  1. WG Dev Team, You need to do something about your new CV meta. It needs a serious balance adjustment. Problem 1: The new CVs at higher tiers are like a premeditated murderer at a birthday party. At the start of the match they just look at the crowd and pick a target to focus all their air power onto: the hapless victim is completely powerless to defend themselves and dies. And this all goes down in the first five minutes of that match when people have barely moved from their starting positions and are surrounded by teammates. I've had it happen to me at the START of matches where my battleship was surrounded by my team and very near to our starting position on the map: for whatever reason, the enemy CV decided my ship was "The One" and proceeded to send onslaught of plane after plane against my vessel until I sank. My team mates couldn't help despite being next to me. My own AA was useless, even when supposedly "reinforced". This has happened too many times now. Problem 2: The recall feature of CVs is too open to abuse. Surface ships are too afraid to pop a DFAA or Fighter consumable because you're not sure if the enemy CV is going to do a recall and force you to waste your consumable so that they can pummel you later when the consumable wears off and is on cooldown. This is not effective gameplay. The price aircraft should pay for attacking surface ships is taking AA damage during the attack and taking AA damage whilst they escape.... not simply pressing the F key and warp jumping to safety. Problem 3: The spotting mechanics of aircraft needs to be revised. Surface vessels can only see the planes when they are literally on top of you. Also the enemy CV players are able to disguise the true strength of their squadron.... that single squadron of torpedo bombers suddenly morphs into 2 - 3 squadrons at a range of 5km. Basically surface ships never see enemy aircraft coming until they attack, they never see the true strength of the enemy aircraft, and the enemy aircraft use the recall feature to then disappear in a puff of smoke. CV aircraft have basically become invisible ninjas and there is almost no defence for the surface ships. Problem 4: CVs have utterly ruined destroyer play. What's the point of destroyers if CV aircraft can ninja in and out of an area and spot the enemy absent of any kind of risk? Flanking cruisers face similar problems to destroyers, as they're not intended for front line combat but for hiding and shooting as the opportunity presents itself... except they can't hide now thanks to CV enabled perma-spotting Problem 5: The new Manual Fire AA Control commander skill is useless. All you get is a 20% reinforcement bonus and a measly 2 second time saving when reinforcing sectors? Are you guys serious? This is a 4 point skill which is often used by players who've taken the time to invest in a 14 point commander. It's now pointless for surface ships to be a pure AA build because the crowning achievement of the AA build, the MFAAC commander skill, is now a pointless waste of time. Problem 6: (UPDATED!) Surface ship AA is a waste of time and useless. It creates pretty fireworks but not much else. If you're in a dedicated AA vessel you may actually shoot down a few enemy planes but you're still totally powerless to stop the enemy CV from hitting you or swarming you. Reinforcing your AA is also a waste of time and pointless: minimal effect upon enemy CV planes as the enemy CV normally tries to cross the axis of your ship anyway. Problem 7: (UPDATED!) The Fighter Consumable is a waste of time. It's too easy for enemy CVs to bait you into blowing your Fighter Consumable via use of the recall function. And why do the Fighter Consumable fighters return back to your ship as soon as they land three kills? I've been in situations where I'm being swarmed by enemy fighters in a supposedly decent AA surface vessel, I pop my Fighter Consumable and they return to base after downing three enemy planes even though there is time left for the Fighter Consumable planes to continue patrolling? Makes utterly no sense. The Fighter Consumable planes should patrol for the full duration of their consumable, no matter how many planes they shoot down. The action time for the consumable is pitiful anyway, so the 3-kill limit you've imposed makes absolutely no sense. Most of the time the Fighter Consumable shoots down ZERO enemy planes but if I'm lucky maybe ONE. Problem 8: (UPDATED!) CVs can only deal damage, they cannot provide air cover. CVs have absolutely no interest in team work now as their sole purpose is to deal damage faster than the enemy CV and cannot assist team mates with air cover. This means you can never take advantage of strategic positioning errors by the enemy team. See a gap in the enemy lines and want to cut off their escape? No can do because as soon you get into an advantageous position and cause the enemy ships to crap themselves, the enemy CVs see what you're doing, break off all other engagements and swarm you. Previously friendly CVs could provide you with air cover. Now you are encouraged to always play defensively whenever an enemy CV is in play because you have absolutely no defense against air attack... even if the enemy surface ships are wide open and begging to be pummeled from the opposite direction because they left a gap in their lines. Forget about intelligent map positioning and exploiting weaknesses in the enemy formation, as now you are forced to clump up together to survive like you're a character in a zombie movie. The Fighter consumable is a joke as is the reinforced AA and the MFAAC commander skill, so your ship is utterly defenseless against CV attack. This new CV meta has been out for many months ago. It's utterly unacceptable that the major flaws in this meta still remain unresolved 4 months later. Meanwhile you're churning out updates for new Soviet battleships. Who wants to play a Soviet battleship when the new CVs are ready to eat your shiny new Soviet battleship for lunch and your sole means of survival is praying to whatever God you believe in that the CVs attack someone other than you? I've read responses where you've said you're "listening to all the voices out there" and "if you feel like it" and the "data supports it", you might change something. Stop stalling and fix the issues now. They're not that hard for you to address. You've had long enough. (And we're all still waiting WG.... and waiting... and waiting... I want to say it's nothing short of disgraceful)

