Spotting Damange Conversations

So, I thought we could have a topic on Spotting Damange that is now in the game. :look:

For xp and credit earned from this, how should it go?

What rate from the people who shoot the ships or planes that you spot do you get?

Do you get credit for flooding or fire damange as well?

What about smoke screens for your team?  Damange prevented as well so DD's have more encouragement to team play and not yolo play? Or is this idea not even possible?:amazed:

Ideas and discussion so WG knows how to try out the economy in the future.  They did ask several times that we talk about this on the forums.  I really think they want this so they can create a system that their current player base is happy with.

3. In WoT, players are rewarded for spotting enemies whereas in WoWs, they aren't. Wouldn't be fair to reward those who allow other players to inflict damage by spotting enemies for them ?

A. We would really like to do it. Beginning with patch 0.5.9, we will start collecting server data regarding teamplay actions such as spotting and tanking. This data will help us set an economical reward for such actions in the future (hopefully not so far future). However, it's important to remember that in doing so, we don't plan to improve economic gains. When rewards for such actions will be implemented, the economy will take them into account when calculating final rewards and thus economical gains will remain as they were previously.

The smoke one may be hard. Sure if friendly ships sit in it you can track them but if they are behind the smoke are they using it or just lucky.

Economics of spotting would be interesting. In a t7 game as a Mahan i had a few fires and 50k of damage done via spotting out of 1.1 million potential.

Is the potential the full hp of the ship each time the ship is spotted?

If anything smoke screens would hinder DD's and anything else that uses them to shoot through or shoot from, as they're all using another ships view range to shoot at an opponent. It's this ship which is likely to get all of the benefit. On the other hand if a DD sets up smoke and then spots for the team hidden in smoke then they could do really well I'd imagine.

I don't see why you would get any additional XP for flooding or fire damage, initial damage yes, resulting damage doubtful.

There is a huge flaw with this system though, if you're spotting for someone you're still relying on them being able to hit the target before you get any XP aren't you, or do we assume you get a bonus amount just being the one who initially spots them (like in WoTBlitz).

Personally I'd like to also see a capping xp bonus based upon the ship type, least for DD's going all the way to max for those rare CV's cappers (don't laugh - it's happened). IE: the least likely it is to take a cap the bigger the bonus. Either way they just need to find that middle ground where it stops the campers racking up big numbers at the expense of the guys on the front line.

Here are some suggestions: savior ribbon for killing an enemy that is inflicting damage to an ally that is below 20% HP. Allied protection ribbon using smoke, where your smoke hides an ally currently under fire, 1 ribbon for each enemy they are taking damage from. Spotting ribbon: spot an enemy ship. Spotting reset assist: an ally resets the cap point but you are the only one that is in the enemy's detection range. Spotting kill assist: an ally kills an enemy but you are the only one in their detection range. Detection range without fire, shooting or AA gun buffer that is. Also make radar kill assist and hydro kill assist, aircraft spotting assist too.

Tanking damage would be extremely hard to calculate because it basically requires human judgement to tell if they are tanking or just being shot at for over extending.

We could also get a torpedo spotting ribbon, one for each salvo spotted. Basically the game determines which ship the torpedoes are targeted at, and if another ship or aircraft spots it then they get the ribbon. Whether that guy dodges those torps or not is a different story XD

would like to see an escort ribbon. obtained when you damage a ship or plane from x distance from your allied cv.

or ribbons you get when your fighters make enemy bombers mess their aim at a friendly instead of strafing them.
