look, if all of your ships are at one side, then you can crush anyone who spit up and less players on the other side=more of a chance that you will win, you already have one point for sure by then, just pick off the rest and you can win. easy logic

Yeah but the problem of that strategy not discussed in the video is if you do not protect your flanks you'll find yourself surrounded, cutoff from any line of retreat, and annihilated. Ultimately, this is what happens in most games when a everyone goes in force to a side. Leaving the entire side undefended allows the enemy to come in and capture the base. Which, in turn, causes said team to fall back to stop the cap and they run into a waiting enemy who is ready for that.

If a team wants to push a side, do so; however, of 12 ships, take 7 leaving the rest as a blocking force so they can delay the enemy enough that the others can return to push them back if they are needed. But in most cases, a strong force pushing one side causes the other team to fall back to defend their own area leaving themselves open for the blocking force to move in behind them catching them in a pincer. Basic strategy and tactics. Yeah this is an arcade game; however, that does not mean using good tactics and a solid strategy cannot be employed in this game or any other game like it.

rank is a whole other business, with so few ships, every bit of fire power counts, and if you manage to get just one at the start of a match, it can change the whole out come(and vise versa). In random, not such a great idea, not unless you are sure that you can push to their base faster then they can get to yours

The problem with your thinking is that it's an all in one basket type strategy, what happens if the other team has the same idea (they're playing the same game as you their skill level and experiences are going to be similar to yours) they could run into you or they could choose to push the unprotected side of the map. An all in approach has it's merits but there's still a risk you have to account for.
