Historical Battles Mode

Might I ask if there is a plan to conduct such a mode as it was in World of Tanks? It would be very interesting, but then again, there is the issue on what warships were there in that certain battle, which means that one team might be at an advantage due to historical facts and vice versa. Besides that, the Historical Battles mode wasn't really popular in WoT with respect also to the number of players in ASIA. I do hope that there will be a certain duration wherein this mode could be released just so that players can have fun, at least for a while too before it dies. ^^

various suggestions been made since beta. this could be made but instead of pvp historical mode, make the enemy as AI so it will not make any issue of unbalance mm (muricas tons of pt boats, tons of dd, and tons planes trying to sink you while cv cap sipping its coffee) well depends on wg cuz you know, still lacking of ships, plus some historical battles are fought with subs too

How about something different. Like PvE mode but unlike the current PvE. Players have to accomplish multiple objectives like escorting NPC transport ships or a damaged allied carrier, defending a friendly base on an island from an amphibious assault,.. 

Secondary objective: Seduce Syanda with lewdness.

Honestly, It'll be very difficult to implement many historic battles as the imbalance in power in some battles were so great that it will negatively affect the gameplay and as a result the implementation of such a game mode becoming not being very resourcefully and economically viable. UNLESS WG manages to somehow balance the gameplay for PvP and/or PvE with a healthy demand from players.

 

Take the "Battle Off Samar" as an example. (Wiki Link Included)

I guess I would like to go against AI rather than fight players with unbalanced ships, haha. It was that "unbalance" that will cause irritation and stress towards the players and the would be the main reason why they will not participate in Historical Mode if ever this would be implemented. Hopefully, players will give more suggestion regarding this. Thanks bro! :D

I definitley agree on the fact that WG should invest their time in order to make this game interesting, enjoyable, and balanced. The only thing that I am concerned about is how would WG set the mode Players against AI, and what would these AIs do specifically that won't really alter the game and would still use the basic mechanics provided. I am thinking of a scenario wherein WG will implement a mechanic only for these Historical Battles and for a while that players will appreciate it, they will ask WG to put it in the random mechanics as well. But then again, we do not know if such mechanics will be put into use and how can it be beneficial. Heck.. the Historical Mode is still in the suggestion phase, haha. Lol me, me overthinking again. XD

Now that we brought this up to WG, the only thing we can do is to believe that they will heed our suggestions and carry out this mode given that it will be enjoyable and balanced, haha! I shall always believe in the developers of WG whatever happens and I should say that they need to learn from us more as well. ;)

Historical battles can and will only work with co-op mode. WoT clearly showed that the PvP playerbase couldn't give a damn about history. But co-op battles is also neglected by WG (meager rewards & only eight ships per side), so don't expect significant improvements anytime soon or ever.

I would suggest it be something like Dynasty Warriors where you play as a "mercernary ship" on either the axis side or the alliance side (depending on story) This way it doesnt matter what class your ship is, you just need to complete some simple objectives, while the story teaches u about the history. Imagine what it would be like!

"reward player with short cutscene of a memorable event regarding certain famous ships" 

Famous ships from the ijn side who have epic last moments include the shigure escaping whilst being covered by yamashiro

Or how ijn yuudachi went ham against usn destroyers

From the german side we can see the struggle of the BM

From the rn we can be taught the long history of the warspite

The list goes on and on

Very content heavy, yes, but really appealing to history fans. U can even reward players with stuff like equipment if they watch the whole thing.

I definitely agree on the part wherein there should be short cutscene to teach us about the history of that event or ship. If WG doesn't intend on putting this mode permanently then I suggest that release this mode for a certain duration. Let us say for the first week of december, the historical mode should be that of the Pearl Harbor Attack, though I don't know if people will like it or will it mean anything to the parties that were involved then to their relationships now and what have you other things to consider.

Historical battles could not work in WoT as tank battles were not just tanks. Infantry, air, engineers and other arms were involved in those battles WoT was trying to recreate. Also, everyone wanted to be the big heavy tanks- no one would take the roles of small tier TDs, making the queue take forever for a battle.

 

Samar Island was used here as an example. But look at the ship numbers and types used. WoWs hasn't the ability to properly recreate the battle using the same ship types and numbers..... Destroyer escort? We have none here.... 6 carriers on one team? The server wont handle it. ...Kamikaze attack planes? Not in this game......etc etc

 

I too, would like to see historical battles, but  IMO if it ever happens here, it won't be authentically historical, because reasons.

if U want do, contact ur friends and setup training room - there U can do whatever U want - pure BB battles, BB/CA group vs DD/CL divisions etc.

Tier 10 against Tier 3/4 and so on:B

Just wish numbers of players and gametime would be better - 

 

Suggestion to WOWS -> why limit the players in Training room to the ships they have ?

Would be an excellent promo if players could test all ships and maybe a mayor stimulus to obtain permium ships or to grind down a certain line

to achieve the ships u like / which fit ur playstyle ???
