What do you think battles are going to look like when players are at skill cap?

Say, a 12 v 12 match, and all the players are almost top at their skills.

They know how to hit and how to dodge shells.

They know how to torp and how to avoid torps.

They know how to cap and how to defend.

They know all about the rock paper scissor cycle.

They use ships and captains with most possible upgrades.

They play using optimal strategy.

Will the game be boring? or super fast? Will the victory depend on match maker?

People are getting good everyday. So, say you are super unicum and you somehow got in a match with other 23 super unicums. How would you feel? How would you approach? I was just thinking about it. Cant really picture the scenario in my head yet.....

Skill cap has nothing to do with it, apart from the upgrades which any player can obtain through enough grinding, the rest of the points you mentioned are lacking in most players regardless of level at certain times.

There are times when you think "what the hell are you guys doing" and times when they probably think the same of me. No matter how good a player is or how good a player thinks they are there are moments when it's either is a close match or a one sided slaughter.

Alas, in many T10 matches plenty of players wont cap, sit behind islands and try and snipe from max range because they cant afford the repair bill or don't want to get into a slugging match because they are trying to make their stats look nice an plush.  Makes for a very boring match imo not to mention frustrating for some of the players on the the team.

It's hard to imagine what that would be like especially since probably half of the server don't even use the WASD hack.

Even in PvE!

skill cap as in knowing how everything works?
not possible i don't think there will be changes in the entire game because :
1. not all experienced players gonna consistently play tier 10 , range probably tier 5->10
2. there will still be players that won't get well in the game and continue playing just for the fun so every game you will have a few of these players

there u hav it

On a smaller scale, people who have played the first league of ranked battles will have experienced.  Of course this is a random match, since presumably the unicorns don't know each other

-Player coordination, actually sharing info like consumable cooldowns and where enemy ships are spotted (sometimes they are out of render range)

-Players go for objectives

-Players enter and defend objectives

-Players don't YOLO and die needlessly

-Smoke party

-BBs and CAs behind smoke, CAs using hydro and planes for torpedo spotting

-DDs skirmishing and probing the opponent's DDs, looking for mistakes to exploit

-Whoever who loses the first ship (particularly DDs) will be greatly disadvantaged, assuming it is not a trade

-As stated before, the party that makes the greatest mistake loses

-Sometimes, some spawns are more advantageous, the side that for instance, gets New Dawn south spawn will have an advantage.

-If CVs are in play, same thing, but players would be closer together for AA and DDs would tend to hide in smoke.

-Whichever side RNGesus is on generally wins, ceteris paribus.
