I fear that WG with WOWS is gradually going down the same path as WT did.

The simple strategy is, introduce a new game with plenty of rewards to create a core player base, then change the core earning system so players earn less, then make requirement for earning any reward based on base XP, then replace daily rewards with a lottery system whereby you have to play more to get them with no guarantee of what you are actually going to receive. 

Subtle changes, although here not so subtle, which in time sees most core players leaving in disgust while new players arrive not knowing any different.

I am fully aware that this is a free to play game and WG needs to pay employees wagers, have spent money upon it.

I left a senior position with WT due to the path it was taking having known the glory days of fun without pandering to the needs of a vocal minority while changing the game for the worst.

I sincerely hope that I'm wrong.

The old daily missions is a lottery too. You can't actually choose what you get (you can switch one for another random mission per day, and that's still a lottery). And compared to the container system, you have less choices, smaller rewards, and depending on the mission (e.g. 15 torp hits) you have to grind a lot more. 37k XP is easy even for casuals. Or if you're really lazy, 2k XP is all you need for a container a day. And it's not base XP, it includes premium and modifiers.

 

With the container system, things are still a bit random, but the depending on what type of container you choose certain rewards are guaranteed. Picking the credits container guarantees some credits, flags container guarantees flags, etc. And you still have a chance of getting other additional rewards in it too. Overall, this is a bigger improvement since the daily missions will only reward credits and free XP. So I disagree with the statement that the players are earning less.

 

P.S. PT feedback threads are now open. Would be easier for devs to collect feedback by posting feedback for PT stuff in PT threads.

Except that the only thing that's an obvious lottery is the 'Try your luck' option. The other three gives a clear choice between flags, credits & consumables. Hell, its technically not a lottery either because if you're not lucky, you'd still get rewards albeit in a smaller amount. Bonus point from not needing to spend any cash to open the loot crates.

I don't see how these changes would drive people away. The new socialist biased economy is good for the team despite all the rambling from sealclubbers good players earning less than usual. 

From what I'm seeing, the change is for the greater good. More forgiving economy for the not-so-good and giving more stuff to keep people interested.

it is nice but takes way too much games to achieve those unless 3x XP bonus... Unless I saw it wrong lol but original missions I can finish in like 3 or 4 games

 

yep I just checked: 37000 XP for third box. IN ONE DAY. Guys seriously?

And some of so called sealclubbers good players i know have over 100m credits so that wont even bother them if they earn less :D:D:D

 

Actually it might be welcome since they can earn more flags and get free Premium ships instead of credits :trollface:

If it included all the bonus ill say it reasonable (which we need to see if WG going to change that in live SV or not), if not the 3rd box is for unicum only :trollface:

37k isn't that hard if you have multiple ships that you can play for the first win bonus. But it is indeed pretty hard for co-op only players and newbies

If people can get Takao in just a few days, getting 3rd container every day shouldn't be too hard. It's a reward for people who spend a lot of time on the game.

 

Casuals can get 2 containers, no problem. Busy people who only play 2-3 battles a day can easily get at least 1 container.

 

And yes, all bonus XP are included. I already said this earlier.

 

Better yet, why don't you guys try it out on PT right now and post feedback in the PT feedback section? :hiding:

Put exp flags (including the dragon flag) and use premium ships and account :P Then maybe only need less than 5 good match :P

 

Dragon flags are for captain exp if I am not wrong. Also, only a small number of players use premium account. And it's not like I'm going to win them all. There will be losses. Specially when I mount flags I lose, one reason I don't use flags.
