lol, back before 5.2 a USN DD could beat the crap out of you just by repeatedly knocking out your engines.

After we knock out the engine, we will repeatedly spam AP to the side of Nukeberg and scoring multiples citadels then we will finish of the poor cruiser with torpedoes :D:D:D

I got detonated in my 3rd game in the Nurnberg so I can sympathise with you. :D

From what a few others have said, the higher tier ships probably have slightly better armour but with worse maneuverability since they are pretty big ships. :hiding:

Nurnberg is literally the worst of the bunch, basically any AP shell that hits it is an autocitadel..

Higher tier German CAs have better survivability, they have increased HP pool and citadel that rides lower than other CAs..

Though the downside is due to the armour layout, they are easier to get penned than other ships..

Yep, they're pretty much play like battlecruiser..

Thats too humiliation :(

As humiliating as advancing on to a Mutsuki C hull and being detonated by Mutsuki guns :amazed:

Please don't say that, Nurnberg is so painfully slow, i don't want to advance up the Kriegsmarine line anymore if it gets worse

Maybe you could check out some of the Roon/Hindenburg commentaries this guy made to see if it's worth your time. :D

I just had my Nurnberg delivered to me half an hour ago and I had my first game with her... When I fired my first salvo I was like "DEM GUNS!!."... but when I recieved a full salvo from a Warspite, I was like "DIS ARMOR!?"

Yeah, they pretty much play like battlecruisers as from what I've learned in the Konigsberg...

But honestly, I think I'm gonna have a good time with her even though our first date ended in disaster... She's a straight up Konigsberg with amplified both in strengths and weaknesses... and semi-sub-orbital-shells...

Looks like I'm putting her up for a skin mod right now...

Keeping your distance on a German cruisers is a must, i learn one thing when i play Karlsruhe always sticking with friendly cruisers and battleships...well in some situation you being alone and defenseless... YOLO with them.

Just let you know, all European nations cruisers are fragile, they're not tough compare to USN and IJN cruisers as the EU cruisers were fought in a different battles, they were design as escort and raider, while some of them are well-armed but the armor only sufficient to withstand against smaller guns and not meant to take larger forces. Learn and adapting it, when RN cruisers release as dev stated this months, they're also fragile much their German colleagues.

To me the problem in the Nurnberg lies in the maps and enemies that higher tier combat puts you in.

In Konigsberg, you are faced with mostly newcomers that loves<3 to show their belly~ Not to mention their thin armor combined with smaller maps makes you ideal in this situation. Battleships don't really scare you since they have less than optimal range and dispersion whilst cruisers tend to have small caliber guns that don't deal that much damage to you. Your torpedoes have reached their peak potential in the german line as well, further adding to your advantage.

In Nurnberg... Chances are you're going to meet enemies that have dangerous HE shells which probably would knock out your engines, a lot. The type of combat also works to your disadvantage as you are often engaging enemies in long distance fights(which requires decent HE shells to perform reliable damage yet you don't have this soo...).

In short, the weaknesses of the Konigsberg is a lot less noticeable due to the terrain and enemies that it face in it's tier yet it's becomes apparent in the Nurnberg. Tbh I think that 19.8 km range in Nurnberg is kinda pointless, since you're gonna reveal yourself a lot more and chances are the enemy would dodge your shells. But hey, take my words with lots of salt since this came from a guy with really lousy stats.

That ship is a glass one, I remember that time when I use my Nagato that I spotted a enemy Nurnberg with bow pointed at me then I fired at him even I know that damage will be low since bow pointed front will deal less damage and I was shocked that I sunk him with 2 citadel hits and some shell hits and I was like, "Really??!! That's a glass ship we have here!!

The Nukeberg did help me amass quite a fair number of Juliet Charlie flags (from detonation!). It is a floating citadel (why do you think we call her the Nukeberg?). Engines use to be knocked out even from splashes at the rear, even from DD guns!! Not sure if this has been improved as I still have Propulsion Mod 1 installed. Despite all these shortcomings, she makes good money when matched with the right team. Just remember to play her in a more supportive role. Keeping her hydroacoutics (as her AA capabilities are quite crappy anyway), she can be a very capable DD killer. Alas, with the coming nerf on BFT (and AFT), her ROF will be somewhat affected:(

Interesting that the perception some people have of "Battlecruiser" seems to be based on the RN stereotype (which traded armour for speed and paid a terrible price at Jutland and much later in Denmark Strait).

The German BCs actually had pretty decent armour, instead trading guns for speed.

Actually, Germany had treaty restrictions on their ships' main guns and the reason why they didn't mount larger calibers on their cruisers and battlecruisers. However, when they launched the Bismarck and Tirpitz, they tore up that treaty thumbing their noses at those that placed these restrictions on them. Furthermore, the Scharnhorst class were slated to upgrade to 15" guns. The Gneisenau was in the process of receiving them when it was ordered to scrape her.

Alas, KMS ships in game seems to have traded everything away, poor armour, slow speed, low shell damage...ok, ok, they have decent ROF

The Warspite gets +50% penetration against German ships.

*Sips Tea*

They do? Why only German ships? That's just plain discrimination I tell ya... :teethhappy::teethhappy::teethhappy:
