It Have Been A Long Journey

Disclaimer: This is not a rant thread. Good day to all captain. Thanks for reading this thread first of all. Now I will proceed to the point. Just few days ago I finally got my trophy ship the CA Myoukou. Coincidentally, I got Myoukou the day she scuttled on June 8th. I guess her spirit wants to get revenge, its also the day I accidentally rammed an allied DD. I guess she is still angry for being scuttled. Which another coincident I also got hit by torpedoes at the starboard at that day at around of end of the battle which coincidentally matched with her IRL service timeline . Also another coincident that ship currently resting with I-501 AND I-502 at my country. That is way too much coincident-ception... Anyway, that ship is a beast compared to Furutaka/Aoba-class CA. "Damn those treaty limits!" can be heard in the meeting room. It have been a long journey which both fun and painful depends on the sortie day. During those journey I have seen so many skilled and derp players during the battles. I have seen some forum members doing so well. How can I achieve those levels, what do I need to sacrifice to get those awesome play? I seriously want it too. Me? I am just a smol skrubs. I failed way too much, but at least I not a total noobs, right? Maybe. But seriously tho, I am sorry if I have div-up and failed your expectation. I just want to pad my stats. HeroOfWind teach me that. lulz. I guess I will be no longer able to div-up with anyone now, whew... Anyway, I also once failed div with my mates in my 15 points captain Umikaze to T6/10 MM. Umikaze is OP no matter what MM crap give you. I dont think I have ever lose in failed div Umikaze, job well done I guess? Even a Gearing scared of Umikaze(I even almost send him to the davy jones locker), Emperor power is blessed you with OP concealment. Now I will get lots of hates from salty people. Time to hide in my cave. UMIKAZE IS LOVE, UMIKAZE IS LYFE! Okay-okay enough with that. I really like cruiser because how fast they can fire and the amount of the shells you can throw at enemy and those fire which will make everyone panicked. As for destroyer, they are the scariest thing in the game, hide yourself and then dishing massive damage is seriously makes everyone worried. Thankfully I can punish them too. As for battleship and carrier... I got nothing because I dont have the skills needed. What I hate the most is that I cant turn away from BB without getting citadel or wipeout completely, I have use QWES hax but its still not enough. I even count the reload time, but they seems able to read my movement and I hate myself for not being able to outplay them. But as for outplay DD, I think I did an okay job, maybe? As for chat, at low tier its so quiet. You can even hear a cricket singing man. At mid and high tier, there are some helpful chatty and not so helpful chatty players. I am in between because I cant type fast, I just replied what I can to help and focus on the battle more. But if you say "poi!" and you get replied I will bet it will be gud. xD And lastly, I want to say THANK YOU to you guys who helped to improve my gameplay. When the first time I joined this forums my WR is 45%, now its 52% I hope it stays that way. Before I forgot, dont tunnel vision because you might rammed your allied 16HP DD to death and get penalized 20K credits. We still wins anyway or maybe he deliberately cut my way and makes me rammed him to cover the repair cost. I even almost get Kraken on my maiden voyage on the stock Myoukou. You sir geez. 3. UPD: 0.3.1 BGM has been added. Captains, With the blessing from IronGuard, I repost here my submission to /r/WorldOfWarships/. BGM for everybody \o/ I extracted the client sound files and got the background music in .ogg format. It includes plenty of seagull sounds and all them cool music tracks. Download: 0.3.0: 461 MB .zip, mega. 0.3.1: 508 MB .zip, mega. No dings, explosions, or gun sounds. Those I did not upload, who would need them anyway? Although if you're one of those weirdos, do ask and I'll post 'em. I also found some peculiar radio transmissions, sounds like a singleplayer mission of some sort. Ideas? Download: 973KB .zip, mega. It was also pointed out to me that there exists an (incomplete) of the OST.
  4. Since I have been bugged about this more times than I care to remember about this very topic, I’m going to now reveal what it is that sets the ones who win more often than they lose apart from the ones who do not: influence; how, when and where to wield it to give you the victory in a game. What is this influence that I am talking about? It is, basically, the ability to control a game, dictating the tempo and thus giving your team (and you) the victory. The strategy of such a philosophy is to get the match to a stage that favours your team and keep it there until a decisive advantage can be exploited, giving you the victory. This means getting your team to timings where they can win, and keeping your enemy away from timings where they can win. Examples include getting