bit too frequently for my comfort.

However, then the patch comes out, first game out I take my Gearing for a spin, and from across the map, a Yamato spies me when I get caught in Radar. I turn, I dodge, I hit speed boost, I get detonated.

The very first salvo fired at me, detonated me.

So I was curious about what was going on. From what I can tell, I was hit by three shells. Shell 1: Penetration. Shell 2: Overpen. Shell 3: Detonation.

Why did I detonate? Because Shell 1 and 2 took me to below 60% health.

 

Yeah, not sure if that's a code bug, or what. Still, at least it was the 3rd shell. I'd have been so embarrassed if it has been the first.

nah, i took a beating a lot when using Yugumo (because i like to turn on my adrenaline rush) without using anti-detonate module or skills or flags and no sign of detonation since 7.2 update

takes note that ships such as IJN DD detonate more often

My Kagero would detonate EVERY time a dive bomber hit me back in 2015.

In the end I was playing her once a day to farm the anti-detonation flags. I think I have 127-ish at the moment.

the change they made to the game I believe has made it so all ships now take more damage not just battleships.

I don't agree with notser tho 

Seemed easier to citadel shot everything now. More camping for the knowledgeable i guess.

Yes. Apparently it checks for every shell hit. I still mount deto flags, cause I don't trust this change.

i know why, it's your bad luck

 

rule that 100%hp ship won't detonation is true, but if you got hit with multiple shell is other story.

e.g. that yamato fire 1 salvo at you

1st shell hit drop your HP below threshold

2nd shell (from same salvo) hit detonation can happen 

even both shell are only fraction of second apart.

yeah one thing I now notice is more players are using AP again

so with my  tin hat on.......

WG plan has worked to get players using AP again and not so much HE lol

BUT.... would be nice if they adjusted the fire chance for British BBs then, other wise no one will play them.
