    Performance issue after 0.7.2

Bring on the new enCORE multi core graphics engine as to be used on the upgraded W of T, asap!

Best solution is to increase the minimum range from which planes can launch torpedos to allow alert skilful BBs to avoid at least some torpedos.

Yes indeed, I have no hesitation in reporting AFKs!

    Performance issue after 0.7.2

Been running consistently with a 5 year old i3 era cpu and Nvidia 615 graphics card even after the patch, albeit at very low settings and some entirely switched off. Am to upgrade to 8th generation Intel CPU with 6 cores and Nvidia GTX1070 graphics card soon, so hope to see some amazing improvements to the game even though restricted to this game's antiquated use of a mere single CPU core.

Agree, BristolBrick. I enjoy sailing my Cleveland and Atlanta but find I can have much more fun and more rewards if I am not stuck with a BB and earning little for shooting down planes. best be firing at BBs from behind islands!

Would those with gripes on performance see their problems resolved if this game was able to operate on CPUs with more than one core? I am not a technical person so do not know the answer.

I agree that an experienced carrier captain has too much power to influence the course of a game. To add insult to injury, those who do their duty in remaining close to BBs to defend them with AA fire are not sufficiently rewarded for their efforts.

The new Graphics Engine - enCORE

Well, this makes good sense, I suppose. I am just frustrated that it will take such a long and undefined period for the enCORE upgrade to be extended to World of Warships. We have not even been told that there is a plan to extend. We can only assume it might happen if profits suffice to cover the significant costs of the required R&D.. We must remember that those with the highest aspirations to see the game enhanced to current-day standards include those who have incurred the cost of replacing their obsolete computers and who probably have the resources to provide the developers with most of their in-game doubloon purchases (to the advantage of those who run on a tight budget with antiquated equipment and who are perhaps understandably happier with the status quo). Having said all the above, World of Warships is without a doubt a fantastic game with much latent potential yet to be realised - hopefully sooner rather than later..

You are easily pleased. I would recommend W of W just continue as is and save the developers the time and costs of advancing the graphics engine with any degree of enthusiasm till such time as they see a serious drop in the number of their more demanding customers.

The new Graphics Engine - enCORE

Yes Ordrazz, I too am of advanced age and enjoy playing the World of Warships game as is. I am generally very wary of any change, especially if this might make everything more complicated (as with the last "enhancements" made to the old submarine simulation game, Silent Hunter.). However, I have read the recent posts relative to the enCORE graphics engine on the corresponding European Server Forums. Those who have upgraded their obsolete gaming setups have said that the difference in their enjoyment of play in World of Tanks is unbelievable, like comparing Night and Day. What one has not experienced one will not miss.

The new Graphics Engine - enCORE

_TAMAL_ , are you saying that Wargaming's efforts to upgrade the graphics via enCORE are a waste of time and money? One must move with advances in technology or we'd still all be playing games (seemingly quite happily?) designed for users and computers at the beginning of the decade.
  12. I have just today been made aware of World of Tank's enCORE, being the demo of Core, the new graphics engine developed in-house at Wargaming. See https://wotencore.net/ As I understand the situation, Core will significantly improve the game's visuals by utilising TWO CPU cores, thus overcoming Wargaming bottlenecks imposed through the obsolete use of merely a single core. No timeline for introducing the Core has been given. As you will all be aware, the processing demands of World of Warships are considerably higher than those for World of Tanks. It is therefore World of Warships that would stand to benefit the most from the introduction of the new Core engine. It is indeed frustrating that the introduction of Core has not been prioritised for World of Warships. If the developers read this forum, I feel sure that we can achieve some earlier progress in this modern Age of multi core processors. For too long, we have been reduced into playing at the level of the lowest common denominator of those who (for whatever reason) are unwilling or unable to update their equipment to a level of multi core CPUs of a gaming standard which has long existed.
  13. World of Tanks has recently introduced an improved engine called ENCORE which is still under testing. This uses 2 cores instead of one and should eliminate any current bottlenecks due to reliance on a single processor core. We need to group together to push for the same improvement to be extended to W of Warships which would benefit much more than W of Tanks, the latter being a less demanding game for the CPU.

Full Use of Multi Core Processors

Abject apologies. My laughing face icons came out as question marks!
