Over-penetration causes more damage?

I was playing as Tirpitz and hit the enemy Atago with 2 AP shells. The hit indicator says 2 shells were overpenetrated, which means the damage should be 2320. But instead of calculated value, I actually gave way more damage to the enemy cruiser; even higher than 2 shells with correctly penetrated. Even if I hit multiple module sections, I still can't figure out that how I got that value. Did I miss something from the latest patch? Any explanation, even with mathematical calculation, will be appreciated.

Enterprise AP bomb have 8K damage.... its deal 10K+ damage, Citadel+normal hit......

well, in your case maybe you hit 5x section of the ship. but its still doubt.

 

and here no one believe Bismarck got detonated by equipping flag and magazine upgrade.....

the bug is reaal

I think he was just trying to say that the system is buggy, since the Enterprise bombs also cause more damage than it is listed in the stats hahaha yall just chill out lmao

yeh i can total a DD with two overpens.

it feels like something has changed lately.

i can also seem to hit a BB with 5 pens and get zero damage occasionally which i completely do not understand.

 

how on earth does 5 armour piercing sheels penetrate a ship and detonate INSIDE THE SHIP and do zero damage.

It would seem logical to me [and the average primary grade maths student] that there should be a minimum damage level for pens.

 

it's funny isn't it?? i now like using HE on BB's and AP on DD's. seriously. it's weird.

they need to stop messing with this game and sort out the mind-numbingly obvious dumb shit.

re-organising deckchairs on the titanic comes to mind

when the shell hits a module on the outside(AA, torps, main guns ect) and penns it, but it's HP isnt related to the hull HP of your ship. it will show as a penn with 0 dmg

exactly as designed but still does no damage, and HE always does damage. like EVERY SINGLE TIME.

this is what i'm talking about. i'm now loading AP for DD's and HE for BB's.

40% of a DD's HP. like reliably.

 

i dont like dd's much but i feel for them at times like that.

Who needs a citadel to aim at when 2 overpens deletes them

yeh i heard flamu calling it out once.

i mean um really. how hard could it be to fix this??

the damage calculations have minimums. they can reset the minimums.

it's garbage problems like this being ignored which makes people doubt the longevity

of the game. we've spent the whole time training BB's when to load which Ammo and 

we've now got BB's shooting AP at DD's and HE at BB's.

So you can also bounce or non-penn but displayed as penn? No wonder many of my penn do 0 damage.

we don't have enough CA's and DD's in the game,

and they have an easily fixable bug which is probably killing them regularly,

As a BB player i would like to see the player base stop bleeding out.

i like playing against DD's and CA's.

please give them a ray of hope. fix this stupid bug.

i want to go back to using AP on BB's and HE on dd's.

 

As far as it being a readout problem i don't know.

But HE does more damage. so something is wrong with the damage modelling.

i thought its bug too.... a BB shell hit me (Algerie) from the bow and no damage, just "clunk" (sound)... lel, yolo in the atlantic.... :cap_cool:

 

 

talking about bug, my Bismarck got detonated but i am use anti detonation flag and magazine upgrade.... i am still mad about it until now

Replay or it didn't happen. This bug has been reported for months yet 0 evidence has appeared.
