Camping meta is going as far as blue line, that is pretty far. Blue lining helps you to dodge shells as well. Because your ship does weird drifts and enemy cant tell your direction easily.

The camping meta is bad, it starts from BBs not wanting their paint scratched.

DD's that have no idea and prefer not to contest caps.

I completely agree with this.... Many BB players dont know how to play BB.  And many DD players... Only concern themselves with individual kills.

BB should be the vanguard of any Assault.  DDs scout the enemy, contest caps and provide intel for the team.  CL/CAs are the multipurpose escorts for the BBs and Support for DDs.

CV are the Force multipliers of the team.

Ships always had overlaping capabilities to support each other.  If one branch fails.. Its every Man or Ship for himself.... Which... Usually happens

Hence.. The camping meta

I've said it before else where in other posts but I'll say it again here.

BB's won't push for fear of mainly being burnt to death in a matter of minutes and also to some extent the power of other BB's

CL/CA's won't push for the fear of citadels and deleted instantaneously.

DD's won't push because the others are not for the reasons stated above so there's no cover.

So it is all a vicious cycle. There are those constant proponents of utilising the WASD hack but sometimes no matter where or how much you do this you are always open to a citadel from various angles and always to a well placed/timed salvo of HE.

I suggest a trial of reducing the effect and occurrence of both fire damage and citadel damage to see if this will encourage more aggressive play as players will then know that they will not be sunk in a matter of minutes and are ensured of at least a decent time frame in the match.

I dont think changing the amount of damaged received from he or ap would fix this issue, as you will always have the campers... perhaps if when people enter tier 8, there should be advanced training missions, so people  would learn how to use the bigger, more powerful ships more effectively.

If there were specialized biographical histories put in the training, along with a how to expect to play said class of ship, & it cant go into open battle until say 100 games (play against bots like in co op for the first 99 games), then that player can come out of it a seasoned player, & not just a potato.

They do this in real life, bismarck took nearly a year doing shakedown cruises, sea trials & crew training.

We could implement an excellerated version here, but we would have to put a thing in where you CANNOT simply skip it by paying dubloons or using exp, because that would make it pointless.

A nice reward for completing this advanced training could be a higher credit or exp per winning match, or small dubloon amount added per win, or something along those lines, this incentive would help weed the potato patch of the usless players from tier 8+. As they would have to do the training to get there.

The main problem  i have been experiencing in the lower tiers is the stupid lemming trains. They kill more of the fleet than YOLOing.

My 2 cents.

i still remember one guy in NA forum saying that the damage and accuracy of guns in high tier is ridiculous to the point of armor means nothing, which lead to the problem you mentioned

Armor still matter at high tier when angled properly

The map however, so open

that you can be shoot from the direction you not angling to, from half map away

Aside from Yamato, accuracy mostly stay the same from T6 up to T10

but mid tier only have ship with 8 16inch gun that can deal considarable damage at distance, high tier have ships with 12 16inch gun

High tier ships also have smaler detectibility due to module and captain skills

you can almost always keep track fuso on the map, due to 18km spoting range

at high tier, you have bunch of stealh ships that can reposition and supprise pounce you when you break your angling

stealh yamato, stealh montana, stealh kurfurst all with less than 14km spoting range

Not to mention high tier ships is sluggish with gigantic turning radius and long ruder shift

you need pre-emptively angling, since if you need to react before they fire the trigger

thats why, it always fun when cyclone strike (unless when I play Soviet DD, I hate cyclone then)
