  1. Worst Luck

Yes but what if I don't especially care about Solo Warrior and would prefer to grind XP?
  2. Worst Luck

What's the worst luck you ever had in WOWS? I just equipped a bunch of nice fancy flags to grind on my Gneisenau, and did 80-90k damage per game for 5 games in a row. But my team-mates were all potatoes sadly, and I lost every game. And on the sixth, I was annoyed because right off the bat the enemy tier IX carrier hit my tier VII with 20k damage I could not avoid, was even sailing with a couple friendly cruisers. And he kept bombing me the entire game, when I finally caught him I got off one salvo that was well aimed, and it did 2300 damage. Then I just was sniped by bombs from 15k to nothing. Somehow I got 1400 base XP that game, but it still sucked.
  3. New player looking for tips

Never said it was a win when I charged a Nassau, I was saying that Nassau messed up and took a lot of unnessecary damage. The event with the Myogi was a different game, and I did die in that, after torpedoeing a destroyer, a cruiser charging at me, and then a charging Clemson and I rammed, we were both turning away but too late. It was a fun time, since all that happened within 3 minutes.
  4. New player looking for tips

Yes but most destroyers do exactly that. Thanks for the tip, I do change course a bit, but never thought of changing speed. A lot of BB captains I saw don't turn, even when they see a destroyer 5 km away. What do they think destroyers do? Just go around, being miniature cruisers and gun-boating?
  5. New player looking for tips

Not strictly on topic, but as a BB driver, DON'T repair a fire. Your repair should be saved for more serious things. Do it, but only if you are sure you are safe. Two fires? Yeah, do that. Today I was playing a G-101 (Tier III German destroyer) and I shot at a Myogi. (Tier IV Japanese BB) I set him on fire. This Myogi repairs the fire, and sails in a straight line, so I hit him with torpedoes and half his health is gone. While I'm off doing something, he is flooding and losing HP quickly, waiting for his damage repair to become available. I killed him, from full health, and if he had have just changed course after seeing a destroyer, and let that fire burn itself out, he would not have died to me. And I saw a Nassau (German Tier 3 BB) and I launch one torpedo, I am trying to get close to launch the rest. He's on full health, and he kills me. But that stray torpedo hits him, and because he was repairing a fire, guess who took 18,000 flood damage? Seriously, if you see a destroyer or cruiser charge at you, and suddenly turn, 100% he launched torpedoes. Evade them. This stuff is really helpful, just turn a little bit, often. Makes a destroyer's job way harder.
  6. Accidentally Torpedoed Friendly

Was sailing a fancy new G-101, me and another destroyer are close and pushing, I then see an enemy something, and decide why not launch a torpedo from here? Won't do any harm. But immediately I see my mistake, as the other guy is sailing parallel and slightly behind me. Oops. I score 2 hits, he dies, and I go on to get slaughtered on my own. Immediately apologized in chat, because it was entirely my fault and I was being careless. Hopefully I'll learn to be careful with torpedoes. I'm new to this destroyer thing, mainly play battleships, which I learned pretty good trigger discipline on. That would have stopped me torpedoing a friendly, except I forgot torpedoes don't go nearly so fast.
  7. Bayern not what it seems?

Had the exact same problems as you did in my Bayern, learn to play. I did, really very fast, because suddenly all my old tactics that worked at tier 4 don't work anymore. I was a newbie, then I learned to BB. What I did: - Stay near friends. This is important. Sail into 3 enemy ships on your own, you better run. - Angle the front of your ship, enemy shells will only delete you if they can get a shot of your broadside. - Learn when to fire AP and HE. (I am not very good at this yet) Your secondaries are nice, use them if you can, but be careful of destroyers. So also remember to make course adjustments every few seconds. Makes a DD's job much harder. Instantly I did way better, still haven't found a way to deal with carriers though.
  8. CV-get rid of them already.

Attack targets with poor AA then. I don't get to choose if you put your planes near some AA guns, you do.
  9. CV-get rid of them already.

I regularly play T7. I do indeed still think CVs are OP. I do want battleships who ARE SKILLED AND PAY ATTENTION to be invulnerable. If CVs can be detroyed solo, why did you just spend 3 hours arguing people need to team up?
  10. CV-get rid of them already.

    1. Every other class of ship can be destroyed solo. 2. A skill-less CV will just spam torps at the nearest BB, and that BB can't dodge, no matter how skillful.
  11. CV-get rid of them already.

WG designed it wrong then, because it doesn't happen because it doesn't work. Not bad play that I can't dodge any torpedos no matter what I do, if I try to dodge and start turning 4 clicks out, I still get hit. EDIT: And by saying teamplay is needed to defeat one ship, isn't that an admission that lone ship is overpowered?
  12. CV-get rid of them already.

Yeah, and in grade 8 I designed my art project to not look like a retarded chicken, and it looked like a retarded chicken. People fail at things. The people at WG are no different, and if theya re, we should check if they are aliens. As a BB, I can deal with a destroyer. I can keep zig-zagging so he has to get really close to hit mw with a torp, if he shows himself I shoot. As a destroyer, again, things you can do. I don't play destroyers so much, but I'm sure they can do stuff. Stop saying your bad play is somehow makes other classes OP against different classes, and justifies that aircraft carriers can kill my BB no-matter what I do. I'd much rather fight a destroyer in my Konig (or whatever battleship) than get torpedoed unavoidably by CV. And when two CVs are involved, complete slaughter. Those matches are terrible.
  13. CV-get rid of them already.

Not an argument. We aren't talking about what WG claims the game is, they claim it's balanced for goodness sakes, so please address my argument: To people saying that you should sail in groups to counter CVs, do you really expect that kind of team play in random? Even if it does happen, you go, and you kill one ship. And it takes 4 or so people. So who would ever do it? You get more kills by not doing it. And if you do it, the rest of your team is now outnumbered on the rest of the map by normal enemies, and cause of the snowball effect, probably going to lose. If you are saying that it needs a team to counter just one ship though, isn't that an admission it is over-powered?

A bad carrier, unlike any other class, means your whole team is vulnerable to the enemy carrier, who can only be countered by someone going andfinding him at the other side of the map. Given some skill any of the other classes can all combat each other, a bad DD goes and gets spotted, gets shot to pieces. Okay. Now your team is down one guy. Your carrier goes and does something stupid, loses his planes or something. Now the enemy carrier's torp bombers can go around with near impunity. Getting that kill was me, playing with no skill at all. If i had played any other class with a similar amount of skill, I would have just died. And CVs can very easily help win objectives, by torpedoeing the enemy ships. Whenever I try to flank a carrier, if he plays right I get torpedoed halfway there. IF there is two carriers, I get two lots of torpedo bombers at once and I am cpletely doomed. And chances are I'll be forced to damage control, so then the dive bombers can set my ship on fire with impunity. I know I am not meant to be that, and BBs aren't. But a CV is not meant to be an unstoppable killing machine either.