your opponents to fight when they don't want to, slowing down their advance by forcing them to take the long way around, applying your firepower at a vulnerable position in the enemy’s line, and so on. People have heard this term being used many times in different games, across different genres: Magic: The Gathering, Defence of the Ancients, League of Legends, football. The list goes on. World of Warships and World of Tanks, perhaps due to their core nature of being team games, is to a surprising degree a game about timings. Every ship has an ability to shape the tempo of the match, although not every ship can affect every part of the game equally. It is convenient, even simplistic, to think of just damage being what this influence is. This is understandable; after all, if your team can destroy the enemy team faster than they can, you curtail the enemy’s ability to influence the game and win, thus increasing your own chances to win. However, such slogging matches rarely end up being decisive victories. Set-piece battles require tactics to succeed, something that is generally up to the individual player instead of the team as a whole, and perhaps is not necessarily the best and most efficient way to win a game. What most people do not realise, however, is that damage is not the be-all-and-end-all. Just because you did 100,000 points in damage to the enemy does not mean that you will win. What matters more, in my opinion, is movement and decisiveness. The ability to identify and strike at the critical point in the battlefield is indispensable. Sometimes, this requires you to not do damage and instead requires you to move, stealthily, to a flanking position for you to pump shells into the sides of the enemy. This means, perhaps, stealth-capturing the enemy’s base. The list goes on. Most players do not have this ability, missing their timing and will never have the effect on the game that they could have had. Games where, had the player just done X instead of Y, or if the player had not missed that one shot, the outcome would have been different. Good players making good decisions come out on the right side of those situations more often than bad players making bad ones. The very best players are able to take this and transmute it into an art; players like Trumz on World of Tanks, who are able to read the game effortlessly and know when and where to apply themselves to win them the game to such a high level that it is breathtaking to watch them in action. Players who are able to see the situation, determine where the enemy is weakest, get themselves there and smash the critical point in the enemy's line. As a guideline, battleships and carriers wield the greatest influence early-game with their ability to destroy enemy ships in one fell swoop if used properly. Mid-game, when the sides have committed and are busily slugging it out, cruisers, with their balanced package of firepower, speed and manoeuvrability, wield the greatest influence. Destroyers are late-game specialists with their concealment abilities if they last long enough to get to that stage. Note, though, that this is not a rule: there are players out there who are equally adept at reading the game and applying themselves in stage in the game, and as such transcend such guidelines, be it defensive or offensive, regardless of the ship class that they are playing, just as there are players who do not have the insight to see this. I would like to end the article with this: dictating the tempo is something that is open to manipulation. The various timings at play in a particular game is an extremely rich framework with which to understand what is going on and why one team is winning and the other losing and how likely (or unlikely) this is going to change. Keen players will probably have the easiest time of understanding what to do, although I use the term "easiest" very sparingly. Not every player has the mentality to do it, but it can at least be taught so that it can be manipulated and wielded to a competent degree. What is for certain, though, is that the player who unloaded the most, who dealt damage, who got the most kills is not necessarily going to emerge victorious.

  6. o7 It's me again. Sorry to create multiple threads in such a short time period, but I think I found something important: Rising Sun flag textures have actually been added to the game. Just updated, no mods. What could it possibly mean? *suspicious* P.S. Please keep the replies civil, I don't want this thread locked. thread locked at op request ~dead_man_walking

    Poi! Nanodesu! Siemka! 555!

Logged in to FB and saw this image from JList *pic removed* Felt like it fits WoWS right now with all the "poi" and "nanodesu" going around. I watch KC too, and I especially love Musashi's oh-pies and tan-ness, but all this poi is somewhat a bit irritating similar to WoT's "siemka" and "555". But I guess "poi poi" is understandable since I'm betting a huge percentage of players right now on WoWS are KC fanatics. Note: Just had to edit the explicit words.
