After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone 0.5.7 by approximately one week. The updated dates and times will be shared once they are finalized.

 

 

 

In reviewing the Public Test feedback, survey results, and game statistics, we identified some potential issues. We have decided to take additional time to investigate and work on these. It is extremely important to us to deliver the best possible patch.

 

 

 

We want to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the Public Test, and to provide feedback! This allowed us find this potential problem before the patch was published! After reviewing the results, we simply were not fully satisfied and your feedback showed that you too were not fully satisfied. We decided to invest extra time now in order to alleviate this issue.

 

 

 

Apologies for the inconvenience this causes. We want to assure you that we are committed to giving you the best possible update experience. Please note that we will NOT have server maintenance, or a server restart on the NA servers tonight (this morning).

Dear Captains!

 

 

 

We’ve grown concerned with some of the data and feedback we’ve received during and after the Public Test for version 0.5.7. Therefore, we’ve decided to postpone the release of the patch by 1 week and introduce further changes to the 3 points of major concern.

 

 

 

Secondary Armament modernization changes

 

Initially we felt that secondaries would be strong enough after we had fixed the accuracy bug that had plagued them for a long time, so the change was meant to balance out the gained effectiveness. Statistics also tell us that comparatively few players used these modules and only did so on very specific ships. However, we did not consider the fact that this would make certain builds obsolete and force users to totally re-specialize their ships and commanders. While such changes are still bound to happen in a game like ours, we want them to be entirely your decision based on an amount of equal choices and added variety – not because we took one of those choices away. We’ll take another look at this and other planned modernization changes in the next days and rethink our approach.

 

 

 

Removal of Standard Battle from top tiers

 

While we believe it’s better for the game in general, we agree that it also feels like we’re taking a part of gameplay away. We’ve decided to instead reduce the chance for players to encounter it, but we will keep this mode available in high-tier battles.

 

 

 

Cyclone weather preset spreading to more maps

 

You’ve raised concerns that this change feels like favoritism towards destroyers and their gameplay style. Previously, the chance to draw the North map with Cyclone active while playing high-tiers was in the region of 7%, while in 0.5.7, the overall chance to play Cyclone on any map will increase only by a very small amount. The chance for destroyer captains to totally dominate the match-maker and the battlefield will not be significantly higher than it is now, but the overall variety of map and gameplay environments will increase.

 

 

 

While the decision to postpone the patch was a hard one, we remain committed to incorporating your feedback into the development of World of Warships. Please bear with us on this one and go sink some ships in the meantime.

YES fewer standard battle at high tier. i really hate standard battle at tier VIII and above, lots of bb just don't even venture out of the cap circle and just wait for enemy to go near their range.

I must be one of the few players to like standard battles at high tiers, It can often be boring but some of the best games Iv'e been in are the ones where It has gone the distance and am able to have proper 1v1 duels with similar ships. While It seems that a lot of people don't like standard battles at least It is a change from constant Domination fights.

 

Personally i would't mind having Zone battles at high Tiers if they really want us to converge and engage at closer ranges.

Wargaming should remove all upgrade module and return the mount of credits to player, so the player could chose which one shall fit to thier ships and their style.

And yet Kirishima commander must be fixed and return to original Kirishima.

They should add voice for all Fog Commander and bring out Haruna

ikr, i'm planning to change some rudder to acceleration module. specially to larger ship and even dd.

Honestly, I wish they would just remove standard battles altogether from high tiers. It's really quite annoying to play high tier cruisers in standard, unless you're in a Zao or Moskva...

 

Well, I'm glad they tried to do something about it, at least.

Like, when is the next stage with the WoWS x ARPEGGIO Collab.. Am I the only one whose been checking the portal every few hours to see if there are any updates on that?

Can't remember where I read it, but apparently the Russians love standard battles and ranted about losing them just because Americans didn't like them or something. Per-server battle type distributions are apparently beyond them...

Really...? That's surprising. I have always thought russian players are the kind who tends to be playing more aggressively, hence they would like domination...

 

So my presumption is wrong, I guess, haha...

just had a standard battle at tier 10 with total of 12 BBs (i hink, half of the team were BBs), 2CV, 1 DD, and other CAs on both sides, in the map "land of fire", well as you can guess, that's a battle with least casualties (not more than 3 ships sunk) in full 20 minutes of battle, and yeah, basically everyone stick at their base respectively, sending big fat shells at each other more than 20km away. any attempt (which to be fair, I think both sides attempted to push, but when a BB hp dropped to half within first few salvoes, no one dare to do so anymore). the only DD (shima) in enemy team were tracked down and lighted up by our CV on vital occasions. Yes, it was a very stagnant battle, nobody dare to move forward to face the big guns on BBs (imagine 3 to 4 BBs shooting at you!)

 

I do welcomed the fact that WG cutting down the chances of standard battle in higher tiers. The repair cost, basically-dead-on-wrong-move... hmm...

 

But, when is Asia server turn to have a run of reduce repair cost trial for high tier ships!? is it because Asia players are richer? :P

 

And... anyone knows what is the exact changes in the modules for this delayed patch?

Domination has everyone splitting up to try to take the caps. Standard battle would have everyone joining up to get into one giant melee.

Regional playstyle i guess. Cant they just give favorable battle mode for each regions? or is that considered some sort of bias or impossible in terms of coding? just curious.

Each region has their own client, and I'm pretty sure it's a relatively simple altering of source code. So I don't see why it would extend patch downtime by much...?

i guess he meant in terms of ensuring the coding for each respective region is correct, otherwise, it will be not as intended, and therefore creating even more outrages. But yea, extended time frame for the patch shouldn't be an issue if WG is committed for each respective regional preferences in terms of playstyle. (or they think its just too time consuming, not worth the effort :trollface:)

This is a nice patch. But you gotta give CV some love as well :(

  • It is hard to say anything about the German CV line. However, there will certainly be a premium German CV (tier 8). No release date though.
