for me

1. BFT

2.Last stand+expert marksmen

3.superintendent+(vigilance for 19)

4. Advance firing training + demolition expert

5. don't even bother

russian DD should be played as light cruiser escort. you position yourself little bit at the back of your allied destroyer to provide fire cover and harass larger ship with your main battery.

I'm only up to the Tier 6 (but have played around with the higher tiers on Test Server). You can easily do without Expert Marksman once you get past Gnevny. For the 3-point I prefer Superintendent since more Speed and Smoke are often handy to have in these gunboats. 4-point I think AFT is a bit better - your guns can make good use of the extra range (unlike USN DDs) while DE obviously only helps with HE rounds. The AP rounds on this line are excellent and shouldn't be overlooked for dishing out damage.

Concealment Expert is... situational. Since you'll be firing your guns for most of the battle and your concealment is relatively bad anyway, it's not as necessary here as on other DDs. Always nice to have, but you can definitely skip it for something else (like DE or Survival Expert).

1. Yes.

2. You absolutely must have Last Stand on all DDs, but you should get Expert Marksman whenever you can with your 'leftover' points.

3. I`d say it is better to keep moving and act like a dodge tank on Soviet DDs. Sitting in smoke with their slow acceleration and wide turn radius is very risky.

4. AFT first then Survivability Expert. Few thousand HP doesn`t sound much, but it makes a huge difference when it comes down to DD to DD combat.

It also prevents instakills from some torps when you have near full HP.

5. There is no such thing as concealment on Soviet DDs, forget about it.

Expert Marksman isn't necessary for tier6+ RU DD., well not before you get both DE+AFT and Vigilance+SI.

As long as you play RU DD like Cruisers (which you should), you can deal with that turret traverse. Having experience with Battleship helps too, and use that Ctrl+X command.

Go for AFT first, and if CE allow you to invisi-fire then go for it, if not dont even bother, russian "destroyer" arent made to be frontline ship.

Is CE also drops my detection after firing? Someone answer pls

1. SA BFT of course

2. Last Stand as DD engine or rudder tend to be knocked out

3. DD is a small ship with exception that Russian is bigger and more badass, but for me either of them really beneficial

4. Range is not everything if your main target is DD, so choose DE or SE instead

5. Jack of all trade

I'm about to respect and drop ce for demo + aft on my Kiev. Biggest issue with this build is people that see you a DD rather than a fast light harassing cruiser and expect you tomspot  the caps / scout out other DDs that put spot you by 2 km.

Once past the initial engagement CE feels, like it is of limited use. You do have a narrow invisi fire margin with CE, but it is very thin. But on this ship speed is your friend.

If it doesn't work I will swap back be for the repec discount emds.

On a side note, if u run udaloi u can go for a concealment expert build focused on torpedoes(e.gfaster rearm). It works for that ship only because of its torpedo config and layout.

+1

i try to replace my russian dd superintendent skill to vigelance and i kinda like it better. russian dd ruddershift are really bad so an early warning skill against torpedo are better than extra smoke screen and speed boost.

while your teammates abuse you in chat for not capping.

AFT and CE on Udaloi mean you can stealth torp (7.2km concealment with 8km torps) and you can stealth fire at 13.1km (bear in mind the Udaloi has faster shells than previous ships in the line).
