New CV player requirement

For all players that finally get their first tier 4 CV it should be mandatory that they must first play 20 co-op battles before being allowed to play random battles.

All other ship types require you to grind through the early tiers so at least you have some understanding of their play style.

Frankly I'm getting sick of covering and helping CV players, at times to my own game earning disadvantage and sometimes death, only to see in the final battle results that they have contributed nothing to the overall team effort and have only shot down 3 planes for example.

I have always been a team player but I'm getting to the stage of just leaving CV's to their own fate.

Also make the grind between CV tiers harder as some tier 5 CV players aren't much better.

I got both tier 4 CV's some time ago but having realized that I'm no good in them they now just sit there in case of challenges. I suggest that some CV players out there do the same.

I have to agree with this. CV are different to play.

I personally did 3 games as co-op to get to grip's on the CV mechanics.

Its a good area to learn how different they are to play and to make you more skilled at them.

How about if I am a very experienced RTS expert and not even bother to waste time with AI?

Well, anyway, I hate those CV noobs partners that knows nothing but auto-attack or wasting their planes getting all strafed down.

WG please make 2 CVs in one division again.

conjecture on the assumption on being good at RTS transferring to this environment.

I do concur on plane wasting though. You still see CVs send pplanes over two clevelands to just see them be wiped out.

I once had a Taiho asking how to launch planes.

This game needs more explanations/instructions in general.

Not sure if that player being sarcastic or what. I might accused him for buying game account.

But really, Carrier players must play several Co-Op matches as they might not keep up against another newbie or experienced (from CBT) CV players. OP got a point there.

Personally, wish WG would balance US & IJN CVs a bit. For example, at T6 a Ryujo can have 3 squads of fighters & 1 each of bombers & torp planes, yet the poor US CV can only put up 2 fighter squads at best & only have 1 of bombers besides this. This makes it pretty easy for the IJN CV to dominate the skies & still do a fair amount of dmg to enemy ships.

I really think it would be best also if no more than 2 squads of fighters can be put up at once below T8 at least. What's the gain, in spending most of the game shooting enemy planes. You gain little XP or coin for shooting planes.

Really like the idea of Co-op for newbie CV players.

That's it, I've had enough and from now on all CV players will get no support from me even if I'm right next to them.

Just finished a match on the ocean map where 2 other DD's and myself were trying to cap and then hold them while all the time being shadowed by the enemy CV's 2 fighter groups and slowly being torn to pieces. All this while our CV sent everything he had skirting the map edge vainly looking for the enemy CV.

Seriously, 90% of all CV players are absolutely useless and have no idea of their role and how to adapt to different maps.

Yes this is a rant.

i' m oppose it to your idea , my poor INJ CV 4 plane always get [content removed]/down by US CV fighter plane which have 6 plane in each squads when it discovered, I always play 1 squads fighter, 2 squads torpedo, 2 squads bombing.

Inappropriate. Post edited, user warned.

I feel your pain, especially in high tier DD gameplay, I have all the camo and mods for my Benson kitted out, but the skilled CV players simply park fighters over you all day and dive bomb you to oblivion and if you don't have cruisers or friendly carriers helping (American dive bombers are worse having less dispersion even with AA Bombard from cruisers on), you're screwed.

You'd be in the minority IMO, in most of the battles I see IJN & US CVs focus too much on hunting enemy planes. Sure it's part of the game, but to me that shouldn't be the primary objective of any CV captain. Others may prefer just shooting planes, but I think it's a wasted opportunity to not focus on enemy ships. This is after all, World of Warships, not World of Warplanes.

Just had a game where our ally CV asked for AA support and our ally Kutuzov was happy to oblige.

Then the CVs of both sides tried to snipe each other. Our CV didn't even move resulting in the enemy CV getting pretty much perfect manual drops which then had him sink. Then of course, the enemy CV was free to provide DD vision and bombs away.

I have no problem with CVs asking for AA support (I personally don't ask for it when I'm in a CV) but at least be a harder target by at least moving. I really feel sorry for the cruisers that do the escort job when these things happen.

yep, i feel your pain man, i helped out a moronic taiho today, shot down 46 plane for him(and a lex), smoked a screen  to protect him from essex's bombers , and got out of the smoke to be a better target then. and the taiho ran out of the smoke(i told him not to move), didnt even try to dodge and got ripped to shreads by essex and the lex on the other side.

i'm never giving AA to any CVs i dont know personally any more
