How is it possible to have such low winrates?

I'm not here to rant, I'm just so confused but entertained.

I was testing out XVM-like program and hell, its very intresting to look at people's stats.

I sometimes come across these players with over 1000 battles with abysmal winrates.

I'm talking about below 42%, down to 13% (THE WORST overall winrate I have seen).

You rreally deliberately have to TK or do something VERY harmful to your team to achieve such a low winrate.

It might be better for the team if they just sail away to the corner of the map and do nothing.

Another mystery, what keeps those people motivated to play PvP games?

Some kind of masochist?

i dont want to start defending those category but let me tell you my tale:

once upon a time there was a boy....

he start playing WoWs because he saw the game advertising..

he dont have any friends..

he dont go to forum..

he dont saw youtube video

and he definitely dont use team speak

all he do is to press the battle button and try his best

almost aalways got bottom of the exp result

but he honestly want to have a higher tier ship so he keep battle and battle and battle...

his win rate is so low but he dont even reallize it. a win  is like winning a supercontainer for him

but then he made a good decision

he join forum...

he PM the most active player on the forum who like the fastest DD for advice..

he got introduce to may other player

he start using voice chat

he start watching streams

he become more aware to game and start to win more often

now that boy have a 53% win rate.....

and he will try his best forever

The end.....

so yeah.. maybe that plaayer dnt know how to improve?

How many games did the 13%er have.  It would seem statically impossible to get that low.  Surely the law of averages would balance out a higher win rate.

This. The lowest winrate I've ever seen with enough games to make it fairly authoritative was in WoT in the low 30s, and you'd have to be far worse than AFK or a bot to get that %. I can't see how you could get 13% unless the sample was fairly small.

Possibly the serial TKers. By TKing other, the victim becoming crippled and the TKers himself might die from the penalty. That's almost equal 2 people in the team get taken out of the action. The winning chance becomes pretty slim when being down by 2 ships right off the bat.

Oh no, not the XVM, that mod is already (put certain illness here) in WoT.

I saw someone suiciding or quitting from the match in WoT because most of their teammates had low WR.

That's because some people are unable to understand the meaning of numbers and ratings shown by programs like xvm.

To me, personally, I use statistics websites and programs to improve myself, hence why I don't use xvm.

XVM doesn't give me enough feedback on my own performance, to put it into better context for WoWS:

It's like looking at your stats on Warships Today and only reading the useless intro lines and ignoring all the numbers below them.

To give you an example from myself and why I don't use stats to judge other players' performances:

On Warships Today it says the following for my SEA account:

  • Plays a mix of cruisers (excellent) and destroyers (excellent)
  • Deals a large amount of damage
  • Often finishes damaged enemies
  • Often uses torpedoes (when in ships that have them)

Notice the wording for the first two.

"Excellent" and "large amount of damage".

Meanwhile when I look at my performance I rate myself about average, probably more towards slightly below average.

In fact I would rate my accuracy as "meh", okayish at best.

My average damage on most ships as half of what I could do.

And my winrate as "decent".

That's because I expect myself to be able to perform better.

I can't expect some random dood on the internet to do better than he's currently doing.

Maybe he/she has some crappy job, always comes home exhausted and just wants to shoot some ships for recuperation.

Trade some words out and it's some poor sod still sitting at school, being too mentally dead after boring non-educational bladibla.

Married woman with 4 kids and the 20 minutes respite between children beating each other up over some LEGO toys.

Etc.

Hence why XVM serves only one purpose for me.

Same, i use sites like warships.today to check my improvement.

and to add another point why i don't trust WR that much, lets say i have over 10k battles, but only knew how to position myself, how the game mechanics work, etc. only after over 5k battles, and before that i was crap at the game, my WR will still be only around 40%-50%, and since its already over 10k battles, is hard to change the WR number.

Maybe they use the Pensacola? J/K, though since I advanced from tier 5 to tier 7 (received 80k free exp) and start bringing my Pensacola into battle, my win rate dropped a bit, from 55% or so down to 49.5%. Now I mostly play Pensacola because dodging torp while it's raining shell is kind of fun.

Don't skip tiers when your new because low tiers are for learning the basics, stock Pepsicola (which you probably also skipped) is rubbish and hurt my WR badly but upgraded it was great.

What a touching story. Yosh! Time to make a movie out of it! "

But honestly. Starting mods like XVM will produce more than this tho... cause im one of the potato players too

And having a teammate looking down on me on initial battle is not something i wanted to feel. At least give me and them a chance
