How to play Dunkerque?

I bought a Dunkerque just now,and after several battles,I found it a little bit underpowered.

Pros:

Fast turret rotate speed;

Forward alpha strike;

Long firing range;

Good catapult fighter;

Fast speed.

 

Cons:

Low damage;

Not so accurate;

Easily get detected;

Easily get lit,vulnerable to fire;

Poor AA;

 

So how to play this ship?

point your bow at other T6 BBs like a big middle finger and spam HE

First rule of playing dunker, make sure one of your sides has a hard cover. and you are pointing towards your target. you dont have to be very close to the target since your guns are the second fastest BB gun in the game. Dunker is pretty much point and click. Against higher tier BB, spam HE if they are not braodside.

If up against T6 BBs, beware of Warspite because she can pretty much lolpen you even if you're bow on to them.

I have a Warspite and i have fun lolpen those bow on Dunker.

Done it in Fuso a fair bit too...

Think it might be due to number of guns?

I don't think Fuso AP can do much to properly angled Dunkerque. You have to switch to HE.

Obviously not talking about cita, but definitely penned 3/4 of a salvo front on/angled...

Your rear fire arc is also pretty good, so long as you run at an angle.