    Guineas

Okay, So I am looking at the store, and I am little confused here, as I often am by Wargaming and the prices they choose for stuff, bunch of odd fellas :) Option 1: Buy 40 Guineas for $54.39NZD and still need to grind 10 Guineas to buy the Coassak Option 2: Buy Cossack, just the ship none of the extras for $55.80 I am just wondering what the thought process is behind this, as for a little more than one dollar more I could save myself a huge grind, and you can't do anything else with Guineas except use them on that one ship? Not that I would ever spend $55 on a destroyer anyway, but the prices just boggle my mind who comes up with this stuff? EDIT: Just to add, if I had set this up, I would have made it $1 per Guineas in every currency for each region, then as you earn Guineas you could be effectively saving yourself a dollar for your hard work, and then if you got it to a point you were happy with you could pay the rest, for example I might have tried to grind say 20 Guineas and then bought 30 for $30
  3. [Really salty rant incoming] Saipan is seriously ruining CV gameplay at tier7, just about every match I get in my Ranger, it's a 90% chance that I'll be against a Saipan. It's a miracle if I even get pitted against Hiryu or another Ranger. With the CV playerbase already so small, Saipan pretty much dominated the tier7 CV spot, and with it's broken OP planes, it's practically impossible for Non-premium CVs to even have fun. First of all, it's those darn tier9 planes that somehow has no downsides aside from it's small squadron size. It's fast, and hard to kill, and can get out of a fighter lock without losing a plane. Ranger players are the ones that are getting kicked around most of the time since they're stuck with 1 squadron and even though it has superior numbers, it's pointless as Saipan has 2 squadrons of fighter which when combined, makes it basically Ranger's 1 fighter squadron made even more powerful by being split into 2 and being 2 tiers higher than normal Ranger. Second of all, Non-premium CVs are forced to play a defensive role when Saipan is on the other team. Whenever you even take your fighter squadron to escort your bombers, Saipan will just send his TBs to strike your open flank, and you can't even send your own bombers to an attack escorted without having to lose 1-2 squadrons because your own fighters are busy fighting 1 Fighter squadron while the other enemy squadron is gunning down your bombers returning to your ship. I really have to say that playing tier7 CVs against Saipan is no fun at all. At least when you're against Kaga, you actually have a fighting chance since it has a reasonable weakness, being that it has more fragile planes compared to it's non-premium counterparts. Against Saipan, it's practically going to be 20mins of hell for the CV player on the receiving end. Why can't WG just nerf the fighter squadrons. At least give my bombers a chance to escape by having the Saipan's fighter speed reduced.
  4. Recently, there are alot more radar ships around, too many of them in fact. Forget about the T8 mm, it's still broken but I know you guys will never fix it. Look at the screenshot, the enemy has 6 radar ships! Yes the minotaur is also running radar. I always see THREE Missouri in a team. This did not just happen in one game, pretty much these few days this has been a real problem. We don't mind having to wait a little longer for the mm to balance the shit out. Please address this issue ASAP, especially since you want to remove the Missouri, lots of players are rushing to get that [content removed]. Inappropriate/derogatory. 5. This week is a great week, because alas, AEGIS is here!!! If some of you haven't realised, AEGIS is dank. But some ships are more dank than others.. What you need: -Premium account (just a week will do, cos scenarios change weekly) -A dank light cruiser, with the preferred ships (in decreasing order) as below: >De Grasse (Citadel Kuma at about 14km, Furutaka/Aoba at about 12km, Myoko at about 10km) >Nurnberg (Citadel Kuma at about 12km, Furutaka/Aoba at about 8.7km, Myoko at just under 7km) >Cleveland (Citadel Kuma at about 13km, Furutaka at about 11km, Myoko at 9km) >Budyonny (similar shells as de Grasse in terms of penetration) >La Galissonaire (same shells as De Grasse) Note that Kuma can be overmatched by 152mm AP through its bow Instruction: 0. Mount all the xp multiplier flags and xp camo, solo queue AEGIS. 1. Rush the smoke laid by the mahan, farm broadsides (try to get about 40k damage for the first wave. Shooting at CA broadsides instead of DDs actually give more xp and credits since a volley of 3 citadels is like half a cruiser's HP. Stay behind the DD so as to dodge potential torps from the Poi spam. 2. When ships in the north appear, turn to the west, and let the ships fire at the ships left in the smoke (when it disappears), or any ship north of the smoke. Remember to head west first, as bots will sail in straight lines along set path, and will fire at the closest target it can shoot. While moving, keep spamming HE at the Cruisers. Remember that higher tier Cruisers give more XP. 3. While the BB/CA/DD is being fired upon, turn towards the north, and farm citadels from the broadside cruisers. This should not take more than 15 salvoes. Once you are done with the CL/CAs, deal with the Ishizuchi with torps (if you have them), or else just try to angle and avoid torps, then sail away to the north. 4. Proceed north and farm the 2 Cruiser broadsides. These ships will be close and will fire at you, but just use WASD while you slam citadels into their broadsides. 5. Once you clear closest cruisers, shoot the further cruisers at the other side of the convoy. 6. When the cruisers die, two CVs will spawn (or possibly BBs too). In the latter case, just YOLO and try to do as much damage as possible, since by now you should probably already have over 100k damage. Else just farm the CV and their planes. You might want to use AP for citadels and to keep their deck in commission so as to farm more planes (also, pls take DFAA). Head east as you do this. 7. When you killed the Zuiho and/or the Hosho, try to kill the Ryujo to the east. 8. By this time you probably have almost 200k damage already, and the enemy fleet is rushing your team. So just keep rushing the enemy and farm as much damage as possible since the game is probably ending. Proper selection of ammo type and aim would reward you greatly. Remember how bots operate, don't take unnecessary damage, and farm as many bots as possible. So enjoy, and farm your free xp and credits, without all the salt from randoms! So far my record is only 2501 base xp but I guess it is possible to be higher. pls exploit before WG nerfs this, and take respite from the weekends with this
  6. So I participated in the Wows survey that popped up in my port, one of the things that I wrote was that lag and Desync are still a big problem. The next thing I know, my game is constantly freezing, I am suffering from extreme lag spikes, with my ping hitting 1200ms and I'm constantly being dropped from the match. I understand that WG despises criticism but I think this is a little over the top just because I find their servers to be a bit under powered. So lesson learnt, I'll never participate in any of their surveys ever again, all they did was punish me for it.
  7. This is a good read. I will just leave this here. http://lightquick.co.uk/world-of-tanks-is-the-matchmaker-rigged.html?Itemid=252
  8. I'm on the asia server, and HE and AP is bouncing EVERYWHERE. Full fuso broadside on cruisers and all bounced, dealing ZERO damage. Full HE salvo using Fubuki on a Mogami's superstructure....6 hits, ZERO damage. This doesn't happen once or twice a match, it happens to about 1/3 of my salvos. Perfect shots at perfect angles, and all bounced. The last time I checked, my HE shells only "bounced" when you strike the bottom part of the hull where minimal damage is dealt to a battleship This has been going on for me ever since the new patch came out. Anyone else experiencing this too?

