I gather the current Halloween Op is the same as last years, but I missed it first time round. First half dozen tries, all failures. That Rasputin eh?

 

So far, playing mostly DD, my thinking is to stay ahead of the repair circle, dodging catapult fire, and torping enemies. Altho the damn AI makes that hard. I usually fire one salvo, wait for the AI to turn, then fire the second along its new course.. I figure captain loadout should emphasise damage dealing, so adrenalin rush, faster torp reload, faster gun reload, as well as damage control to help with all the fires.

 

Still, have not really come close to sinking the Rasputin yet. Teammates seem to sit in the repair circle, which speeds up the escort, or lag behind shooting tailing BBs. All of which means the Rasputin just overwhelms us, rolls into the repair circle and sinks the escort. Bah. Any other suggestions on how to beat this thing?

The hardest part of the mission is getting everyone to destroy catapults asap. Do that and win is almost easy.

The second is keeping all but 1 person out of the circle so Transylvania doesn't go too fast.

The third is getting dd's to smoke the Transylvania so it stays alive.

The other thing is people need to survive long enough to take on Rasputin. She is tough as steel balls, I had her broadside and pummelled her with AP (from the BB) and had trouble making much of a dent alone. The team as a whole really needs to focus fire on her, the Zikasa ships can usually be sunk before taking her on.

Rasputin is behaving differently this time, she is specifically targeting the transilvania where last time she shot at everyone (often nearest target). It also feels like her armour is thicker but I can't confirm that. Smoking up the treats ship does defend her for a while, but Rasputin charges into basically point blank range, so it's not always effective.

Done it twice now. On the first go in a BB. Just spammed AP at absolutely everything, and then rammed the bugger at the end.

 

Rasputin doesn't have a citadel, that I can tell anyway, was unloading AP at close range for meh results, so ramming seems to be the way to go.

 

DD is harder owing to the AI's magic ability to dodge Torps :cap_old:

This mode is a chore. People keep driving out of the circle. BBs not shooting the catapult. Not even caring if an enemy is near the circle. At least last year you can get rewards even if your team has no idea what they are doing. Now I just keep getting dumb teammates.

If you have any surviving BBs, get them to ram Rasputin. The flooding will contribute to his destruction and the hulk of the BB will block him from advancing to the green circle. The other ships just do their usual pew pew thing.

i am so lucky to get a good team that focus fire and take care of the respective zones. 1st try 5 star:Smile_hiding:

Fourth is for cruiser Igor to keep set fires on multiple Zikasa, not just focus one.

Played it twice - got 3 stars both times.  In both games, Transylvania had stopped and also taken more than 50% of its health.

BB question - looking at the stats, it shows a 0% fire chance for both main guns and secondaries.  Is this the case?  During the one BB game I played, I firing exclusively AP and noticed that my secondaries didn't start any fires either.

It's true. Unless you spec-ed demolitions (in which case I'd ask you to go respec again) you have a literal 0% chance of starting fires.

The BB's main task is to take down catapults and the Zikasas using AP. Also as a battering ram against Rasputin.

thats it, 2 BBs in front shall block shell for Transylvania and protect her from many threat >> key to save 50% HP and prevent stoping

Only played a few times. Seems the key is cooperation, to get everyone to fire on the nearest Zikasa once the catapults are down.

 

Didn't understand about the heal circle: does more ships in the circle make Transylvania go faster? I don't think that was explained up front.

Yes. This is why most times the Transylvania gets stopped. Because it reaches the enemy too fast. BB's cant get ahead to get catapults. Because it's moving too fast its harder to pop in and heal then leave and fight. But hey, why use your brain when it's so unfashionable.

The real problem for most player was they afraid to poke their ship been burn by the enemies. Some of them were too far from the escort fleet.

If u using Jackal (the Halloween BB's), its more easy. Believe it or not, if u using Jackal, u have to be front line of ur fleet while stay inside the circle (for repair of course) , so ur friendly DD's didnt get harm & they can do damage to Zikasa by their torps & less chance the Transylvania get harm.

At lease 1 of the BB's stay at the back. Remember Zikasa only use secondaries to shoot & since u a "tank" this puny shells of Zikasa wont hurt u at all (if u using BB Jackal). Keep in ur mind to destroy the catapult A.S.AP.

If u afraid to be burn, set ur captain skill with Fire Prevention, BoS & Jack of All Trades.

 

At the final wave, ask the DD's set a smoke trail while u engaging the Rasputin. Spamming shell to kill Rasputin is just waste of time since she got lots of HP.

The best way to deal high damage to Rasputin is by ramming it with BB's. For finishing blow u can ask the DD's to torps it or ask another ships to ram it.

Its works and very effective. Remember, don't hasitate & always remember to reach ur main objective. It's a necessary sacrifice for ur team.

I got 6 straight win with 5 star on the mission (3 with Jackel & 2 with Blade) today; then I go back my usual battle in the game.

By the way, 1 BB ramming Rasputin is not enough right? I rammed and sunk, and Rasputin proceeded on to kill Transylvania. Feels like deal no damage at all.

Got 2 citadels at the same time somehow on the Rasputin last night at approx 3km or less range with it broadside on.Wasn't really concentrating on where I was shooting it as I was also trying to go in for a ram.We managed to kill it first though.

Rasputin seems relatively susceptible to fire/flood. Burn it stem to stern while while the Jackels immobilize it by ramming, the hp falls rapidly.

Tbh, beyond the actual rewards (which are great), I've found no reason to go back to this OP once completed. I had hoped to farm Elite XP for my captains, but it seems the overall gain is fairly low and, given the relatively high failure rate, not really worth the effort.

The only problem right now is most of Jackal user don't have guts to do it. 

 

The didnt know the firing Rasputin didn't do huge damage on it & forgot the Rasputin always aim to Transylvania when it get close to it.
