Yamato is really suitable to provide aa support for CV?

Our Bogue complained our team didnt provide good AA support for him so we lost,he said his friend with T10 cv always group with yamato and always perform well,but my friend with T10 ships said that bogue is a liar,because yamato is not a good ship for aa support?is it true?

Not only does Yamato have the worst AA of all Tier 10 Battleships, her AA is concentrated close range (I.E: Self-defense only) and is wholly NOT suitable to provide AA support for teammates, let alone a CV.

 

Besides, all CVs tier 8 and up have access to AA consumable which is a huge boost to their AA ability, not to mention they got fighters.

Only dumbass will ask yamato for AA support,if really want to have aa support,find Minotaur,Des Moines or Hindenburg,battleship will go to Montana

btw, i thought its bogue fault.... CV should protect their own sheep and never hope to get air support from surface sheep.....

true, any ship specced to full AA is decent at AA support, but they arnt GOOD in them, know the diffrence

and besides, we are talking about yamato her, it AA circle is concentrated on the SHORT range AA

what i think that yamato/CV did is for the CV to babysit the yamato the whole match, that's the only instance you would want to take a yamato out in a div with a CV

As others have said, the Bogue is either lying or that Yamato is not a good player. A BB escorting a CV at the back is another ship not being useful at the front.

 

Besides, Bogues have good AA and should be able to defend itself pretty well from air attacks.

 

An exception is if it is a 4 CV match, and the 2 enemy CVs decided to gang up on it. In which case, yay for teamwork? The Bogue should have called for help from the allied CV.

 

Another exception is if the Bogue was running was running strike. In that case, that is his own darn problem.

Must be a really bad CV and BB friends. Yamato hanging out with a CV to provide AA support... pfft... like a T10 CV needs support with AA. They have freaking 2 minutes long DFAA. And anyone who cries for AA support with T4/T5 CV are beyond stupid. If you can't handle autodrops on your own, might as well delete the game.

To be frank you can have the best AS CV build, but the RNG of dogfights will still give you a sh*t time.

Dogfighting over friendly AA fire will significantly improve your chances of winning mastery of the skies
