Persistent puff of smokes from AA

When you watch movies or old film reel about a battles between AA and attacking aircraft, you will see the AA guns leave a lot of this puff of smokes up in the air. You think it is possible for WG to make smoke puffs from AA fire persist for minutes instead of seconds? At least make it an option in a settings.

You mean Flak Cloud ?

 

AA gun effect need to be improved, in conjunction with CV revamp 

I dont think its on WG to do list, at all though

I don't have high-end graphics card to confirm if there is one in higher settings. That's definitely falls under Effects Present and Effects Quality if there is one.

I think that is to avoid the situation when the enemy is in secondary gun range but you are being attacked by planes at the same time. Where do your guns point and fire at?

 

The same thing also applies to the dual-purpose main guns for some DDs.

Yeah,was a while ago,but if I remember correctly Secondary guns that double for AA are included in your AA rating for shooting down planes,they are just not animated in game for it so they can focus on ship to ship effects wise.

Facts for the Inquisitive...

 

The purpose of the AA smoke is to see where you're aiming, much like tracer.

 

The main guns on ships also used them, with different colors for the different turrets. Red for A turret, green B turret, etc.

 

 

 

Battles were sometimes a very colourful affair.

Yup. That is why we won't have the graphical effect of dual-purpose guns firing on planes.

they not animated

and they are 2 diffrent objects too.

you can have all your AA destroyed, but secondaries still works fine - and vice versa

That kind of thinking is why Carrier gameplay is under-developed

 

 

personaly I would like to see CV remaked

like giving Aircraft actual Health pool for starter

 

then instead of those garbage aura system, with actual aircraft health pool we can have something that better. 

then diffrence betwen Long range AA and short range can be seen (long range AA use airburst, direct hit will kill aircraft, and damage anything around its radius) - while short range AA require multiple  hit to kill aircraft

its like how Homeworld 2, handle its strikecraft - capital ship relation

WG actually have increased the AA effects when firing quite some time ago, but yeah to me the flak smoke would make the Anti AA stuff looks more intense though...

I think they mentioned late last year they intend to add more effects like this into the game but it's not that high on their priority list

IIRC earlier patches had animation of flak puffs. I think Devs removed it to make the game more friendly to potato PCs.

WG(Lesta) not expert about RTS, I dont think they could learn how to put RTS on CV play style

P/S: CV play style is a mess

Supreme Commander still the best dynamic RTS

Well.. come to think of it... AA Puffs... are proportionate to the number of planes in the air.
