Yeah, fully agreed, UK CLs are überpowered right now.

I advice bringing the news to every social media outlet you know, so that everyone starts grinding up this OP as cake line.

i just met a minatour. He stay around max range (possible upgraded range). And keep raining AP on montana until montana didnt know what to do.. Poor him..

2 questions:

1: Since they only have AP are they useless in killing bastion fortifications? (not that it matters anyway)

2: If the community wanted WG to do something special with the British CLs, then isn't them being OP part of the plan? (and that, kids, is how power creep spreads)

I enjoy being hit by AP from UK CL's especially in a BB's as they don't penetrate and simply bounce off

 

Last night some poor Minotaur player was hitting me in my Montana, by my count he did maybe 100 hits, all for less than 125 each..... Tbh, he probably shot at me over a 1000 times.

Anyways, After killing a much bigger threat, (Zao) I switched to HE, put a broadside in to him and the poor Minotaur player was gone in less than a second. This mind you was at 10 km.... OP, nope - just different, so in my opinion, learn to counter there strengths and use there weakness's against them

But guys in a few days/in the next patch the stealth fire is being nerfed/no more stealth fire(good thing for bbs yay) moment you fire your guns your detectability automatically becomes the range of your main guns

I think RN Cruisers are, frankly, a bit OP.  In the hands of skilled players, they bring far more to the table than any other ship line.

 

The main perks of RN CL are excellent AP, hull repair, smoke, excellent torpedo armament, and most importantly, broken stealth.

 

Lets start with AP:

RN AP is frankly, broken.  Having an arming thickness of 12mm means even the hull armour of small botes like DDs can arm the AP fuse, that coupled with 0.004s fuse delay, means that the only way you can overpen is if you hit skinny superstructure, or hit insufficiently thick armour.  This, combined with the long range plunging arcs of the AP shells, mean that you can pen anything at log range, angled or not.  Likewise, typical angling maneuvres against other AP does not work on RN.  There is no way you can angle against this thing, unless you bow on at close range (and they will just aim superstructure).

 

Then comes the smoke:

100s smoke time is no joke.  The smoke puff is also large enough for slight maneuvres inside smoke to mitigate blind fire.

 

Let's not even mention the hull repair, which is available to T3+ ships.

 

Lastly, the most broken aspect of RN CLs would be the stealth.  You can stay 2km behind your DD, and suddenly slap an enemy DD with 5k salvoes, and breaking modules in the process (AP breaks guns, engines)

 

Of course, detractors would claim that the ships are paperbotes, and easy to delete.  But most CAs are also easy to delete.  In the hands of skilled players/coordinated divisions, these ships are brutal.

 

WG nerf pls, this toys too good for unicums.

 

They are very imbalance, but Royal Navy cruisers are very boring.  I have nothing more to say about this "balanced" light cruisers.
