My List of Suggestions for World of Warships

Greetings,

 

I have decided to make a simple topic with all the suggestions I feel that need to be implemented to improve the experience of the Simulator, here is the List:

 

1.Historical Flags (each country should have it's historical flag, if I need to pay like 3 or so dollars I would do it)

2.Free Roam( option which further extends into learning how to maneuver the ship, sink abandoned ships or get familiar with other systems such as AAA, Torpedoes)

3.Dynamic crew members( seeing crew members at their stations on the ship doing their job) currently the ships feel like they are ghosts because there is no crew to visually represent the actions.

4.Voices, when operating a ship whilst under a country, we should hear their country's voice not American for all.

5.Improved ship,gun fire sounds. I have played Silent Hunter Series which has very loud booms and impressive sounds when it comes to the warships and cannons and all of that.

6.Improved effects when it comes to gun fire, smoke (kinda like the video that's played)

1. WG try to not offend anyone regarding the flag like Swastika Nazi and the Japan's Rising Sun. You are still able to get them from the Mod that someone make

2. Ah you mean Somekind of Testdrive, you can still do that with the Mod tha enable Training room, but regarding the WG themself i have no idea

4. Coming soon, Confirmed, but yet in the priority

5. They still are trying to impreve the sound up until now

6. Back in Alpha test, Smoke is really thick that you can't see anything apart from 500 meter around you.

 

Also' improving ans adding something that are graphical is not in WG priority so far as i heard

I would quite like it if when you were using AA, the main guns or torpedoes, then whatever was not being used would go into auto aim and fire. That would be handy. I think it was like that in Battlestations Pacific & Midway.

IIRC, the reason why they don't show/animate crews for ships/tanks is to keep the Age Rating as low cause you know, we aren't "killing" anyone. Same reason why we don't have stuff like kamikaze planes e.t.c

Regarding number 3, WoWS does not have animated human crew for the sake of game ratings. The developers want to maintain a 12+ age rating in Europe and Russia, and adding visible human crew means that you would need visible human death, which would up the age rating in many countries.

 

For the same reason, you cannot see tank crews in open-top vehicles in World of Tanks, such as the M18 Hellcat.

The Nazi Germany Swastika is banned in Germany. The Japanese Rising Sun Flag as far as I know is not banned but is not in the game out of respect to the Chinese audience.
These flags are however, free to be modded into the game.
The German Reichsmarine flag is not banned but is not in the game. The Devs stated that adding it is a possibility but is at a low priority.

2. Free Roam( option which further extends into learning how to maneuver the ship, sink abandoned ships or get familiar with other systems such as AAA, Torpedoes)

Training room mod - Official training rooms implementation is of medium priority.

3.Dynamic crew members( seeing crew members at their stations on the ship doing their job) currently the ships feel like they are ghosts because there is no crew to visually represent the actions.

Not planned, same as WoT. However, maybe mods can add static crew members.

4.Voices, when operating a ship whilst under a country, we should hear their country's voice not American for all.

​Planned. Medium Priority if I remember correctly.

5.Improved ship,gun fire sounds. I have played Silent Hunter Series which has very loud booms and impressive sounds when it comes to the warships and cannons and all of that.

6.Improved effects when it comes to gun fire, smoke (kinda like the video that's played)

Both 5 and 6 are being worked on.

 

 

Currently the highest priority from Dev Q&A are:

1) Game optimization - So your games dont take 21 years to load.

2) Anti-TK and Anti-Bot Measures

1. There are mods for that, there are many and only you need to do is google search it. So you wouldn't have the chance to convince WG to do it because it's their stance on those issue.

2. I would suggest you do CooP for that, the better until you get your free roam.

3. WG mentioned that players want to see bloody gore or not, they're not going to implement them. Same reason for WoT (& maybe WoWp), as those factor would rise the game age rating for this game.

4. Suggestion already considered. But it'll take time because it's not their priority at this moment.

5. They just improved it recently (forgot which patch number though)

6. You may want or try to raise the graphics settings for that, it's under 'Effect presents' & 'Effect quality'. People with good graphics card on their computer enjoyed that.

Well with the swastika Flag, thanks to alot of propaganda and lies, sure the world has been made to hate it as well as Germany. the nazi flag was never the flag of germany. It was the national socialist party flag, a political party in Germany. The origins of the Swastika however go back to the Ancient times, the symbol is found on all Ancient cultures. The word ‘swastika’ is a Sanskrit word (‘svasktika’) meaning ‘It is’, ‘Well Being’, ‘Good Existence, and ‘Good Luck’. However, it is also known by diffrent names in different countries - like ‘Wan’ in China, ‘Manji’ in Japan, ‘Fylfot’ in England, ‘Hakenkreuz’ in Germany and ‘Tetraskelion’ or ‘Tetragammadion’ in Greece. I would love to do a history lesson which may or may not make you question everything you've been taught about History, Hitler, Germany and that time period.

