a fool in myoko just sailed round the map no where near the circles to help cap while battlesheeps take a hit and run..only me and nagato try to hold our position try delaying the capping but got us killed..even my team is unbalanced because MM at least can try right than run away

 

but to some ship must stay shiny........or just so scared

This one and only Epicenter match I had, I specifically called out BB players to support us "little ships" as soon as I saw the usual pattern of BB manoeuvring into sniping position. Good thing though as my team BBs (luckily on my flank) did move into at least the outer ring, the enemy ships started to hide behind islands (they were pincer flanked, edit: i.e. lemming train) and their BBs flanking (my team on this side lost and left only one BB) outside the rings. Too bad our lone Farragut had to contest against 2 smoke-firing RU DDs. But we won the match.

 

To reiterate Gezeiten, it's not MM's fault, it's the players. My guess is some/most of these players are kids, sheltered kids.

Sure, MM puts too many BBs for my liking as a cruiser player (imo).

WG's reasoning is that they don't want players to stuck in queue for too long. So I doubt WG will tighten rules to filter out between bad and good players. WG did mention their MM will try to put you into "good" team after you had few losing matches. Bear in mind, RNGesus doesn't see it that way during a match :facepalm:

i'm even on a budyonny in that match fighting scharnhorst and 2 other with nagato while the myoko ran around nearly the edge of the map for who knows why completely ignoring the objective

 

even in chat ask for assistance but surely i'm even a bigger fool as nobody cared

 

so much fail in this single match alone

i personally dislike epicenter..

 

for cruiser i am dead meat.

 

for BB i cant play well enough yet so i am dead weight.

Winning team depends on the strongest DD (gunboat) player and the DD duel depends on MM, basically, your DD player has got to push into the centre and that its, gameover. The rest of the team just has to keep your opponents out of the outer circle so this map mode evens encourages sniping!

To quote the patch notes.

 

A new game mode, Epicenter (working title) was added to the Random Battle type. This mode is aimed at encouraging aggressive game play with close range encounters.

 

I knew when reading this that no matter what WG tries to do the aggressive game play with close range encounters will never happen given the range that BB's have.

Of course they are going to sit back and snipe trying to earn as much xp and credits rather than risking losing them by supporting the objective/team.

If they want to encourage aggressive game play then perhaps have all BB's start in the middle, then cruisers in the second ring followed by DD's in the outer ring.

Imagine the initial mayhem that would ensue. :D

I had a nice battle at this Epicenter, our camp started on South East side of the map.

My team BBs stopped at the strait between islands, they're shooting from there.

I thought they're brave since Fubuki was on enemy side, and also smart since they pick 2 Iowa to perch there.

I used Nachi at that time, IMO i wasn't giving much contribution except dropping torpedo salvos to prevent enemy team to encircle our camp.

They decided to lemming and encircle our camp from North side, which then i hug the islands, launched torp salvos to them, then retreat.

Our only DD stopped a few moments at center cap, he was going back forth to slow down enemy cap, with occasional scouting to enemy camp.

 

There was CVs at that battle. I was worried because she was late to load the game.

When i sighted enemy bomber, our CV still sitting cold. Our DD also started 1 min late. So much worries at the start of our battle.

At one occasion enemy CV managed to slip some bombers to damage our CV, gladly she didn't sink, survived with half HP.

Considering my lack range, since there were no one inside the center cap except that 2 DD from each team and a single yolo run from enemy CA;

I decided to escort CV a while until i felt she is safe, then i went to prevent enemy encirclement as i told earlier.

Actually enemy CV did second attempt to pick our CV, but they fled due my escort.

 

At the moment my torpedo salvos halted enemy advance, one torpedo struck an Iowa.

This Iowa later decided to reverse, moving backwards.

Amagi decided to turn right hiding between islands. Their cruisers making U turn.

And Freiderich der Grosse keep advancing a little further until she also turned right to hide between islands.

Amidst the panic, we spotted enemy Fubuki tried to provide smoke screen.

I don't clearly remember what else happened a moment later.

Probably because i astonished how our DD managed to kill enemy CV at north eastern part of the map.

Since she started the battle by patrolling the south western part of the central cap point.

But as the time runs out, we managed to sandwich Freiderich. Our BB at front, and me from behind.

She still stuck between island she fled into.

1s before the bell, my HE shell destroyed Freiderich, the last survivor of enemy team.

 change needs to be made to it like what ichase said in his video make it have sections like a pizza instead of one giant circle that no one will go near the centre cause torp central when theres less dd is see people rush but when theres  4-5 dds each side i dont see any other ship even look at the middle till later.

this game mode needs either a tune up or go back to the drawing board cause its a bit broken bastion i see people at least rush the points epicenter not even go near it
