661 [FOF] Big_Black_Hawk Member 1,701 posts 25,527 battles Report post #1 Posted February 15, 2018 (edited) More scenario is always great. Another map designed for Atlanta........ Recommended ship: Atlanta(Though only kill enemy BB by fire and superstructure and suicide-torp ) Fiji(Fast-firing) Lyon(I have 16 barrels) Richelieu(secondary build) IFHE Payfast Personally don't recommend Algeria,AA too poor, barrel too few Main task: Richelieu must survive. Secondary tasks: 1.Richelieu retain 50%+ HP 2.Enemy GZ killed 3.Kill 5 enemy BB(Bayern,Scharnhorst,Gneisenau,Bismarck,Tirpitz)/Destroy 20 enemy ships 4.Shoot down 50 planes(If failed to kill the 4 FT squad at J8,it will be 100 to shoot) 5.We have 3+ BB survive till the end(If 3 players use BB,then Lyon and Gascone will be replaced by CA,and we have 4 BB in total) Purple circle:GZ position, protected by 2 HIPPER,1 GARF SPEE, 1 YORCK,and 4 DD. GZ will escape once spotted. Yellow circle:Enemy birthplace Red circle(J8):Birthplace of 4 enemy FT squad. They'll scout and flee.If the managed to escape successfully, then enemy airstrike will be much fiercer.Need ship go there and shoot it down. HP running low? At 12:00,Richelieu will repair us at 300 HP/S around G6 ,lasts 90s,stay close! The last several minutes is quite dangerous:Enemy DD armed with torps are very, very annoying. And GZ's planes are T8,DFAA needed. Edited February 23, 2018 by User_1145141919810

212 Aussie_Tigershark Member 379 posts 3,785 battles Report post #15 Posted February 27, 2018 Hi Guys. Just been reading and watching ^^^^^ the criteria for the Hermes op. Bit of a "That sucks" moment there. Of all the ships I have in my armoury, there is only the Indianapolis that fits the bill. Now I have a full AA build on her, but the only skipper available is a 10point with manual AA skill. This fits nicely against the aircraft, but without the advanced gunnery training skill, I fear she might be mince meat for the destroyers. I do have a 14 point skipper but he is set up for BB play. Do you think she would be suitable with either captain. I have run her with the 14 point captain and her secondary's against destroyers are shall we say "adequate". What do you guy's think? 289 BanditSE1977 Member 1,363 posts 6,020 battles Report post #16 Posted February 27, 2018 If the Indianoplis has the same secondarys as the Pensacola, then they won't be much help anyway!Just not enough secondary guns.Better off relying on your main guns to deal with destroyers.

Alex B_T23 IMO no need full AA Indianapolis because there must be someone driving Atlanta lol. Most of enemy planes are T1,range is more important compared to DPS
212 Aussie_Tigershark Member 379 posts 3,785 battles Report post #18 Posted February 27, 2018 (edited) Thankyou for both of your reply's. I have just been trying out "The Indy" with the 10 point Commander in Ultimate Frontier and trying to imagine what it would be like in Hermes. I must be getting old because I found the manual control to "Fiddley". I don't play Cruisers very often. I think I will try a plan of --- stay reasonably close to other cruiser(s), and hang back a little/lot against the destroyers. Lol, like a BB player. The "Indy's" guns are pretty accurate and her HE OK. That and pray for lots of Atlanta's on our side. Many Thanks Alex PS. Okay. I confess. I am a Newbie, Noob, Potato. Oh Dear oh dear. Had to accept it sooner or later. Lol Edited February 27, 2018 by Bengal_Tiger23
48 [LLBC] Hey_Potato Member 273 posts 1,386 battles Report post #19 Posted March 2, 2018 Another easy exp grinding operations. Its good for grinding t7 ships but its limited to 3 nations. Can grind my pepsicola until Orleans
212 Aussie_Tigershark Member 379 posts 3,785 battles Report post #20 Posted March 2, 2018 For my fellow Newbie Noob's. Just a quick update on "The Indie" in this op. She's a fine ship. Yea. With a full AA build and a skipper with Basic gunnery and Advanced gunnery plus superintendent, (5 defensive AA Charges), she will slaughter the incoming Aircraft. As pointed out earlier her secondaries aren't too crash hot against the DD's although with the fore mentioned skilled 15 point Commander they have finished off Half a dozen mauled DD's. There is one thing I don't like about this op. It encourages HE spamming. AP from even the "Indie" has little chance of doing substantial damage to any of the German ships apart from the cruisers. Even with the cruisers over pen's are the norm. Anyway, that's just an observation. Cheer's guy's Alex
626 Harpoon01 Alpha Tester 6,605 posts 2,919 battles Report post #21 Posted March 2, 2018 i see that this operation rely so much on ship with very high Raw DPS and AA, which mean Atlanta to bust out enemy DDs and Aircrafts
