Hi guys, I'd like to ask if anyone knows what does the new Target Acquisition Mod 1 does? More specificially, what does "Assured Acquisition of enemy ships" mean?

Previously Target Acquisition Mod 1 was borderline useless in most cases, and I'm gonna assume the "Maximum Acquisition" bit is still the same.

The +20% Torp acquisition range is a nice addition in light of the new changes to torps and BBs though.

"Assured Acquisition of enemy ships"

may be this's mean "spotted enemy ships" that you can't see because they are so far. this module help you see them (not relate with hidden enemy )

'Assured acquisition range' is just a fancy way of referring to the the passive auto-spot/proxy spotting range - the range where all ships will be spotted regardless of obstacles (eg. smoke, terrain) between them.

By default this is 2km and is boosted up to 3km with the TAS Mod.1

Wasn't this what it did previously? With the original "+20% Maximum Acquisition Range" bit?

No, previously it only increases the draw distance that can be seen by your ship (that cone on the map that moves when you pan and zoom) so you can see spotted ships further ahead.. Not exactly useful because draw distance on most ship already surpass the gun range itself..
