To save the time and capacity of the hard drive we should unpack only the things we need. “res\gui\crew_commander” Step 2: Start editing After you have the file, you need to turn all of the troop shapes into invisible, They are located at “gui\crew_commander\overlay” If you do not take this step, these ranks will overlap with the new avatar that you replace the captain. …….. Next you need to remember the face and full name of the boat you want to mod. The image represents the captain located at “gui\crew_commander\base” For our example here is the picture is base_0_8 Now choose the image you like.     Shchuka-class Submarines

    Shchuka-class Submarines (Shch/Pike-class) In the middle of 20s, the USSR began to build a submarine fleets. Technical Bureau N4 war established and it was headed by designer Boris Malinin, the government required the design of medium class submarines. Preliminary design of the first submarine model was born in 1928, It was approved on November 1. The project was officially completed by the end of 1929. The Project received designation “Shchuka” (northern pike) and it was intended for mass production. It’s worthy to note that the British submarine L-55 examined in 1928 had a big influence on the project.The Soviet submarine borrowed its exterior lines and general type of the hull. The first three "Shchuka" were built at the Baltic shipyard. and introduced into service in October of 1933. ====== Shchuka-class submarine batch 3: Length: 57 m The greatest width: 6.2 m Surface draft: 3.76 m Displacement on surface: 572t Displacement on underwate: 672t Power plant: + 2 diesel engines 600HP + 2 electric engines 400HP. Various changes, which were improving subs quality, were entering in construction passing from one batch to another. More modern equipment for navigation, radio communications and hydro-acoustics were getting installed. Despite few disadvantages, “Shchukas” were distinguished for simplicity of construction, reliability of its mechanical parts and they had a big reserve of durability. The could dive and emerge with sea conditions to 6 degrees and they were not loosing their seaworthiness in 9-10 degrees storms. And thanks to their relatively small dimensions these submarines were very agile and practically impossible to get caught by hunter-boats. Submarines of this type started being built in big numbers for all Feets of USSR in the middle of 30s. The system of assigning of tactical number war created about at the same time All ”Shchukas” were intended to have a latter “Shch” with addition of a three-digit number.The first digit in the number war meaning a belonging to fo the fleets: + 1 for the Pacific Fleet + 2 for the Black Sea Fleet + 3 for the Baltic Fleet + 4 for the Northern Fleet. ”Shchukas” received their baptism by fire during the Sovet-Finnish war. They were the first among domestic ships, which used their weapons. The combat score was opened by the “Shch-323”. The crew of this ss sank enemy transport in stormy conditions at 10th of Dec 1939. The war with Finland continued for 3,5 months. Shch were on combat patrols in Baltic Sea and Gulf of Bothnia all that time. They sank a lot of enemy transports. The submarines showed themselves and their best properties in harsh winter conditions. There had been 86 submarines of Shch-class in the Navy till the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Almost all “Shch” went to combat patrols after Germany attack on the USSR. The first combat success was brought by Shch-402, under command of First Lieutenant Stolbov.. At 14th of July of 1941, it sank an enemy transport after penetrating to roadstead of Homhenswok port.. And later severe war-time working days started for the entire ss fleet of the USSR. Constant patrolling of the seas, endless dives and emersions, torpedo attacks. In addition to fighting the submarines have to do many other tasks such as delivery of ammunition, fuels and provisions to besieged cities of Primorye, evacuation of population, delivering of landing troops. Submarines passed through modernization multiple times during the war. In 1942, the Shch-101 war equipped with a special onboard equipment, which was containing 40 mines. Meanwhile it retained its torpedo armament.In same year, many Shch got installed a device for cutting of barrier nets.This net-cutting device helped a lot USSR SS sailors during breakthrough of the powerfull anti-ss lines in Guif of Finland Durability of type “Shch” submarines deserves a dedicated mentioning The Shch-318 under command of Captain Lozhkaryov was returning to base at 10th of Feb of 1941. Course of the submarines going alongside of Finnish shores. The submarines had used all of its ammunition in patrol. Boat’s hull had insignificant damages. In conditions of bad visibility the Commander saw too late a German transport moving on collision course. “Emergency Dive!” Command sounded, but there wasn’t enough