 

But, ok I'll have a look for the mods, are there any mods in regards to the human crew visible?

So far, none, but don't worry, it is possibly allowed if someone can actually create them

 

as for the Swastika

it is not about the meaning of the Symbol

but the Usage and what the victim see when it was happened in world war 2

ask those Conscripts and French (most of them are no longer here), what symbol they will remember first when they hear a word "Nazi"

 

same as Rising Sun flag

It depends which version of history we've been taught, that's kind of critical. I do investigate alot of things in my spare time as an independent researcher, do have the courage to question alot of things two. I am more than happy to explain what I have discovered and understood, but I feel it would best be done via a inbox method. Do appreciate the leads on making the game more historically accurate (personally) and letting me know about the other suggestions and where they stand

Doesn't matter how historical it is. It's not going to happen because it not only runs afoul of some regional laws, and it also has too much of a negative stigma attached to it that all the other alternatives can't make up for.

 

Socio-political discussion of Hitler and/or the Nazis is not for this forum. Do it elsewhere.

1. no, too many will be offended and as wows rules this shouldn't be allowed except you can mod it and you and only can see it

2.it can happen if wg implements. choose a high tier map which is very wide and can practise manoeuvre there

3.after 10 mins of battle, you can now see how bloody or gory your ship is due to 1000+ crew members were injured and blood flowing on your ship's trail. well

   like other people said here, wg wanted to have a lowest age rating as possible. 

4. i really hope so too!!! when a japanese ship press f5, it will heard as japanese, same with german or russian

5. they upgrade the sound close as the actual one as possible and some need some sound physics like when a distant ship like yamato fire, you can hear a delay but loud boom or something

6 they are actually using an animated 2d pictures of smoke and animate it in sync to the ship so smoke like the video cg is kinda different

I've had another idea:

 

Make it so the enemy or "bot" ship dose not have a flag up. One of the biggest mistakes the war gaming simulators make is that you end up fighting with a ship with has the same flag as you do. If this is what happened in real life two, I would not be surprised. Can we make it so the enemy ship dose not have a flag? or at least make it so you are not sinking an enemy ship with the same flag as you?

There is a solution for No.3..............Have a look at what the Developers of War Thunder have done. They have defenetly added crew members which move around, however when a crew member is shot, they have chose a less gory way to show this. The same principle can be applied here, if sucessfull it may be good to also add voices like "man down the deck!" plus a few other useful speeches. The game already is Violent, you basically simulate Battles on the Ocean with ships, cannon fire and all these exciting things, it's just how it is. Check out some of the other features War Thunder has made and use some of the ideas here like X-ray vision to see what kind of armor plating exists and how thick it is and all of that, good to know

Another Suggestion came to mind:

 

This suggestion is inspired by Silent Hunter Series, the captain (you) have a manual which you look through to identify what ship is in the horizon which tells information about it so you can plan your attack. This can be used when the game has "hardcore mode" with absolutely no assistance from Gui and you must do everything manually (that's always fun, kinda like when the power goes out at your house so you have to use a candle or ligher)

thats the reason why Warthunder is PEGI 12 and World of Warships is PEGI 7, which WG pushes their policy of much audience as possible 

I've had another idea:

cuz this game is not a simulator. its more of an arcade game.

tbh this looks fun. but first your team should be with the same nation so when you see a ships not shaped like your nation's ship then go full broadside. also worst possible scenario  is like the Battle of Guadalcanal, you IJN Yuudachi just fire anything not knowing if its allied or foe in nightbattle. but this surely breaks MM balance

According to PEGI, War Thunder has a age rating of 12+ while World of Warships is rated 7+. Why 7+? I have no clue but I guess one of the reasons why War Thunder is able to do staic crews is because of their higher age rating.

On flags down for enemy ships + bots.

Its already "unrealistic" that we have Axis and Allied ships fighting against each other, I don't think it matters what flag they have outside of representing the origins of that ship's nation.

 

As others have said, this isn't a simulator its more of a vehicle based shooter(RTS for CVs) themed around early to mid 20th century Warships.

Most of the things you have suggested wouldn't really fit in the gameplay style that WG has set out to make, granted maybe a few years down later where we have fully fleshed out tech trees and get certain mechanics down right then maybe we could see WG start branching into stuff like hardcore mode or revisiting historical battles.

Please do not suggest anything that could result in changing the sound of my Tirpitz main guns, they sound beautiful, Seeing crew members running around or getting blasted off the deck could be a bit full on but pretty cool, would be very taxing on your computer system... Voice accents depending on which races ship you are using would be pretty cool though, Personally I think some of the sounds are quite cool, I love the crackle you can hear when ships in the distance get hit, but no sound in the game equals to the sound of staged firing on a Tirpitz though, cant wait till I finish work! :D
