Ever wondered what the actual fire-setting capability of your favourite ship really is? Here's a list of popular fire-starters and their maximum theoretical bonfire potential. It's important to note that some ships have a far easier time of landing their maximum shell output on target (Kutuzov in smoke, for example) than others (Atlanta on Ocean map).

All possible upgrades to fire chance and rate-of-fire are assumed (including flags; excluding Adrenaline Rush). Target is a same-tier Battleship with Damage Control upgrade (-5% fire risk). The second, italic line is with both Fire Prevention skill and Damage Control (-15% fire risk).

Atlanta is 5%, plus 2% from Demolition Expert, plus 0.5% x 2 from the two fire flags. So 8% per shell base, modified by the target's fire resistance.

There were a few surprising results in there. Omaha and Nurnberg were much higher than I would've guessed, while Zao was lower. The fire resistance at high tiers is actually pretty significant.

Well, I actually not surprised by Omaha result, I got my first Arsonist with her.

Can you add Mogami 155? Because of this table, now I am really curious about the her ability.

U know there's a reason why NA appears in NaCl.

*chuckled* Good one right there.:teethhappy:

Hmm, confirms again that those fire prevention skills are a waste of time... still...

I was hoping that those skills would be buffed a little...

I give up calculating for myself. I always keep getting weird decimals. I guess I cant math and brain at the same time.

So for Russian DD, between DE and BFT which is better? I only got 12 points on Ognevoi now, so I cant get both of the skills. I think DE is better though because its buff the individual shells directly. So yeah... o(-(

For starting fires, DE will give you a 22% increase (9% with flags becomes 11% with DE added). BFT will give you an 11% increase in fires (from firing 11% more shells). Of course, BFT will also give you an 11% increase in raw HE damage, too.

So it really depends on your main targets. Shooting Battleships where most of your damage will come from fires, choose DE. Training BFT will give you more flexibility when fighting any target. Personally, I strongly recommend you get both since they stack together well.

I wouldn't consider them a waste of time, you are going to be set on fire no matter what. That is an inescapable fact of life on WOWS, what fire prevention does is increase the amount of time needed to do that same amount of fire damage which means your heals & repairs have a better chance of being useful and you will at any given point have more HP than you would without it.

Alright, I guess I will bear without AFT for a while then. Thanks!
