Extreme Lag - PING spikes

Hi,

First of all - I work in IT and there is zero problem with my local LAN or WAN or PC.

Important note : The following is the exact same issue for my dad who lives in a different area - and I have checked all possible other issues as per my first statement

For the past week I have been having lag issues, hovers around 105ms then every 5-10 seconds I get a spike to +150ms which causes pauses in the game.

This IS a new phenomenon.

for interest sake;

I monitored my CPU usage during a match - 28% max across all 8 threads (quadcore)

RAM = 32GIG DDR4

Local LAN usage from NIC was negligible

No other usage on the WAN interface

WoWarships - Thank you for your prompt assistance

had a trace running (ping plotter) during game play to both 92.223.28.75(login.worldofwarships.jp) Also the port which is open and connected during gameplay which I looked at today - and just logged into the game to double check points to  different 92.233.17.32 - 92.223.228.81 (both had different octets) but similar domain sg2-sl-b81.worldoftanks.sg and sg2-v-a32.worldoftanks.sg

Ping for all around the 190ms mark

seems there is two large jumps

Home 8 jumps to <<<< ping 45ms

 9 - 202.84.143.2  97ms

10 - 202.84.243.2  184ms

11 - 202.84.219.182 199ms

12 -> 14 1ms

There have been problems with the cables leading from Australia to Singapore for approx 6 months now which has been giving bad ping and lag.Thats probably the culprit.I usually get a better connection to the NA server than the SEA one.

Or go over to the Whirlpool forums and see the 90+ pages about the outages BP is suffering. In fact I'm having one now.

I don't know whether Internode uses the Telstra hardware.

I think we can all agree that the Internet here in Australia sucks!

there is a problem in HongKong with Telstra Global, if you are on the East Coast, you are going to go through HK to reach SG.

So we get to Singapore,the long way round!

Ok some more interesting information.

All the following are from South Australia.

Set-1 = Telstra Home Broadband

Set-2 = Internode Home Boradband

Set-3 = Telstra Business - my work

This is repeatable - with many attempts during various parts of the day. As for the target IP/DNS this was taken from the PC during gameplay which show the actual connection IP which I used for reference across all 3 traces.

You will notice that both Set-3 and Set-2 have less latency than Set-1. However what is interesting Set-1 does have better latency than Set-2 over to the 203.50.11.xxx subnet in Perth Australia

How do we get Telstra to look into this!

There is actually a Case Number for this issue, It's ANY Ip address in Sng, not just wg.

Long story short, the more people that call telstra and log an issue (and perhaps report the case number on this thread) the more they will realise there is a problem, because at the moment they are saying there is no problem. :P

Currently, I am unable to connect to the game. Early today, around 2pm, I was in game launched into a battle then was promptly disconnected and haven't been able to reconnect since. This is what I get when I do a tracert from my location here in the Philippines. Conversely, I am unable to connect to Blade and Soul game server either. I'm wondering if that earthquake they had in southern Japan might be the problem...or not.
