  1. Preface: I believe in NOT being prejudiced against certain groups when it comes to rule enforcement. To me, justice should be served solely based on the circumstances and be blind to everything else. Just in case people want to accuse me of being “racist”. You know who you are. I’ll say it right here: I don’t think WG is taking clan battles violations seriously enough. Why? Read below. Recently, WG have posted threads detailing actions they took against clans that violated EULA in clan battles, like on ASIA, EU, and NA. Now, obviously, I am happy that they’re actually doing something considering the under-the-table manner of these dealings, but at the same time, I am also unhappy that they weren’t hit harder considering they were basically RMTing (these kinds of services are NOT free). These people just moved on to their subclans or made new clans, and kept playing as usual. Nothing changed. Now, to be absolutely fair, this is not the first time WG have acted on this sort of thing; In seasons 1 and 2, the exact same thing happened on RU as you can see here and here. Heck, UMR-R got the same treatment last season. So, by that logic, you would think that the same violations have been dealt with the same punishments. Indeed, they have. At least they are consistent, but too lenient in my opinion. However, 2 of the clans in question (PWP on NA and VOR on EU) decided to take it 1 step further; VOR EU changed their clantag to [_TWA_] ([TWA] is a top EU clan) before it got disbanded, and PWP made an entirely new clan after disbandment… with the tag [WGCNM] and the name "WG Never Mind the Slander and Liber" . Before anyone asks, its to do with intimate relations with one’s mother…. and her death. Clearly, both of these clans are upset that they got caught breaking EULA… While the _TWA_ rename was in bad taste, they didn’t break any rules (that I am aware of), so of course nothing else happened to them. However, the PWP members that founded the [WGCNM] clan only had to contend with the clan being disbanded, with no further sanctions on their accounts. Again, consistent with previous clan names that violated rules, but too lenient in this circumstance since they expressed discontent at being caught breaking EULA… *by breaking EULA*. Imagine if you trashtalked a mod that just issued you a gameban. That’s what they have done…. And by the looks of it, they have gotten away with it without any significant consequences (2500 doubloons is nothing to these people) So, we now have a situation where repeated, large scale clan battles violations have occurred, and with no apparent escalation in enforcement. Even worse, some who were caught decided to violate EULA by trashtaking WG using their new clantag/name and they also didn’t get any escalated account sanctions. This, to me, is inconsistent with literally every other rule violation in this game. Let me give some examples: You trashtalk in chat, you get chatbanned (restricted from chat) You rig/grief others mechanically, you get gamebanned (restricted from games, may apply to entire account or just randoms/ranked if you TK/AFK) You break forum rules, you get forum restrictions. And now, when you break clan battle rules…. You don’t even get banned from clan battles or joining clans. They only got their steel refunded. No account bans, nothing else. And as of a few days ago, WG announced the mercenaries system which allows clanless/different-clanned people to play in clan battles for another clan. This is, from a player perspective, the perfect breeding ground for RMT services and exactly the kinds of violations that these clans were caught for in the past. So, what is WG going to do when this sort of thing happens again? Just disband their clan and take away their steel, letting these kinds of players just play clan battles like nothing happened? I sure hope not and that WG will at least ban them from at least 1 future season of clan battles if they're caught doing this sort of shenanigans. In closing, I am disappointed with how WG has handled the clan battles violations (especially with the PWP -> WGCNM rename) as it shows that they are unwilling to escalate sanctions related to repeated clan (battle) violations. I know you are capable of doing more WG, you said it yourselves in the very posts! Show us you mean business when it comes to these players. Otherwise, the enforcement doesn’t seem very convincing at all and is merely a slap on the wrist.

    Aussie looking for clan

Hey all! Im looking for an 18+ Aus/NZ based clan to help me develop my bote-ing skills. I normally jam RN BBs and CLs, but Ive got a spattering of canoes that I love to play - especially brawlers! Online most nights. Sydney based. Cheers!
  3. Hey everyone! So recently I've decided I wanted to try and be more social on WoWs and join a clan. The problem was that my clan menu just flat out wasn't working for me and kept saying: "service unavailable". This was understandably frustrating and so, after trying a bunch of things, here are the fixes (in order of ease) that I found: 1. Click the "Verify Files and Repair" function on the launcher. This takes a few minutes, usually, but aside from that its very painless. It didn't do anything to fix MY problem, but it has worked for some and, you know, it's easy. 2. Make sure you are running the game as an administrator This is almost as easy as the first one, really only requiring a few clicks, but might be a bit trickier because if you want to be SURE it is working you should launch the game from the direct launcher (in your C:/Games/WorldofWarships folder, or wherever you put it.) Again: this didn't help me, but it might help some. 3. Ensure your firewall is letting the game through Now this one is a little trickier, and it is going to depend a lot on your firewall settings. The launcher has a feature that can allow the game through with one click, but if you really want to make sure it is working you are going to need to check your individual settings for whatever firewall you might have. 4. [THE ONE THAT WORKED FOR ME] Delete your "Profiles" folder in your World of Warships folder. Now this is the one that actually worked for me. It's a little annoying because you are going to have to do things like set up custom controls and such again, but it actually WORKED and, furthermore, it's what the game's own customer service recommends. What you need to do is go to your World of Warships folder (usually in C:/Games/WorldofWarships) and find the folder marked "profile"...then delete that folder. Simple as that. When you start up the game again (as an administrator, remember,) you might have to put in your password and such again...but it should actually let you access the clans tab, the premium shop, and all that good stuff. And that is pretty much it. I hope you found this little guide helpful, and I sincerely hope that it worked for you. Good luck, and fair seas! -Leerm02
  4. Hi All, I know you will tell me to git gud. But lately it has becoming boring with divisional players with Massive AA and CV builds. Yes this is a rant... it will make players drop off and it is not good for the game. As soon as i see a division with CV's i can see in the MatchMaker that they all have a winrate of over 80% it must get boring for them? And people just won't play. IMHO they should ban CV's with Divisional play, it will make the game better... yes i know they can in theory do a count down, but it does not guarantee they will be on the same side. Being a unicorn with a CV division is not that hard frankly... I welcome your thoughts.

    Clans

Looking at it seems not a bad way to get like-minded players together. 30 players in a clan seems a good size. I would assume that people would get TeamSpeak for comms. What is everyone's thoughts?

Does anyone know if they are going to allow clans anytime soon?

    Clans and Features

I would like to see the feature of clans, like in WoT, and all the features it has, so every feature that comes under clans in WoT, I'd like to see in WoWs. Along with a lot of the features from WoT, to be put into the game of WoWs, not just the design look, but also, when in battle, to have more types of battles, not just between bots or real people. I would like people to use punctuation to make it easier to read what you are trying to say! Hard to Read, Post Fixed, User Warned ~lengxv6

    WG Unified Account

I have some questions about the unified account - what actually carries over into this game? For starters, premium time is shared among the games. That one I can already confirm. But what about gold? Will it remain as piasters/doubloons or will it be unified to include gold as well? This is particularly important as I don't want to end up spending a large one-off sum (since its cheaper per unit of "gold" in the large bundles) for doubloons, only for it to be unified with the remaining mountain of gold in my WoT account (mainly from WG contests/competitions lol). I doubt credits and xp will be shared though, as the model in which it is earned is completely different. And will clans be unified among the different game titles or will each game entitle me to join in different clans (if it were to be implemented in the first place).