time. The enemy ship rammed the submarines.The damaged submarines started sinking. The crew managed to stop an uncontrollable submarines at depth of 65m. The damaged boat remained under water for entire hour. Finally, the hydro-acoustician report “Horizon is clear”. Order of emerging on surface was issued. Examination of damages led to an uncomforting conclusion. Movement back to the base is possible only on surface. Almost uncontrollable sub war crawling back to home for 4 days. The crew managed to return back home only thank to USSR designers, who installed a triple reserve of durability in the boat. Meanwhile the boat returned to base, while the enemy ship sank. In 1942, command of baltic fleet has a task to breakthrough powerful anti-submarines line of the enemy. It’s decided to assign the main part of the operation to Soviet Submarines. First one, which accomplished the mission successfully, was the submarines Shch-304, under command 3rd Rank Captain Yakov Afanasyev. After successful passing through mine lines, it went to the sea to operational space. During its combat patrol the ss had crossed enemy mine lines 22 times, got attacked 7 times by aviation and 3 times by shore artillery. Anti-submarines ships of the enemy dropped more than 150 DC on it. Despite taken dmg, the Shch-304 destroyed a floating base of the enemy and returned from the patrol with victory. Type “Shch” submarines were the most effective ones during the Great Patriotic War. 30% of sank and damage tonnages of the enemy on their scoreboard.

Well, this is a pretty simple mod, You just need a little basic knowledge about PS or Paint.NET With this mod you need unpack game client : And you need PS (Photoshop) or Paint.NET (This is a software name, not a website name ) With PS you need add dds plugin too read .dds file. You can find dds plugin in Nvidia website (It must be true for your PS version) ================= And now let's start Step 1: Unpack game client. And this is the result Step 2: Start editing You will edit on "flags.dds" file If you want to edit the size of the flag, you will have to edit the flags.atlas file, but this is a difficult edit so I won't mention it Here you need to use photo editing knowledge, it includes image resizing and compositing. Most flags are sized: 140x105 px Step 3: Save the file as dds Step 4 Make mod file Mod file is the path is the same path that you took the file. With the path "flags" is: /content/gameplay/common/flags You will create a similar path in res_mods/<name of the current version>: For example: res_mods/0.8.7.0 /content/gameplay/common/flags And now go to the game and enjoy the results. In Tier X battles (Tier VIII-X ships), situations with three CVs per team will no longer be possible, while the number of battles with two CVs per team will be reduced drastically.

    Katyusha Submarine

    Katyusha Submarine Head-Quarter of the Workers,and Peasants Red Fleet formulated a task for design of a squadron submarine, in the beginning of the 20s of the previous century. It had to be armed with a powerful artillery armament and to serve for away from bases, autonomously or together with a squadron. Cooperation of submarine forces with surface ship was considered as an important part of success of combat actions. Meanwhile squadron submarine were intended to strike first. Among other things in requirements to these submarine, they also had following: + Speed on surface not less than 22 knots, 6 torpedo tubes in bow and 4 in stern with double number of torpedoes. + Artillery armament with caliber not less than 100mm + Autonomous range up to 15000 miles. Realization of the project started on 1926. The first one became the submarine of D-type, ”Dekabrist” (Decembrist). Surface speed of these boats was only 15 knots, which wasn’t satisfying the client. Boats of 4th series of type P, “Pravda” (truth), became a next project of this class. Surface speed of boats was successfully increased to 20 knots. However, the diving time was significantly increased too and underwater maneuverability became aloso much worse. To 1934, engineer and Counter-Admiral Roudnickiy offered a project for a squadron cruiser submarine with index 9. Characteristics of the projects seemed as much promising to Navy Command and K-9 war adopter as a base for future submarine. The first 3 submarines of K-class were laid down at 27th of December in 1935. Their building was conducted at plants in Leningrad. =========== K-class 14th series cruiser submarine “Katyusha” Displacement submerged: 2200 T Surface speed: 22 knots Range on the surface: 15000 miles Max diving depth: 100m Armament: + 10 torpedo tubes with 24 torpedoes, + Two 100mm guns + Two 45mm guns + 20 mines. ----------------------- Boat had a double-hull design. The first, the internal, strong hull was build traditionally with method of riveting. Welding war mostly used in assembling of the outer hull of the cruiser. Thes hull