Hey folks,

So I decided to activate the replay feature by following some of the guides posted on other WOWS forums[No idea why WG hasn't made it an on/off feature in the settings yet] but I have been having issues activating it.

First I tried the replay.exe file posted by WarGaming NA. No dice there. Nothing happened even after running the file from game directory and cmd prompt saying the execution was successful. Not even a replay folder got made.

Second I tried manual setting. After following the instructions my preference.xml looked like this before I saved the file.

<isReplayEnabled> true </isReplayEnabled>
       <ReplayCameraUpdate> 30 </ReplayCameraUpdate>
 </scriptsPreferences>
    <consoleHistory />
</root>

But after launching the game the preference.xml file reset itself and aligned the lines somewhere else entirely and looks like this:

The game runs fine and a replay folder got made in the game directory as well but no replays are being recorded.

Kind of out of ideas now. Any of you folks know what I am missing/doing wrong? Would appreciate the help. Currently no mods apart from WG Modpack are installed.

                Thank You.

Regards,

LonerPrime

Yes that is it. I have no idea what deepfreeze is so I am pretty sure it isn't active unless it is a malware of some sort. Even then my Kaspersky/MalwareBytes run weekly and they haven't raised a flag during scans. The game is not in C:/, it is in L:/. They are not the same hard drive so that shouldn't be a problem either.

Interestingly enough, I used to record replays in the last patch but from this patch I couldn't anymore. So it did use to work, it is just the new patch that changed something.

According to your screenshot, <isreplayenabled> line is entered twice. Delete the extra line.

If that doesn't work, delete preferences.xml, start the game to generate a factory default file, close the game and edit it again.

Thank you amade, that did it. I tried editing out the line first but no replays still so I figured something must have got really botched in the preference.xml apart from the extra line so as per your suggestion I scrapped it and generated a new one. Had to do all the in-game settings again but it was no big deal. Manually edited the lines and voila, replays started registering. Thank you again. Much appreciated.
