he dosnt mean the namesake of the conq, he means the blueprint plan for the ship itself, i'de say it's some kind of bastardization of a scrapped version of the L3 plans

N3 Design is quite weird for such a structure of a battleship. Same goes to M2. At least L2 and L3 is quite good design.

maximize and armor around the vital areas and the rest can screw it, that's the "all or nothing" armor scheme, by laying the guns and engine so close to each other they can maximize the effective armor while not dragging the armor belt on for too long, thus saving space and weight

While leaving a fat lump behind the stern , limiting stern firing.

the lump is there to make the ship seaworthy, and unlike in WOWs the firing angles on actual WW2 ships, especially BBs that engage at very long ranges and have a low accruacy rate
