Well finally the Trashcan Tier 9 stats are in....:read_fish:

https://asia.warships.today/vehicle/3865982416/Tashkent

But i found other interesting things in these stats.

Tier 9

1# Number one used DD in Asia Kagero (2nd worst ship but still miles ahead of the Tashkent)

2# Highest survival rate Kagero ???? considering it is the 2nd worst winning ship you would think people would either try to fight to win or get sunk doing so?:wander_cap:

3# Kill to Death Ratio Tashkent is more than half behind the Z-46 and abysmal 30% survival rate .... wow i didnt know they are that bad.:child:

4# Why isn't more people playing Z-46?  Well thats easy, not many people want to grind to this ship and have their W/R drop.:smart_fish:

5# Torp hit ratio, the TashKent/Udaloi with just 3%, no doubt in my mind the torps on these ships are just for show.:look:

Wow super-testers, game dev guys what where you thinking with this ship?:amazed:

You should go check Grozovoi stats, that will give you a clear idea what the balancing team is doing…

A QA said

"Shimakaze is still competitive"

And now I do agree with it, at least better than Grozovoi right?

The Tashkent is a slightly better ship now, but still has the the weaknesses that made her the weakest in the Russian DD line when at tier 8.  Tier 9 is the best tier for destroyers as well, with the Fletcher, Udaloi and Z-46 all being excellent ships and better than their T10 'upgrades'.

The win rate stats for these ships don't tell you everything however - you can tell this by comparing the recent stats of the Leningrad to the Minsk, two basically identical ships except for the better torps on the Leningrad.  Minsk has a 47% win rate compared to Leningrad's 57%...

IMHO, the Tashkent even with its buffs should have stayed in T8.  The problem is that it could be the strongest but i doubt it, as it is soo big.  But its W/R and damage would go up for sure.  While i do fully agree that W/R is not everything, the stats tell us it is the lowest survival ship and the lowest Torp hitter and the lowest dmg per match.  It has slow turrets, and its awkward to maneuver due to its speed vs size and slow rudder shift.  You can counter these but in reality its basically the same Trashkent with more buffs in a higher tier.

Glad it's not just me. I'm really struggling with her. . . . played a bunch of games this weekend and rage quit . . .

I feel a bit jibbed that I had only just finished grinding through her in Tier 8, and now have an ever bigger grind with only marginal improvements.

Her main problems are:

1) too big and easy to hit;

2) modules that break with every single hit (I lose steering, guns, engine all the time > much more so than with Fletcher or Yugumo).

3) poor steering, so can't dodge BB volleys at 11-12km

Add this to her terrible concealment, which makes her unable to contest caps early on, it's not clear to me what her role is. I generally try to escort other DDs, but just get focused and destroyed as soon as open fire. I've been destroyed by German Tier 7 BBs 16km away, despite WASD hacking . . . it's downright depressing. She's the old Penescola of the DD line.

And if there is a CV in the game, you might as well not even bother as you'll be spotted and killed, and - unlike Fletcher, you can't pop smoke and DFAA and at least make them think twice.

I think they need to buff her module-survivability a bit, and give her a better rudder shift; and maybe slightly faster turret rotation, so you can survive close encounters with US gunboats.

I feel a bit jibbed that I had only just finished grinding through her in Tier 8, and now have an ever bigger grind with only marginal improvements.

Her main problems are:

1) too big and easy to hit; You need to change your maneuvring 'routine' na docme up with a new one. Your current routine must be too predictable, and you must be engaging the wrong ships (e.g. Chapayev, never engage a rapid-firing cruiser in a Trashcan.) Don't even think about shooting a Minotaur.

2) modules that break with every single hit (I lose steering, guns, engine all the time > much more so than with Fletcher or Yugumo). This has been an inherent problem with the Trashcan. I used to get triple engine knockouts (knocked out, repaired, then immediately knocked out, and then knocked out again right after) until I got fed up and took Last Stand.

3) poor steering, so can't dodge BB volleys at 11-12km You see, you don't dodge BB shells, per se. You constantly maneurvre to constantly throw off the enemy BB's aim. the BB will only be able to hit you with a lucky shot or poor aim if you do this. Make no mistake - you will eventually be hit, but hopefully not before you set 3 or 4 fires on the BB.

Add this to her terrible concealment Its the Trashcan's job to be a super annoying scumbag zipping near a cap and draw fire away from your teammates, which makes her unable to contest caps early on, it's not clear to me what her role is. Trashcan's cap contesting ability is poor.

I generally try to escort other DDs, but just get focused and destroyed as soon as open fire Again, you need to be smart about when and at what you open fire. e.g. Don't shoot near a Chapayev/Minotaur/Kutuzov, any battleship with 10km+ ranged secondaries, an Akizuki sitting nearby in smoke with a spotter. Unless you are destroying a priority target (e.g. Shimakaze 6km away) then you should consider doing it.

I've been destroyed by German Tier 7 BBs 16km away, despite WASD hacking. That's just horrid luck, especially by a Gneisenau, but hey - I guess even battleships get lucky sometimes. it's downright depressing. She's the old Penescola of the DD line.

And if there is a CV in the game then you roll with your cruisers and any decent teammate will understand and not report you for not capping, you might as well not even bother as you'll be spotted and killed, and - unlike Fletcher, you can't pop smoke and DFAA and at least make them think twice.

I think they need to buff her module-survivability a bit, and give her a better rudder shift; and maybe slightly faster turret rotation, so you can survive close encounters with US gunboats As an RU DD, you do not 'close encounter' US DDs. You pummel them at around 10km where you can hit them and they will need to shoot like Kobe Bryant (with those shell arcs) to hit you

Hope this helps! I love my Trashcan.

Ahhh this lies a real issue with Trashcans, people not understanding what they are like and reporting you for not capping!!!  Hence the reason why many people will try to cap in them and die in the fear of getting reported.

Its the players that use Tashkent at fault, they lacks faith in way of Stalin and caps in fear of reports
