  1. I suspect that the rumour of fewer CVs on the NA server has created a mass exodus of non CV players from the Asian server. It is why I am leaving. Someone told me that "We don't do that over here." and I was like "Dude!" and he was like "Dude." and I was like "Dude!" and he was like.... Anyways, the point is, all known polling of the player base suggests an overwhelming desire to avoid CVs. We now regularly see 2 CVs and no DDs in random matches. So that means CVs have replaced DDs, which fundamentally changes the game. Brawling is dead, because of CV spotting. If you advance, you get focused once you are spotted. Low detection now means nothing at all. We all know how CVs have changed the game. The point here, the commercial point, is that a mass exodus from the Asian server to the NA, by folks seeking to avoid CVs, will totally break the game on the Asian server. We already have literally half the teams at tier IV being CVs, despite the absurdity of there being no AA at that tier. If everyone leaves, it will become CVs vs CVs. The Asian server will be World of CVs. This will confirm the truth we all know, which is that CVs are a very, very clumsy and poorly reasoned game mechanic that is despised by the majority of the customer base. However, for once the commercial reality for WG will be stark, and pressing. They cannot allow the Asian server to become World of CVs. It guts their business model for that server. In my opinion, the only way out for WG is to make CV play optional, or else change the concept entirely. The thing is, CVs are always alive at the end of every battle. They are literally never under pressure. All they do is attack other players. That is, perhaps a realistic representation of the true power of air power in naval warfare, however as a game mechanic, it is downright pathological. CVs never defend, they never have to defend. They attack everyone, and never get attacked. That design, on the face of it, has no legitimate place is a game striving for fairness. It invites strange and ugly human interaction, and this is probably why WG cannot speak openly about the server transfer issue. CVs are so brutally unbalanced, so unfair in the basic meaning of that term, that they can no longer be ignored.
  2. I received two containers as compensation. Very generous of WG, I thought. (Since I didn't mind anyway) Impressive customer management!

    Has the Mogami been nerfed?

    I see. Thanks!

So, how should a team advance? How would you structure an advance into a cap? Should the team concentrate in tight groups, and what kind of spacing would you suggest? Who should advanced first, and who ought do what to support them? These questions are for the benefit of new players, they are not intended to offend the sensibilities of the awesome few who have already mastered the ten thousand things, and who police subordinate thought from great heights.

You guys, if you stray off topic, we all look bad. Let's stay on topic, for the team. Go team.

I don't have a team. I play random battles. It is mostly freaks and hippies, farming stats and being timid. Gracious, to have a real team! What a prospect. I live in hope that the NA server will be the Big Rock Candy Mountains, where there ain't no CVs, and folks like to participate manly displays of heroic fortitude. People forget that Leroy Jenkins did have, in fact, some chicken. Nobody remembers the name of the folk who followed him into battle.

"We"? lol. You may think you have been civil. I find you otherwise. I didn't say CV players were subhuman. I said that some of them were exhibiting subnormal behaviour. Now run along, and be angry if you must. Have you started that thread yet? You could call it "We of WOWS".

So I just played a match in the Kagero. We won, I got 1244 base XP (4620 with flags and skin), I killed a Gearing (tier X dd), captured a cap, got nine ribbons in all. And survived. It was a really good match. Only their CV was alive at the end (lol). Duh. Now, I made bucks. 23k credit bonus. Interestingly, I would still have lost credits without premium. I guess credits just ain't easy, without the premium ships.

    Has the Mogami been nerfed?

Well, I just got 5 fires from 39 hits, so I guess you must be right.

    Has the Mogami been nerfed?

I'm curious to know how folks are getting on with their Mogami fire starting. Yesterday I played a match in it where I hit 139 times, and started 4 fires. Today I just landed 61 hits, and started 1 fire. I am using the 155mm guns with fire flags and a Captain with IFHE and Demo Expert. Apparently I have 9% chance of fires. 5 fires from 200 hits seems a bit less than 9%. (2.5%) Have other folks also notice the lack of fires from this ship?

A typically snarky post from you. You really should begin more of your own threads. It would do you good. Sniping can become a bad habit. Now, I had thought the point of DDs was to try and win the cap, and scout for the team. In my experience, this gets countered by CVs scouting the caps, and revealing DDs for their team. The battle for the caps begins with scouting, and the dds tend to be on the front line. I am noticing more DDs sticking back with the high AA ships now, and indeed that does protect the ship quiet well. But then, if you not scouting and capping, what are you for? I note that credits are fairly easy to get in premium ship. I make bank with my Asashio. So that is interesting. I had not realised, as other posters have noted, that stock ships at high tiers often don't make profit. Anyway, it makes me value premium ships a lot more. I doubt I will bother grinding the Kagero to progress the IJN DD line. The Asashio has smoke and torp reload booster, and decent guns. And it makes a profit. A great little ship. The Kagero.... meh.
