does relative velocity have enything to do in game right now?

actually, I have a few question about physic in this game

2nd law of motion

     force = mass x acceleration

by force I mean 'penetration power'

If 2 ship moving toward each other, firing forward gun at each other

shell velocity itself would be 'shell velocity + ship speed'

and since target moving toward shell, 'relative velocity' would make force (penetration power) of shell even greater

but if both ship moving away form each other, shell velocity would be decrease as well as shell relative velocity, thus force would be decrease

that sure is fact ... but is it work like that in this game???:amazed:

one more thing

put engine into 'reverse' suppose to make ship slow down faster than simply 'stop' engine

is it work like that in game???

It's not as simple as that, PGM...

Let me also just point out that you are talking about velocity, when force deals with acceleration...the quantities are not the same, and even talking about force this way is kinda irrelevamt and narrow-sighted.

I think the better question is why shells aren't relative to the lateral movement of the ship they're fired from.

The game isn't meant to be realistic. It's ultimately an arcade game.

Even if it did you wouldn't see much more than +30m/s best case scenario. That's targets closing at 58 knots combined. Hardly worth processing the math.

doesnt Shell travel on parabolic curve ?

after peak of the curve, the one that accelerating the shell were not muzzle velocity anymore, but mass and gravity

even on close range, the effect seems very minor -