    World of Lagships

Are Wargaming ever going to fix their servers? I am sick of massive lag spikes, freezing and getting dropped from games at random. I never get such poor performance in any other online game that I play, so why is this one so frustrating that I often end up throwing my wireless mouse across the room? Get your shit together Wargaming, or people will get sick of this game very rapidly.
  10. Valhalla_Shank

    Simply stupid and criminal.

Dear WG and readers, After being involved with WoT for many years and finding myself and becoming very excited to hear about the coming release of WoW I decided to buy a closed beta premium pack. During the test phase I truly believed WG may get it right with ships, it was what I had always wanted from a game, UNTIL the so called open Beta that is really just a soft release of the game. So here we are, a soft release far from test finished or even close to being ready for the public and masses to play. Current and completely broken mechanics of the game include the match making system (being worked in next patch, ill believe this when my [Redacted] turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbert) next we have the blue line mechanic, the edge of the map that is semi transparent that allows ships to manoeuvre even skid sideways, What the actual [Redacted] was anyone in even a half cut [Redacted] mind thinking when this seemed like a good idea for a map boarder. (WG's fix, we will still allow game breaking issues with blue line to continue but will change the aim mechanic to adjust for said broken [Redacted]) so change something that isn't broken to adjust for something that is being broken, sounds like a sound game plan, if you where taking a dump. Second wall of text in this rather therapeutic rant is what the actual [Redacted] is going on with CV's, yes all you fanbois can cry about how historically they were powerful blah blah [Redacted] blah. THIS IS NOT BY ANYONE STRETCH OF EVEN OF ANYONE'S IMAGINATION EVEN CLOSE TO A SIMULATOR OR HISTORICAL. This is a a death match arena style arcade warships game, so please, if anyone from WG even has any part of a soul left and reads this, balance the god-dam carriers, its beyond a joke. To go with the just completely stupid and mind numbing bad balance/mechanics CV's currently in game, what the actual [Redacted] is up the mid to high-mid tier American DD's. A ships that focuses on stealth and manoeuvrability and the ability have a decent fire fight with other DD's, that's about it, you get spotted before IJN DD,s out torpedoed, out manoeuvred out smoked etc. etc. etc. they are completely and utterly useless 99% of the time, WG fix now i love this one [Redacted] its gold, WG fix, lets give then better AA, for real. So to finish this rant off I would like to say, no, I am done, as are many many people with this title and the Wot title, to long has this company just stuck their heads in the sand when it came to massive game changing issues, to long have they turned a blind eye while the money has rolled in. There is not enough soap on this earth to scrub my body with, to cleanse me of the filth that is what this company has done its customers, supports and loyal fan base. P.s. learn what a hot fix [Redacted] is, Profanity. Post edited, user warned. ~Syanda
