Well, first you have to wiggle a lot to avoid being shot or torpedoed. Then you have to know what is your torpedoes' range and use it from cover. After that, you could also use its guns while your torps are still being loaded. Finally, have fun doing it.

Any further tips would be given by this forum's DD masters.

Minekaze is a great ship. It has powerful enough torpedoes and guns are decent. The main thing about the minekaze is not being spotted. With concealment expert + camo the detection drops to 5.4km (which is pretty insane!). However, it's best not to brawl against any other DD other than isokaze or other minekaze. It's maneuverability should allow you to dodge most shells or torpedoes, but whatever you do avoid CQC as much as possible.

Using your superior concealment, you can play the minekaze in 2 ways. First way is to be aggressive and charge forward, being at the front of your team with your 42knot engine boost speed. Abuse island cover by slipping in and out of detection when enemies get too close and punish people who sail in a straight line.

For a more passive game play, keep your games long and spot for your team. Finish off damaged enemies with your torpedoes, or use your guns when you are in a spot that you will not be focus fired upon. This way I've found has been the best way to get kraken hehe.

Now grab a concealment camo on and set sail filling the waters around you with metal fishes! Remember to watch the minimap!

Note: avoid CQC doesn't mean you can't CQC. Particularly on straits domination at caps A and C I've sunk (and been sunk) many ships by CQC with torpedoes and guns.

You see that Kongou 8 km ahead heading towards you? Launch the torp.

Also you see that Scharnhorst 6km ahead moving away from you? Find another target.

Play with your speed and try to match it with your prey, don't go full speed all the time, do pre-emptive turn, and check your detectability

When brawling other Torpedoboat, make them give up their smoke and torp advantage if possible, and rush their smoke to face torp them (if the situation allows).   Against gunboats, kite to allies.  Minekaze has absurdly OP torps for the tier, with decent HE alpha (2640 per salvo).  Use its speed and detection to cap, and don't get too close to the enemy or you will get focused down.
