Nope, not at all. Go for Basic of Survivalbility instead.

With how Fighters can now just strafe your bombers with impunity, your planes won't ever get to use its rear gunner let alone such minor bonus the skill gives.

Basically skill tree for all CV are the same like this:

- Basic of Survivalbility.

- Torpedo Armament expert.

- Torpedo acceleration.

- Aircraft Servicing Expert.

- Air Supremacy.

- Dogfighting Expert only if you hate fighting against Saipan's Fighters, but that's about it. Torpedo speed is far more valuable, esp on IJN CV because they could not reliably cross drop on DD without torpedo speed boost.

You could trade Basics of Survivability with Basic Firing Training because you will meet a few 'CV-sniper' CV players.

what you mean by cv sniper? How they snipe me?

Any CV that didn't run a Fighter loadout is capable of sniping you. :hiding:

Just stack fire/flood at the right time and you'll be sinking if you didn't defend it right.

That's where BFT or BoS can come in handy and situationally save you.

It's not exactly rampant in our server so it should be alright.

i came across players who fly their 2 squad torp and 1 fighter at the edge of the map and then to your cv, then if your fighter engage and will only engage the enemy fighter leaving the 2 torp suad free and attacking your CV...

anyway to counter this?

If they are blobbing it by the edge, strafing is the way to go. That's the usual thing people would see.

If the enemy is aware and "will" be hard to strafe and is adamant in sniping you, do all you can to NOT get your fighter locked and put it near your vicinity or plainly call for ally AA. No matter how aware they are, you can simply strafe when they attempt to drop on you which will result in dead bombers.

This is of course assuming they can snipe properly in the first place, because if they can't, then you'd still stay alive even after the fighter lock.

Addition what to Suzy says, always move with the fleet, so you have time to plan your next action and you could bring AA divmate to keep accompany you, either US/RU cruiser.
