why do we have to repair undamaged ships?

i'm trying to play the Yamato for free

so not getting damage is important. winning basically means nothing,

trying to survive the game is everything.

 

i have to pay a minimum of 35k for ammo for every game [sometimes closer to 90k]

but i've noticed i have to pay 46k even when i finish the game at 100% for REPAIRS.

 

this really reeks of being ripped off.

what's the story? why do i have to repair an undamaged ship?

ammo costs are separate, so no they're not built into the repair cost.

fuel i suppose. i'm not sure pottering around for 20 minutes should cost you 

more than a whole destroyer though.

this game reeks of money grabbing more and more everyday.

 

after the rudder shift fiasco, it's almost impossible to avoid torps now.

i hope they give bb's a break soon, or they will go the way of the cv.

dd's don't even fear us at all anymore.

they come looking for us from the other side of the map,

and don't think twice about taking us on, and quite often sink us.

it will be world of CA and DD soon. i hope this game doesn't turn into a huge turd like WOT

And that, my friends, is a balanced game. Where all classes envy each other while their own class is envied by others.

Illogical and nonsense answer. Please ask WG to make a detail report of Cost expenditure, so we are not guessing. And as the game are arcade but forcing "Fuel" cost like reality is just weird.

This is an arcade, not simulation. Simply repairing cost and ammunition refill. Other than that, using "similar to reality", people gonna start asking this game to be reality !

 

Example !

"AA in this game are OP, AA in reality are like this ..."

"A Cannon can do that ? Cannon in reality are like this ..."

"Ship cannot maneuver like that ! because in reality is like this ..."

 

Stop reality nonsense by remove the "Fuel" cost, like getting 1 critical hit is not problem enough for high tier players.

Probably for crew wages, your ex-o's alimony, snacks and drinks, insurance coverage in case of accidental death and/or dismemberment of personnel, laundry detergent, postage stamps... ya know... grown up stuff...   :teethhappy:

Detailed report of cost expenditure. EDIT: Looks like the topic has been removed. IIRC, though, there is no maintenance upkeep for lower tier ships. Ships up to tier 7 will have little trouble making a profit on matches unless they're played extremely badly.

 

As stated many times before, the high costs for tier 10 is to ensure the lower and middle tiers remain populated for game longevity. Multiplayer games with tier progression will die out if the bulk of the player population hits the maximum tier, making it difficult for new players to find matches to progress. At that point, the only option is to expand the top tier, resulting in power creep.

i have to play in the nagato for 2 or 3 games

just so i can have one game in the yamato,

and then i get expenses i don't even understand.

is it too much to ask that you tell us why you're taking our money??

lets remember that credits have a real world value.

you don't sell something to someone without telling them what they're buying.

like i said it reeks of scam. i just got sunk in an unbalanced 16 player match,

and it costs me 390, 000 credits. [with ammo] it's absurd

As with all wargaming titles the higher tiers are taxed for want of a better word to force players back down to the mid levels to maintain population.

Not directed at anyone not sure if it's relevant as well but I love it how people complain about how realistic they want the game to be then complain that they have to pay for fuel in the post-game xD

Its weird cause we don't do that in world of tanks. You don't even pay for the dings in your tank for ricochets and shit. And it look brand new in the next battle. Well as brand new as Soviet Tanks can be :trollface:

Nothing in this post answers the OP's question of "why do i have to repair an undamaged ship?".

 

As others have pointed out, it would seem that high level ships have an innate credit cost regardless of how much damage they take, so that there's constant downwards pressure to a) prevent credit inflation, and b) encourage players to play lower tier ships regularly. But it's a bit confusing/misleading for that innate cost to be included in the ship's repair cost. Maybe if they split it off into a category of its own and named it "ship maintenance" or something so that players can be more aware of it?

Well then why talk about the economy in top tier when fuzzjunky's post doesn't mention that at all? Isn't that directed at the OP, or the thread topic? If not, why post it?

You didn't quote that post originally. Furthermore, in that post he asks the same question as OP does as to why they're losing credits for things that they don't understand i.e. paying for repairs even though they didn't take any damage. Yes, he ends his post by mentioning the high repair cost of a Yamato, but the rest of the post is a reiteration of what OP is asking.

 

So I'm asking you straight out, R3negade, why is it that apparently players need to pay for repairs on Tier X ships when they finish the battle with 100% HP?
