Hello once again fellow Captains! Thanks for opening this thread...

Still getting used to operating a Cleveland hopefully I'll be settled soon... I've been placed in A LOT of Tier 8 matches and one Tier 9 yesterday in this thing and frankly I find the everyone's behavior to be pretty "weird". Almost everyone even on the enemy is a lot more cautious and prone to retreat which is kind of disconcerting since I usually play as a Support role in these matches... Tier 6 and 7 matches tend to be more fast and lively... Am I missing something here?

Mostly in these high Tier matches I'm applying the Jingles firing doctrine of "Throw-enough-sh**-at-a-wall-and-one-will-definitely-stick" because I simply can't range these guys due to their cautious nature mostly I'm just swatting for AA to help the team... Did I miss the memo on these higher Tier matches or something??

Thanks for the read and Happy Hunting...

You have arrived. Where your progression has taken you is the land of Too Afraid to Engage.

In this mysterious realm, battle is often an afterthought as draws are preferred. The knights here have forgone their war unicorns for steel boats. Most of these knights are in love with their boats and will act very un-aggressively to ensure that their "precious" doesn't get a scratch on it.

Playing squire to such knights can be very frustrating as you have already seen. If you like fighting, it is best to avoid this realm. One day, Neptune willing, many more knights, who are worthy fighters will come and populate the land of Too Afraid to Engage. Until then, in order to live happily every after, go back from whence you came young squire!!!!

Simply put, as you go up tiers, the map become bigger and range of guns become longer, "Why should I get closer than I need to be to shoot at X person when I can shoot from here" is what alot of players in high tiers think.

At lower tiers gun range isn't that long and maps are smaller so engagement usually happen at closer ranges which is why it feels more "fast and engaging" than long range engagements of higher tiers.

You know... It's high tiers and people tend to be more cautious. Just imagine a battle, last 5 minutes of the battle and both teams still have 3/4 of their warships floating. High tier battles are certainly not somekind of low tier early game rush.

Oh old and wizened sage... What must this squire do to avoid such a realm? I am but a humble Squire in training I never asked for this... What must I do when fate forces me into such a quagmire of skirmishes??

1G : The Torpedoes are strong in This One

2G : Stop blowing holes in my ship!

That's sound sinister... Are you thinking what I am thinking?

Maybe, just maybe, BB (who supposes to be pushing) fear their action will be point less and if things gone wrong which will tends to be (murphy's law anyone?) escorting CA or the whole front will just retreat and left those who are too slow facing their fates. I've been having this kind of feeling lately, although it's a loss or a draw as long as your ship survived there's a potential damage to be done to the last seconds of the match and repair bill to be reduced. My couple of first high tier BB matches in my Amagi I tends to push aggressively but noone came with me or support the push, so after sometime I see it's better to wait and see who gonna start the push then move with them rather than just try it, lost HP or sink, pays for full repair without enough damage done to cover it.

I must not let teh aggressive sprits dies out! Vorwärts, Männer!

It seems that everybody is scared of getting sunk.  I got a Tirpitz which i have used very successfully in the US server but is an absolute fail here.  I have yet to win a battle in it.  Infact my WR has dropped a full percentage point so far from trying.  I figured it out why my WR in US is better then SEA.  In US player get behind a good push even at high tiers, this rewards players and teams that have the courage to support a BB group who attempts to cross the T at close range or who exploit a gap.  My WR on US is at current 52% and on the way up.

On SEA i find that i join with a group of BBs and we gain a favourable position, being an aggressive player i push expecting support.  I have this support till we start getting shot at and my team turns away leaving me exposed and dead.  Players on SEA server seem alot more timid and less committed to risking thier ship for the win.  My WR on SEA server is at current 45% and on its way down.

I find the gameplay on US server much more exciting and dynamic.  Players on SEA seem sterile and in fear of getting thier paint scatched.

AS I've said before, SEA players put their own survival above everything else in this game, even above winning the game itself and that made majority of players here defensively superior to players in NA (I've watched countless of NA replays and got confirmation from my cousin herself).

If you want rodeo, free-hits killing where your enemy barely maneuvers and padding up your damage stats, go back to NA. If you want harder to kill targets that doesn't care about playing as a team and doesn't give a crap about the game objective(individualistic), stay here.

Well, not all SEA players are overly defensive. Of course can't deny the fact that i myself got into a team that dumped a Tirpitz (that's me) alone to fend off 1 yamato, 1 amagi, 2 CA, and 1 DD on the west route of two brothers map. But on the other hand, i had games which players communicate with each others and try to achieve the battle objectives, unfortunately usually the names in game is a bit difficult to remember, or else I would have add them into my friends list (why didn't I think of taking a screenshot?!)

Speaking of friend list, I think i forgot to add some people.. will do it later :P

Tier 8 is where the fun should be at. Players that long range snipe as a BB/CA, deny their team points or high damage output.

I find personally that getting to mid range or closer you tend to do more for your team and if you can get a few going with you, its a force to be reckoned with.

Worse is when you are the first ship down on your side but still top score (win or lose) from the dmg you inflicted to the enemy.

I wont change my style and i will continue to flank and be aggressive as a BB player
