I'm aware none of the Dockyard event's warship have been made available again; but what are everyone's thought on Odin? How long do you guys think WarGaming would take to get her back in the Armoury/Premium shop? For Odin's user out there, how does Odin perform after the commander rework, and what differentiate her from Scharnhorst and Pommern? (ignoring disparity caused by Tiers)

Operation~Cherry Blossom~ As a part of the American update cycle a new scenario is added. It is inspired by the historic Battle of the Empress Augusta Bay, which took place on November 1st and 2nd 1943. In the dead of the night Japanese forces try to counterattack the troops that have recently landed. Main objective is to defend the troops and further capitalize on the situation by attacking the enemy base. The operation begins at night time and ends when the sun is out. Players will get to know a new mechanic - night battles with star shells as a means to light up the combat area. Participation in this scenario will be limited to tier VIII cruisers of the American, French and British nations. Operation~Cherry Blossom The operation begins in the night, so visibility and detection parameters are changed accordingly: Max. detection radius of allied and enemy ships is limited to 17.6 km Ships' detectability in combat is reduced by 40% Dispersion is increased by 20% Guaranteed detectability after firing from main batteries is decreased from 20 to 8 seconds Star shells and flash bombs create zones of modified visibility parameters as well: Max. detection radius of allied and enemy ships is limited to 17.6 km At the same time minimum detection radius of ships is increased and limited to 17.6 km Closer to the end of scenario night turns into day and all of the visibility parameters go back to normal. Time of day does not affect the effectiveness of consumables in battle.

Since there is an upcoming 30% off for tier 8 ships (https://worldofwarships.asia/en/news/common/mission-september-2017/), I decided to write a long post about it. This is more for those cheapskate people, but you can read it for fun. (scroll till the end for conclusion) Let’s start with table 1 and 2 on how much you can save. Both tables have the same data, just different sorting. Table 1: Discount calculation for USN ships from tier 8-10 sorted by classes Table 2: Discount calculation sorted by tiers I am not posting other nation as it is troublesome to fill in all, and the price different between nations is not that great (I think, I guess, erm go calculate on your own). The 30% discount for tier VIII is definitely worth it, better than the regular 15% discount (table 3). The amount you saved can be used to buy most of your equipment. For tier IX and X, the saving is normal/usual, nothing to talk about it since it happens every now and then. Table 3: 15% discount for USN tier 8 CA On special occasions, there can be 50% off for equipment (https://worldofwarships.asia/en/news/specials-and-events/boost-weekend-20170721/). See table 5 for calculations. You can buy your ship and wait for the discount on the equipment later. However, I doubt most of you can wait so long for the special module discount, and ended up buying the ship now with all/most equipment so you won’t be disadvantageous during battle. Play a few (or a lot more) more battles, and you will earn back the credits. If only WoWS has the similar inventory like WoT, where you can purchase equipment without ships (correct me if I am wrong), then this will not be a problem when I bought my Des Moines (spoiler). Side story: Table 4: Price of equipment in different slots Table 5: 50% discount calculation for all equipment for tier 8 to 10 Extra content: To sum thing up: 1. BUY the tier 8 now if you can. 2. This 15% discount for tier 9 and 10 is usual, you can skip if you want more time to consider (or no credits yet). Next 15% discount will most likely happen in 3 months’ time during Christmas or New Year. 15% saving is still good. 3. For maximum benefit, you can buy the ship first, then fill in those expensive equipment during module discount (if there is one).

OK, so I just want to say something up front, I effing love the Atago... Best premium anything I ever bought in WoT/WoWS... It isn't cause she does well with the credits... It's because I never feel like vsing one or playing one is 'OP' or a waste. She is simply bang for buck and fun to play. So just wanted to say to WG - thankyou for the Atago, she has been a close friend since I picked her up just after release. In other news, I had taken a 6-ish month hiatus due to work and Overwatch, yes I'm back for at least a bit. WTF has happened to pen/armour... Basically you can get cita'd etc from really silly angles now. Not to mention the HE pens, my gawd... Previous system wasn't really broken, it felt like there was a few silly pens and some that should but didn't work but IMO it was 150% better than the way things are now. My guess is there was some sort of patch to do with armour/round mechanics and they've overdone it a fair bit. Hopefully the current state of play isn't what they intended with whatever changes happened...

I heard they are nerfing bismarck's hydro to the normal one. Why would they do that? That was what made Bismarck safe to charge and lead the team with the secondaries but now it will be harder....... WHY WHY WHY

Ive only gotten as far as Tier 8 New Orleans. I manage to get by a game with say 10% damage. What gets me is the after game ship maintenance costing me over 60k credits. Im going poor playing this ship. Is there something wrong with the formula that the developers haven't noticed? Why cant they do something about it? Anybody else notice this?

Hey there fellas! I was wondering which of the 3 skills would be most useful for my Bimarck which would be a secondary build. Right now im training my captain on Bayern and i do like brawling quite a lot. I have personally done some research and high alert seems quite right but than again vigilance is also quite tempting.. Opinions and suggestion? Thanks!

The Admiral Hipper is undoubtedly among the best Tier VIII cruisers out there. Historically its the most advanced cruiser built by the Kriegsmarine. Yet the in-game variant falls short in two important areas - 1) Deck armor 2) Firing range Deck armor: Historically the deck armor of the actual ship was supposed to vary from 20-50mm. In game, the value is 25-30mm, one reason it gets easily penned from long range salvos and hard to pen up close. Now although designated as a heavy cruiser, even with its historic armor figures it falls short to that of light cruisers Chapayev and Kutuzov(same class). So what kind of balancing logic made the Hipper come with a weaker deck ? Firing range: The Admiral Hipper's main battery firing range was only 3km short(33.5km) to that of the Bismarck(36.5km). Now owing to the size of the maps and game mechanics these figures have been shrunk considerably. By the ratio most ship's range has been shrunk(Bismarck/Tirpitz to 21.4km, New Orleans to 16.2km from 27.4km), Hipper's range would round up to 19.5km which would be insanely OP for any tier 8 or even tier 9 cruiser but then again you find the Kutuzov with 19.1km firing range which suggests the 17.7km range on the Hipper as another considerable set back. Honestly I don't think 5% buff to its firing range(makes it 18.5) can hurt much considering you already get a Kongo with over 21km range and that too in tier 5.

Apparently I do kind of OK on T5-T7 ships. But for some reasons, I don't seem to get the hang of T8 ships at all. What is so different for T8? What is the suggested time so that I do not get dragged into boring T10 matches? Gimme some pro-tips.
