I always wondered what World War 2 would be like if America had all of its today technology same with Russians having the Typhoon Class Submarine and what not and if Yamato lived to this day what would she look like? This will be a place where Imaginations combine with war to make an interesting scenario as well as that if some ideas, theories and imaginative stuff is good enough it might just spark a whole new Naval Gaming industry who knows lets find out. Start this by thinking to yourself if World War 2 had todays technology how advanced do you think we would be right now?

Well, WW3 will end up throwing stones and spears, didnt you realize if something like that were to happen. Even if a different timeline, if the same technology is present, there will be a same result if we do WW3 today! :read_fish: :hmm: :red_button:

1.) Sea battles would be more boring as air battles would be the order of the day. Tank battles would be more exciting though.

2.) Submarines would be a lot more potent for Allies so the North African campaign would be much shorter as would the Pacific campaign as the off-bases could not be resupplied except by air.

3.) Missiles would replace cannons in bombardment and ship to ship battles due to longer range for the most part.

4.) Assault choppers would be joining the tanks in land battles and even assist troops in rugged terrain battles.

5.) Hello, chemical/biological warfare.

6.) ICBMs with conventional payloads would be bombarding Axis bases with help from GPS.

7.) Masses of bombers would be replaced by squadrons of strike aircraft with smart bombs or air to ground missiles to bombard Axis positions.

8.) War goes to cyberspace.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg too.

Ouch thats gotta hurt you know what guys this isn't bad keep them coming I like what you guys are coming up with this is awesome!

Now then we're gonna swing this discussion in another direction Hitler had a strong belief that big was best and if he could build bigger then he would and America already had the perk of mass production so they only built bigger if they needed too and what if Japan actually had the resources to complete their fleet to their full potential 4 Yamatos A-150's being built Montana on its way to the ship building contractors Grosser Kurfurst completing design stage and already going into discussion among the political parties of the Nazis you know all this stuff and Midway is undergoing its transformation to a modern carrier Hakuryu is nearing completion Japan is still expanding but are holding off their attacks on Midway Island for a bit longer so they can gain more numbers in their fleet you know think outside the box where do you think we'd be if this scenario was the real World War 2 and what would battles be like for land sea and air.

P.S sorry about my poor grammar I don't pay attention to that stuff when I get excited.

There would be no war because it would be too expensive. War is expensive. And everybody hugs their nuclear missiles because they know it's only a deterrent and if they do fire it would be mutually assured destruction. With modern satellite monitoring and radar, pearl harbour could've never succeeded. China wouldn't have let Japan just take it and the UN would have disbanded the league of nations, still it is a nice fantasy filled with michael bay level explosions

Actually Germans did have wonder weapons right ? Just Hitler denied most of them.

Germans had assault rifles, treibflugel, attack heli, ballistic and cruise missile, guided missile, AESA radar, jets, even drones.

Well, as you could see on German ships at WoWs, they lack money to buy better shell.

Money is always be a problem.

It would look pretty much like this

this is pretty much like most of WoWs CV gameplay. a carrier alone near the edge of the map without escort get snipe by the Enemy CV with Strike load out. :teethhappy:

Am I allowed to mention nukes? I mean, they would discourage massed formations we see at D-Day and most of the Eastern Front.

And population centers

And life in general

Well it is a valid idea but I'd say too overpowered plus it was nuclear bombs that ended the war but not bad you know thinking outside the box is good, I always wondered what Yamato would be with a single quintuple torpedo launcher on port and starboard.

Actually, it was atomic bombs that ended the Pacific campaign of the war and the nukes that followed it are ten to one hundred times more powerful than that. One nuke was enough to decimate a city the size of New York or Tokyo and body counts would fall in the millions not just to the blast itself but the radiated dust that would be carried by the winds.

For those who remember Chenobryl, a lot of processed milk made in Europe was immediately recalled for fear of being contaminated with radioactive materials. The same could be said for the river surrounding Two Mile Island in the US.

For the mods, please be considerate with this post as it is still not political in nature, but it is more scientific and historical.

Assuming (In theory) a "World War" happened in today's era and exclude the use of nukes (Due to M.A.D.) between two super power of equal/similar technology.

You'll have the attacking nation using ICBM (Land based) and SLBM (Sub) as a first strike on the defender's country to target their  ICBM systems and military/communication systems. This may also include a ground to space missile to knock out the GPS satellites that is vital to modern armies (They will need a backup plan if they do not want to use GPS)

After the initial first strike, if the attacker will launch their version of Blitzkrieg, first with long range fighter/bombers equipped EMP missiles to disable the front line AA capabilities of the defender, heavy bombers will come in to soften up the frontline for the MBT supported by attack helicopters to move in.

By this time the defender would have realized what is happening then they will counter battery with whatever surviving ICBM/SLBM they have. They will then send their tanks out in defensive lines to meet the incoming tanks in a (most likely) urban slugfest with murderous casualties from

From this point on it will end up as a battle of attrition, though a lot of factors can change how it will happen. Factors includes Carrier Battle Groups (CBG) fighting it out with each other for controls of the sea, long range stealth bombers dropping carpet bombs on in deeper parts of a country.

(This is just my thoughts don't shoot me historian buffs :P )
