First, yes I know the split is 7.1 ( or 7.2) anyways, not this patch. But getting bored watinig for 7.0 so I thought I would post something different to fill the time...better than reading how people are sick of waiting ;)

Anyone else been prepping US CA captains ready for the new line? I've ground out a couple of extra T10 captains on the Cleveland ready for the split, I may even rebuy the Pensa and NO to grind them up a bit more. if I don't like how they play when rebalanced, well  I can always swap the captains over to the new CAs.

Cleveland at T8 will be interesting. I know people say that is where she belongs, but look at the opposition - the Mogami is the best T8 pyromaniac IMHO, the MK, is well the MK. Chapeyev stronk Soviet radar. If they give her back the pre nerf range she had way back when I'm not sure if that will be enough. Radar maybe? Hope not, because this game has enough radar ships now.

I know captains \ XP  stay on ships. That's why we retrain captains for different ships. I dont want to start with a 0 skill Captain on the new ships - make sense now?

I do hope they fix the Range on the Cleveland when it goes to T8. It's not got the best range for T6 and to then have it on 8?....... that's going to make things challenging.

That said, it's one of my favourite ships so, I'm keeping it!!

Best way to train captains is to work on one until you get a 19 point captain. Best of all is a 19pt IJN captain. Play that captain with all modifiers to gain captain exp. Use that captain experience when required to train new captains up to where you need them.

Where the IJN captain really pays off is if you have the HSF & dragon boats. You can move the captain from ship to ship getting all the first win bonuses.

Lets not jump into conclusion b4 the line is even ready for ST.

But i suppose you should take a look at how Atlanta play out , i think the CL line will be quite similar in that aspect

Too much hassle switching them for me , i put one dedicated captain for every single ship i owned. Never run out of experienced grunts that way and you will always have spare for some weird builds

Yeah well that's fine if you have lots of 19 pt captains that call all earn captain exp. For us mere mortals who only have 1 or 2 it's better to move them between the ships that don't require retraining.

Pretty sure Cleveland will attain radar, since it's been a US Cruiser feature tier 8 and above for a while now.

I have a feeling Cleve and the rest of the new ships on the CL split will be highly competitive; hence, even though I have been enjoying my fair share of kiting cruisers, I suppose it's high time for me to start w the US cruiser line to get familiar w their more campy playstyle (a playstyle completely against my preference, but I'm willing to expand my horizons anyway, even if a little bit).
