How to nerf Arkansas (And maybe Stock Wyoming)with a Freaking lifeboat

If you are driving Arkansas Beta(and maybe Stock Wyoming) recently(After patch 5.0.1) you may found that it have been nerfed (again).

You will found the firing arc of the 4th turret have been reduced quite a lot; basically, you now unable to fire your 4th turret  to ant thing that is around the rear(port and starboard, not directly rear) of the ship.

And it's possibly because of this change in Patch 5.0.1: "Redesigned the system of turrets turning on all ships. Now Main Caliber guns that meet an obstacle while turning, automatically raise (if technically possible)." And there's a lifeboat on both port and starboard between 4th and 5th turret.

While dev team knew this may create a 7km blind spot on the second turret of Negato, they forgot to notice  that this will nerf near half of the firing arc of the 4th turret of Arkansas BECAUSE OF THAT FREAKING LIFEBOAT

I don't know it is intentional or bug. If it is a bug, please fix it. If this is intentional, I DEMAND A REASON!!!!

Uhhh that boat and the restriction on its arc has always been there... Its not a recent thing.

In fact this patch buffed the Arkansas turret rotation by 33%.

I am meaning the area around the lifeboat(Before 5.0.1 the 4th turret can shoot through there, but now since there that no shooting through stuff rule, it essentially become a blindspot for the 4th turret, which for me is a big hidden nerf.

Very few play the Ark Beta in anything other than co-op from what I've seen, and I for one wouldn't keep a tier 4 BB as I think both of them are generally rubbish. Low tier BBs balance is generally pants (vulnerable), because so is high tier (powerful).

They're far more vulnerable compared with everything they face at lower tiers than they are at higher.

Yeap.  The Arkansas is purely a co-op ship.  I wouldn't really be seen in public in it...............................

I've played mine in PvP when retraining crew as it is the only premium USN I have other than the Albany. I don't really care too much how well I play in it, just lumber forwards to get some shots off before being killed by planes (no AA FTW!) or burn to death (because BBs totally die to 5-6" guns, that's why navies stopped building them.../sarcasm).

Remember how I said this ship will nearly be unplayable in PvP back when this ship is first announced?

And I was responded by a swarm of "LTP", "It can mount all the extra equipments" and "It will be the new Minekaze" or something like "It will be just as awesome as the Iwaki Alpha".

Oh and of course the "Learn to appreciate free stuff".

I can't see the future, just that I am also a human that will prioritize something that is defenseless against you.

You weren't the only one making that observation, lol.

I got all sorts of things said about me because I had the gall to suggest a game design choice that put people against opponents against which they had NO effective reply (i.e. planes at low tiers where you have NO/little AA) was really stupid and it should surprise nobody that a whole lot of "CVs ARE BS OP!!!!1111!" thread would appear.

Arkassas Beta would be so much more playable if it had just a few 12.5mm Brownings and 3" AA guns, anything to get rid of its reputation as the "Dodo" of tier 4 with no AA, easy CV prey

Imagine if they gave us the modernised hull near the end of the war with aa etc and not the crummy one.

Aircraft carried: 3 × floatplanes
Aviation facilities: 1 × catapult

I'm interested in knowing the appeal of a ship that cannot fire back at enemy ships but instead is bristling with AA...but doesn't have the speed to really do anything but act as close escort for the carriers.

Isn't that downgrading it to a "Heavy Armor" Atlanta?

And thats why it qualifies.

Gun's weaker than Tier 4, but retains that armor but a powerhouse that Any CV to be feared with.

You mean, make it an even exp pinata than it already is? At least that 6-turret capital broadside is still pretty deadly in the right hands. Replace it with AA guns, and you've got a worse version of the Atlanta.

They're 5 inch gun - and you know it don't do a whole lot of damage to Battleship unless you're like Atlanta-like quantity.

Then again, You can "Rebalance" it by reducing the amount of small-caliber AA gun and the turret turn time. Or even the ROF.

I believe they are not spread out evenly too:

- 2 twin turret in front and 1 at the back

- 2 single barreled 5 inch gun on the right side

- 1 Twin mount on the right side just behind the two single 5 inch gun

In total 10 of them. Doesn't sound all that OP to me.

If WG want some $$$ out of this, put it a Tier 5 Prem and it would probably work as well. I'd be buying it. Just maybe.

Silly plan. Dismiss. Move on.

So now you want to make a historical ship ahistorical?

Duh, how is this game historical in the first place.

If we want to talk about ahistorical, simple - give Iowa back her 33 knots first. :D

Also, it doesn't necessary to be a "Reward" ship.

I will take the Arkansas (Although it is pretty bad), just that it would be a really interesting ship to see in the game as well.
