How to defend from CV snipes against saipan on a ranger?

Hello, so I'll cut straight to the point:

Whats the best way to defend against CV snipes from saipan because although saipan doesn't stop me from doing damage the most damage i've done where the opponent is saipan is only 55,000 (considering new mex has like 50600 HP?)?

Problem:

Can't use my fighters against escorted CV snipe because Saipans 6 F4Us (well, 8) will lock down my fighters and always come out on top in a dogfight despite barrages from my 7 brave F6F planes that are doomed because a barrage can't wipe out saipan unless I sacrifice something, but even then the kind of saipan player foolish enough to fall for that isn't going to be the one sniping anyway even if i win a dogfight a US 1-2 plane squad can't do as much as even catch the enemy planes. So since my fighters are so badly out matched I can't rely on them so then comes AA.

AA on my ranger is strong but not strong but hey there always the one nice Ship that helps out (well maybe not all the time but still). So I have tried to follow the team but that's not good either because then I get spotted and the nearest DD finds me and my fighters are screwed fighting one of saipan's squads and my strike planes are getting rekt by the other (or as the case may be by the other  so then basically I've got a destroyer that's hiding in smoke with the team doing as much as the can and me getting rekt anyway because even if the DD doesn't get me saipan's planes do anyway (being in a group didn't help even there was a north carolina or gneieneau (gneiseneau's AA was't OP enough to stop my air raids let alone saipan's so yeah...))

My only hope to do damage is that saipan's planes chase my fighters on one side of the map while i strike on the other side but even then some times saipan wins the dogfight and gets to my bomber fast enough.

but before there is any salt I just want to say : Thanks saipan because now thanks to saipan's existence I'm no longer waiting over 5 minutes to get into a match (one thing saipan really does not get enough credit for)

but then i can't get midway...

P.S Please don't dash my hopes and dreams by saying "Midway, essex and lexington are all horrible ships"

First thing 1st :

Move right at the start of the match to near your hardest camping ally ship you can find , they may not shoot down Saipan planes , but its help

Rather than trying to stop Saipan fighter lock from 220 , use only 1 and hide the other so that you can strafe his torpedo squad.

Be aware of incoming CV snipe early on and anticipate his incoming direction , this is important as it allow you to get sleight of hand ( handy hidden FT ). His squads are faster than yours , so positioning is key.

Dont be afraid to send your 2 DB towards him to make him pay for sniping you. You can stack fires and force his FT to return or eat the same damage as you do.

Try to open the fight with a strafe , it really helps as even if you lose some FT , you can still win the fight for your life.

Install rudder shift mod and try to WASD out of 1 squad aim , you will live generally if he miss even 1 torp.

If a strike is very imminent or his intent is apperant move immidiately , caught speeding up from 0 knots mean you will die. Turn your ass into the direction you think he will come from and play safe. If he caught you with your pants off , turn into the torp to make him miss his arming distance

Do not let his FT provoke you into going far away , you only need to chase him away from your line

Try divisioning up or ask an Atlanta or Cleveland or tier 8 cruiser with AADF to stay with you for the first 3-4 minutes , as only those ships with AADF can meaningfully stop Saipan planes from trashing you.

Not recommended : play strike and snipe him b4 he snipe you. Extremely hard to pull off , but if you do chances are insulting comments will fly your way from him.

Things are very different if you face 301 Saipan as your only job is to rekt that single DB squad , you dont need to engage those 3 FTs. Save your FT to make him unable to do any damage so that he come here and cry about it. Play very defensively and refuse to chase planes far from your battle line.

i remember geting CV sniped in early by the same person..... damn seal clubbing! it was on Zuiho before, and it right click my fighter :V

after that i learn that always move in start and keep my fighter scouting nearby..... never use fighter for scouting :V

and i almost never get sniped again :V

the pesky thing i learn is always use fighter to defend not to destroy enemy planes, it result in i kill less planes but making my enemy deal no damage.

and yeah, dont engange saipan fighter directly! never! it faster and tankier to strafe..... your priority is destroying enemy bomber planes!

[ lel, my Hiryu friend got sniped when i was in Ryujo... i am trying to strafe 1 saipan fighter BUT IT MISSED! its TOO FAST..... it so funny that i managed to win and get revenge and LOL, but, only manage to deal half HP. i am sux at manual bombing]

saipan OP because pesky tier 9 planes in tier 7 + air premacy commander skill make it more worse..... its so faster.... its hard to bait...

and other advice :

1. dogfighting expert

2. air supremacy [commander skill]

at least air supremacy will make your strafe MOAR DEADLIER!

You simply can't. IIRC your strongest AA aura is the 2km one which is too late to defend against those 155kn planes. Saipan torp bombers suffer greatly from RNG though (one plane down and his strike potential is reduced massively) so sacrifice something to RNG god might help  Besides, I think he will need at least 2 strike waves to finish you so try killing him first (assuming you are playing 1/1/1 which can reliably do so). All t7 CV are vulnerable to being sniped but Ranger is more so due to its high detection range.

Strafes rarely kills off a Saipan squad , however they can bring it to 3 v 6 or 2 v 6 which is that much more to your advantage.

Do remember to immidiately click to engage FT dogfight after you strafe , it wont do so unless manually commanded to.

Saipan FT DPM scale off alot with each FT lost in its wing , so use that fact against them

run away from them, use second group of fighters to close in and strafe Essex fighters, get the group that's running to turn around and strafe the other squad

its so fast that dodge the strafe is so easy :V

btw, who is fool enough to chase enemy fighter? it wont work bro, just saying... and running away when the faster enemy fighter is near will make you easy target for strafe.

i am losing a lot so i learn some mistake too!

It's a game of skill, it is true that Ranger is hard to play. That's why you should travel in a formation with friendly ships. Your task is to snipe the enemy Saipan. You'll only have one chance at it. So don't mess up, hit her with TB first, then move in with DB.

why bother snipe CV :V

the easiest way is protect your fleet from bomber with fighter and help fleet destroy most sheep threat.

even make most enemy sheep turn broadside can be helpfull :V

ah forget this....i am sux at manual drop, so rely on strategic  play is more better for me...

its just weird my win rate just increasing lately....... did my skill increase? or MM becoming more friendly.....

CV is the best WN8 and statpadder if you become better at it. No ship is as flexible or as dangerous as it despite the nerfs to its strength several thousand patch ago.

If there is the thing called "XVM snipe" like in WoT , it will be perfect

Saipans don't really snipe. They don't have the firepower to do so.

That said, I'd rather run the 202 Ranger setup and be the king of the skies than be a 111 Ranger and fail in almost every conceivable way (cannot spot, gets outdamaged by strike loadouts, gets shut down by AS loadouts).
