I'm in a confusion... Like most of you know.... I've been grinding lot of ships at the same time and it kinda payed off... Now I unlocked New Orleans, Edinburgh and Izumo...

If I leave Izumo... I can buy New Orleans and Edinburgh at the same time...

Thing Is I want to get Yamato as quick as possible but Izumo's concealment bothers me most then IJN BB's Stock hulls have slower AP shell which IMO doesn't get you citadel penetrations and no AA at all because IJN... with the mods I can get me concealment mod but I don't know how much it lessens it's concealment(It'd be helpful if stats are provided)...

New Orleans this is the ship I'm looking forward to and I want to get it because I liked grinding pensacola has been a good ship for me... How much AA does it get when fully upgraded and how are the shells are they same as Pensacola's...?

Edinburgh looks different from other RN CLs looks huge with lot of citadel area... Feels hard enough by looking at it...

So If I can get any info on them would be helpful....

I don't have PTS files were corrupted .. So I cannot test them out on PTS...

Thanks in advanced....

Can comment on Izumo as I just finished the grind a few weeks ago.

Pros:

-Stock hull now has same shell as hull B/C, and they are better than Amagi (shell flight time/damage). Stock hull also has only 2k hp less than fully upgraded.

-Very tanky, not only when bow-on. This ship actually bounced a lot of 410 and lower shells when I had to turn and showed broadside at mid range and above. Closer than ~14km it is fairly easy to aim and citadel Izumo tho. Less superstructure so you are less vulnerable to HE damage.

-Decent 2nd against enemy cruisers, not effective against BB tho because some of them fire AP.

Cons:

-Srsly, this ship's maneuverability makes me mad at stock hull. 26s ruddershift is soooooo painful. I had to change the repair module to ruddershift module because I can't stand it. To make things worse, on Iowa and Izumo you need to get hull C to lower your ruddershift instead of hull B.

-Turret layout sucks. Combined with the horrible ruddershift above, it is near impossible to kite effectively if you have to retreat, unlike Amagi.

-Torp protection sucks compared to Amagi and Yamato. You'll be fine if you can play other lines tho.

-Engine upgrade gives you 0,8kn more. Like wtf? lul

-Horrible concealment but you already know that. With just concealment module you get ~17km concealment. With both CE and module you get slightly less than 15. I grinded through the ship with no module or CE and it was a torment. Every cruisers will try to light you on fire for easy damage. If you choose to buy Izumo, don't be like me - be smart and get CE + conceal module on this ship.

Personally, I rather not go into high tier. High tier players tend to be depressingly bad, and spend most of the game camping from range or focusing down bottom tier ships... The moment one side gains an advantage it just grows and grows. Nothing exciting happens, no amazing game changing plays are made... I honestly can't enjoy it. Midtier is more fun.

If someone can tell me how to tolerate anything above Tier 8, I'd be happy. You seriously would think people would become better players by the time they were that far up the grind...

Hehe I've seen how High Tiers work and I'm not new with this Camping or Lemming style of play... And IMO it can be countered with good division mates and in these few weeks I've been strictly playing T8s and I'm getting good amount of wins...

So Solo players(who want to grind and win) are not recommended to play high tiers... Division up with friends and play it'll be real fun...

And please keep this post in topic... you got any Idea about the ships in question???

High tier can be Fluid and Fun

however it depends on how Destroyer set the game tempo and Maps

Tears of the desert is camping paradise - no matter what mode

Just go for the New Orleans man, it is much easier to play. It had an armor buff before so its slightly harder to citadel, it has amazing turning radius and a good 16.2km range when upgraded, the guns turn fast and reload fast at 12 seconds, it has radar to screw over destroyers, the AA is decent (why do people say its bad wut) but you won't be doing any escort duties because they are not good enough for that yet, unless you AA spec it which is a waste. I will tell you the commander skills later, its gonna be reset anyways so doesn't matter too much what you take right now. It relies on a lot of dodging, you wanna engage battleships at 12km+ most of the time and cruisers 8-12km I find the best engagement range for the New Orleans

I just unlocked the NO as well. I think its a great ship, especially when you watch a 12-round Fuso salvo come at your angled hull and they just bounce away. Don't try that with 1 inch shells though...

Can't tell you about the Edinburgh as I have only played it on PTS, but it didn't seem too different to Leander, the playstyle is more or less the same. Those RN cruisers are good fun, I learn something new every game I play.

NO - a lot better base concealment than Pensacola. (10.8kms with concealment mod and camo but not concealment expert), compared to the Pensa range of 15.2 with camo.

Guns are 203s like the Pensa but have a similar float to the Cleveland so you'll need to lead your shots differently.

Has radar which is nasty for DDs, but has a 9km range.

New Orleans is a nasty support ship to fight against especially at close quarters... Her AA is more of a self-defense bubble than a fleet defense no-fly zone but Def AA still holds merit for her... and of course, radar... DDs hate radar.

Imo she's decent but quite mediocre in all aspects... not a ship I'd expect to carry a lot of games but would not fail you regardless.. her shells are a bit on a clumsy side at long range though

I would have to disagree on that one. She's not bad, but also not that good, more like a middle ship. You can't expect amazing things frequently from her because she's more of a support ship. Go support fire your BBs, do AA screening, hunt down DDs with your radar (as long as there is support from your team or they're not early battle DDs)

NO ain't worth your time and in-game money at the moment. The lack of CVs at high-tier makes this ship redundant. As for DD hunting with radar, ~15 seconds reload and high shell arcs ain't that helpful, and don't even count on your teammates.
