Done a few runs on the NA server, so to mitigate the amount of salt that would be generated from this quite difficult mode, here are a few tips on how to win in the mode.

Objective:

Escort the ship Transilvania to the portal at the other end of the map

Tactics:

  • The more ships there are in the circle, the faster the Transilvania will go. However, if it goes too fast, it will run into way too much trouble too early. I've noticed that you only need one ship inside the circle for it to go a the right speed (one of the BBs on your team will be the perfect candidate). All other ships should stay out of the circle as much as possible. When Transilvania is near the portal, it's safe to put as many ships as possible into the circle. If no allied ships are in the circle or if an enemy ship enters the circle, the Transilvania will not move.
  • As long as you have one ship inside the green circle, you can pretty much ignore any enemy ships that spawned behind the Transilvania. Do not go after the enemies coming from behind!
  • Catapults hit hard. VERY hard. Shoot them with AP as soon as you have line of sight with it. AP will deal max damage, so don't bother using HE on the catapult. A catapult can 2-hit KO a DD, and start lots of fires on everything else. Do whatever you can to kill the catapults early and avoid getting hit by its fiery rocks. Cruisers are the best suited for suppressing the catapults quickly.
  • Avoid getting closer than 3.5 km to any enemy ship (4 km for Rasputin). Their secondaries will start multiple fires on you.
  • DDs should focus on torping Zikasas ahead of the fleet and smoking ahead of the Transilvania once just before it gets near the Rasputin. Other than avoiding catapults and secondaries, don't worry about getting lit and shot at by Zikasas. Fire your guns at all times.
  • Zikasas have weak bows which BBs can easily penetrate.
  • Rasputin is not a big threat to Transilvania (unless it's at very low HP). However, it is a threat to you if you let it get close to you and lolpen everyone. Rasputin has crap tons of HP, so concentrate on killing the weaker Zikasa's first as you need to concentrate on reducing the amount of enemy guns as fast as possible before you have to deal with Rasputin. You need at least 2 DDs still alive to deal with it!
  • Don't put out single fires. You can even wait until you have 3 or 4 fires before using DCP.

Feel free to translate this into ZH/JA for the other language sections.

Good luck and have fun!

Edited OP with a crucial tip for DDs. If Transilvania has lost too much HP, it can easily die to fires and secondaries from Rasputin and its cohorts.

Note that DDs are crucial in helping to take down Rasputin - other ships aren't going to be able to go toe-to-toe with it. Don't get killed doing suicide runs on Zikasas, stay alive to help with the Rasputin.

Ok SEA updated now, so had a few goes ... fun! Suggest early on identifying someone to stay with Transilvania, and if it's a BB make sure they get there - had one game where Trans stopped before the first BBs from the other side appeared sad face

Catapaults seem to be fine ... everyone hits them easily, even DDs, but one cruiser is really all that's needed

DDs can really help Transilvania avoid damage, by taking it in turns to smoke up in front of Trans and her escort ...

BBs not too bad, unless you get too close, in which case the secondaries suck damage; so keep away. They are pretty easy to torp as a DD, esp the rear ones; so one DD can deal with 3-4 BBs coming from the rear pretty easily, provided the DD stays at the edge of detection range.

Rasputin is a problem - closest games I've had were down to the Rasputin and a BB, and after about 5 games I've still not completed all requirements in any one game - all I can think of is to target Rasputin as soon as it appears, get it on fire then keep hitting it. Maybe designate one or two ships to keep hitting it while the rest deal with the BBs?

Its........ok.    4 games in and I found it to be a little monotonous.  it took 3 to get a team to work together for a win.    Not saying that that will be the overall feeling but I never really get much out of the special events.    They just don't tickle my fancy

I've had some weird battles in this mode but its still fun

1. DD's not loading can cause instant loss

2. an idiotic BB intentionally blocking the Transilvania saying it'll give us more time to kill enemies, causing rear enemies to catch up and box us in the final battle

3. allies going backwards to fight the rear enemies that are irrelevant

People staying behind every battle. 4 battles, 4 losses, 1 hour spent and nothing to show for it :(

Thanks but no thanks.

Big big tip.

Right at the start of the match? DDs, don't go into the Transilvania's circle immediately. Let the battleships and cruisers do that. Jumping in early as soon as the match starts means your battleships are going to have to play catch-up for the first bit of the game, and if you leave the circle before they can catch up and get in, the team fails the optional to keep the Transilvania moving.

Battleships are there to meatshield the Transilvania. Let them do it from the start. Instead, hover around outside the circle to torp the Zikasas before they get anywhere near.

Why no xp awarded?

Captain can gain skills, but you cannot gain any xp to get the skills.

In fact, I received no awards.

Am I missing something here, or have I misread?   Or is it a bug?

Some good tips Syanda, but we all know the minority of players come on here and will see them.  6 games have been dogs breakfasts and one game was a win for me.   Feeding tips in chat helps sometimes and others I may as well have been talking to the wall.

Too bad every DD I met like to make cruiser and BB play catch up and ultimately lose the game
