Hi! I am very new to this game,  i was wondering what my cousin was playing and i tried installing it.. and its really nice and unique!

Im still at the 1st 1- 3 tiers, and i want to advance as fast as possible to Tier 6 - 7.

I would like to ask advice on what is the best class ship i can choose that can get me to that tier.

Thank you

Welcome.   There are a ton of guides on line and in the forums about what each nation and class can do. It ultimately comes down to your own preferences and play style.  Don't rush up the tiers.  Get yourcaptains skilled up and learn the map tactics and how to play each class before moving up.

Thank you for for the welcome!

the reason why i want to get to tier 7, is i want to participate in ranked battles.  been watching my cousin play, and he seems to like ranked more then random.  I had my 1st random game... and its a loss. There were lots of Veterans in tier 2 -3 games after new players like me.    My cousin pointed out that they were vets because they had the "One Year Old" flag and some had the "Jolly Rodgers" on their ships.  lol,  I felt like PREY.

also it seemed like Ranked has more teamwork which i really like.

BWAHAHAHAH!!!! You have been INITIATED!!

Welcome to the Game cousin!!!

Try to get to Tier 3 as soon as possible so you can play a bit more.  Tier 1 and 2 players are a bit.....rare during AM.

Please take care of her captains!  Its rare to see such enthusiasm from young-lings longing for DEATH!!!:P

Have a look in the forums abut ranked battles.  In an ideal world it should comprise of teamwork, but in reality it is pure luck to get a team that works together.  It's seven a side random battles with a ton of premium ships.    I'll say it again.  Don't rush

Greetings & welcome to the game

It's fun game to play, & get to learn the character of each ship, as every ship of every nation is different, & like Ralph said, develop your own play style, whether it be long range, or aggressive, or even different types of ships, like battleships (BB), cruisers(CA or CL), destroyers (DD) or even go for aircraft carriers (CV)

I personally like BB myself, especially mid tier Herman, so I am what you would call an aggressive play style. I like to get up close to other BBs & brawl it out..

It's a fun game, & even if each ship is the same style (cruisers for instance), they are all different to one another, so learning the fell of the ship is important.

Rank battles come around often, as already stated, so don't worry on missing out, besides it gives you time to work up your captains & ships..

The trickiest part is learning about The gun dispersion n relation to the distance of your target..  a hint for you is when in binoculars mode, hold down the alt key & that gives you readings of estimated distance before you fire, & another tip is press down the z key & you can follow your shots & see where they land..

1 more hint, when aeroplanes or DDs or any othrvship comes close, you can hold down the alt key & press the mouse button on the target, that will get your secondary guns or anti aircraft (AA) guns to shoot at them when they get too close.

Happy sailing, I may see you around in my Mikasa or Aurora or Diana or any of my other lower tier ships...

In order to collect more information and to learn what the Don'ts and Do's then you can :

~ Watch Youtube Video

~ Watch Live Streamer

~ Read the Forum

~ Chat with other player in Discord / Teamspeak

When you understand the game, make less mistake then you will have chance to do more for the team. I am a new player with less than 50 match, but I really enjoy this game and I believe that the time and effort I've spend learning about the game have pay off. I manage to face those Pro player with my pride !

As tempting as it may be to jump straight into random battles, it is well worth using Co-Op to master the basics of your ship.

As you progress each tier, run at least a couple of battles in co-op to get a feel for the new ship before returning to random.

Welcome to WoWs! Start by playing in Coop. Random may be too overwhelming for someone new to jump into. Ships to play? I tend to recommend playing IJN and/or USN cruiser line as they will ease you into the overall game mechanics very easily. Once you get the hang of playing cruisers, the next line to consider would be battleships or destroyers. With the former, they play much like cruisers albeit, slower, more sluggish and lower rate of fire, compensated with better armor and high damage from their guns. With destroyers, the play style will be different and more so with destroyers of different nations. As for carriers, you may want to consider playing them last unless you are into RTS kind of games.

To level up quickly, Coop could be a drag as XP earned in Coop is kinda low. Once you feel confident enough, check out random battles.

Alas, just remember to have fun!

Enjoy!!

My advice is to stay away from playing aircraft carriers for now - the whole carrier player interface will be reworked soon, at the moment it's a little bit terrible. Also, dont start playing Royal Navy cruisers until you get around 200-300 games in total, they are very 'situational' ships and you need get have a good sense of what's happening around you to understand how to play them well.

German battleships have good armour and are very forgiving to beginners like you, so I recommend them to you when you first start playing battleships.

In terms of cruisers (other than royal navy) , they're pretty similar in my opinion.  In the lower tiers, your experience probably won't differ too much between different nations, although you get some nice torpedoes in the japanese cruisers.

In terms of destroyers, I recommend you to start playing the USN destroyer line as they can be seen as more 'multirole' and have good ergonomics. Learn the japanese destroyer line last, which is more specialised in torpedoing.

As others have said, no need to level up too quick, unless you turn out to be super good. You won't enjoy the game if you prematurely play the higher tiers and repeatedly get whacked by more experienced players.

Nice to hear that you're enjoying lower tiers. They currently have protected matchmaking so tier 4s won't be seeing any tier 6.

This will change at tier 5/6 where the matchmaking spread is +2/-1 so bear that in mind before diving into that. :tea_cap:

You can still experiment/experience the other ship classes while you're at it. You can unlock destroyers or battleships and decide which class you'd like to progress with.

No need to rush down a ship line asap.

Thank you, ive been watching youtube videos... and asking my cousin and some friends who play.  Seems like Cruisers seem to be too slow for me.  Destroyers are just right.