was divided to 7 compartments. Single cabins and a wardroom for commanding officers were located in the second compartments. Chief Petty Officers were located in the 4th one. The crew war located in the 1st, 6th and 7th compartments. Underwater cruisers had two periscopes with a large aperture, which were also equipped for photo shooting as well. Short-wave radios of the boat were ensuring stable two-way radio communications even at the most distant ranges. The initial Scope Statement war requiring existence of a plane onboard. Such plane ciphered as “SPL” was built by designer Chetveryakov. However the plane was rejected later. The main weapons of Katyushas were torpedoes, just like in other submarine. Six torpedo tubes in the bow and four in the stern. All tubes were enduring a torpedo launch from depths till 15 meters. Artillery armament was consisted of the two 100mm gun and two 45 mm gun. An original mine device was developed for K-class submarine, but mass production of mines hadn’t yet been arranged to the beginning of sea trials. The first trials of Katyushas took place in Baltic. It was stated in the receiving act of the lead ship: “The submarine is on modern technological level and by her tactical properties she surpasses significantly foreign boat in similar type, especially in armament and speed. The most powerful and the fastest one…….” At the same time, the Committee revealed several serious disadvantages. Client wasn’t satisfied with naval properties of the boat and bad water-tightness of structure, while moving on the surface. Also, absence of mines was not allowing to exploit at full the mine laying equipment. Committee decreed to continue trials in July-December of 1941, but the war didn’t allow finishing the project. Initially it was planned to build 62 submarine and by way more than half of them were intended for Pacific Ocean Fleet. But in reality not a single cruiser submarine of K-class reached Pacific ocean during years of the war. Plants delivered 6 Katyushas to the Navy till the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. And they became a part of Northern Fleet till the autumn of 1941. The following task was assigned to them: “........to disrupt naval communications of the enemy along Norwegian shores by actions of cruiser submarine……” At the autumn of same year, the cruiser submarine K-22 departed to combat patrol. After pacing several mines, Katyusha started searching for the enemy. Its artillery sunk a transport ship, a small boat an oil barger. Another two transport and one coastguard boat were destroyed in same patrol later. As intelligence reported later one of ships had more than 30000 coats intended for Jeagers of German Mountain Infantry Corps “Norway” And the winter attack on Murmansk was foiled. Another cruiser submarine K-2 destroyed a transport of the enemy by its artillery during its patrol and when it was returning to the base, it saluted by firing blank rounds. That’s how tradition was born at the Northern Fleet to finish successful patrols by firing blank cartridges equal in number to sunken ships. In the beginning of July of 1942 a German squadron with the battleship “Tirpitz” in the lead went for interception of the Allied convoy PQ-17. Command of the Northern Fleet sent several submarine to regions of Norwegian littoral waters in advance in order to not allow the German squadron to get to the conoy. The cruiser submarine K-21 under command of the “Hero of the Soviet Union” Lunin, was among them. At 5th of July of 1942 the submarine detected the German squadron and started maneuring in order to get into position position for torpedo attack against Tirpitz. Enemy ship were moving with anti-submarine zigzags, constantly changing course. Lunin was forced to often raise periscope for short periods, in order to observe the target. Tirpitz turned directly to the submarine. Launch from bow torpedo tubes became impossible. They were forced to attack the battleship from stern torpedo tubes. As a result of attack Tirpitz was damaged and one of escorting destroyers was sunk. The submarine dived waiting for attack of escort ships, nut it never happened. Tirpitz was forced to return with her squadron to fjords of the Northern Norway and it didn’t part in combat action anymore. K-21 in Polyarny, Murmansk Oblast 3rd of December, 1942. Norwegian territorial waters. The USSR submarine K3 is detected by 3 escort ship, during her attack on enemy transport. Several dozens of DC are dropped on the submarine. The boat hits the bottom several time, while evading them. The ship received considerable damage, causing diesel to spill and float to the surface. The ship was exposed to its position, remaining in the water meant going to death. Gadzhiev, commande of K-3, suggested getting to the surface and starting an artillery battle with enemy ships. Two escort ship were sunk as a result of that battle, while the 3rd on retreated.
